Thanks bro, Mid 2012 MBP with i7. On my second battery replacement. First battery replacement from Mac sales didn’t last long, was expensive and never worked right. Second battery replacement, went with the same battery in your video, plus the SMC and PRAM reset. Running smooth. Never knew about those resets, thanks.

Do i need to do smc and pram if i have windows on macbook pro? I just replaced 4gb ram to 16gb ram
It'll reset the boot. Maybe don't, just in case.

Another excellent video. Despite my reticence when responding to your tutorial on replacing battery in a newer model, I went ahead with the challenge and successfully removed the old battery. Waiting for the new one to arrive. I also have an old A1278, which you have described here, So much easier to remove the battery than the other. But here's my issue:
My A1278 will not turn on, no longer how long I leave it plugged in. The tiny indicator light on the magnetic plug does not light. Could that because the battery is so dead, or do you think I also need a new power cord? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
No light is either a motherboard issue or bad charger.

I just boiughty my first macbook A1278 so i understand after changing the battery i need to let i discharge until 5% and then charge it to 100% 2 or 3 times?
Not really, but that helps it calibrate the battery percentage to be more accurate.

I’d go with a Duracell sourced battery instead. For an extra £30 it’s so worth it!
