@@CC2Cents_ thank you. Joe Tex died of unusual death he was found under water in his pool but was revived in the hospital. A week ltr he had heart attack. Hes legend along with Jackie Wilson and James Brown Every single was hit from 1965 to 1978. Sadlley this was his last record charted
LOVE IT made at a time when people had a sense of humour .
Exactly Andy, I thought the same thing
IT WAS MENT FOR THAT PURPOSE, IT'S A CULT CLASSIC NOW!!!!!!
@@mzprosperwhen it was always about the next Disco party, xand it was a party !!!!!
The ladies of yesteryear had fun with this song and did not take offense at it🤩⚘️
This song is fun. Thanks for sharing.
Back in the day everybody hit the floor and had a good time. No rudeness involved. A different time and in many ways a better time.
@lewispetzold7481 yes, yes, yes!!
Not at all, it was a party
Joe Tex was a soul legend who gave James Brown a run for his money with his dancing during the 1960s.
I'm Australian and when this lady came on stage we were all focused on her natural dancing ability
Word. My woman always rolled her eyes when I played this until she saw the video.
Exactly 💯
This is when music was music....not the garbage today!
That shytt today is PURE garbage
Word
Back in the day, we didn’t think about music as being rude. We were just enjoy the music, And having fun.
You Got That Right, Shoo We Was Too Busy Having Fun To Be Trippin Back Then
Got to tell you this song was a hit in Australia in 77. It was all in fun, people saw the funny side of things. I was only 11 but kids my age loved this song and it was hilarious! The world today is way too serious. It was classic disco!!!!
I agree, this is a fun song!
The world is too g##e and homosexuality, people don't if they're fatt, gaye,dude,dudette,etc,...
i heard it when it first came out and have never forgotten it. fun song with naughty lyrics
I agree, this is a fun song.
Back in my day (haven't heard this song in 40 years!!!) it was not insulting because it was a fun and funky song!!! He was tellin' the truth!!! He just couldn't handle that!! Now I had big boned women in my family and they were BUMPIN' to this!! No shame! No shame! It was a sight to see! But no, this was good, grovvin' stuff back then.
Thank you kindly for sharing.
I love this song, didn't find it offensive at all. This was a great performance from Joe tex, everyone seemed to be having fun, and the big lady who walked on stage was very sexy and an amazing dancer
This song is fun and you are right, the lady on stage was a good dancer. Thanks for sharing.
And she chose to part take
That Mic control is off the scale. Fire
Indeed.
There's also a hidden meaning to the song according to Tex. The big fat woman represents America and we are the ones getting knocked down. I loved Joe Tex. He was a clever songwriter and performer. He actually wrote songs from the guitar but rarely played it onstage.
I didn't know this. Thanks for sharing!
That was way before This stupid PC world ... NO ONE was insulted in those days it was meant to be fun even big girls thought it was fun ... thank GOD i grew up in better times. today's people are so touchy !!!
Thank you for sharing.
I'm with you on that, loved the song and loved bumping to it
Yup, these days women try to find anything to sue a man.
People back in the 70's weren't as politically correct and weren't easily offended as they are today.
Thank you for sharing.
Love it....great dance rhythm. This was right on the heels of Skinny Legs and All.....he gave her to Leroy too.
This is a fun song.
That's all it was "a show within a show", just a playful, fun ,good time song that makes you want to dance and you're right that beat is on point!!
Indeed.
Awesome song - when people were real and having fun while singing -that’s our time, the best😄
It was always a special treat when Joe Tex was on Soul Train!!! "Ain't Gone Bump..." was made all in good fun. The woman dancing on stage with him was part of the act, choreography if you will!!! She wasn't one of the Soul Train dancers.
Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for sending me back to my childhood. It's been a crappy mental health day, I needed this. Thank you! 🙂
Awww your welcome. Best wishes 🙏🏿
Second!
A fun song for a bad day! 👌
Three is my magic number for this😎
I remember the 'bump' dance craze and this song back around '74. It was promoted in many places but led to dislocated hips and other lumbar injuries. I think Joe is just expressing his anxiety, and suffered trauma from a bad dance night experience.
Thank you for your comment.
this was in 1977
@smoothnubian I Remer the bump when I was a kid in maybe 4th or 5th grade. We were at recess, and the girls were all doing the bump. It was in 1974 or 1975.

As I recall those days, this song made everyone laugh, no matter your size or your race. Joe Tex was a big time star and an entertainer who sold millions of records. About ten years before this he had a hit record
with “Skinny Legs and all” about women with skinny legs. When that song came in the radio every skinny-legged girl or woman jumped up and started shaking.
You were groovin' straight off.. what a great track & not offensive at all...
A real jam from a real dude ..!
Love it!
Glad you liked it .. good reaction 😊👍🏾
Thank you.
How could you just sit there and listening... Get up and Dance!!!
I'm a big woman and I thought the same thing , but it was was hilarious!! And it made me want to dance - it was good to hear that again - thanks
We all love Joe texs music
WOW I haven't heard this song since I was a child I liked it then and I still like it now, appreciate that.
1977, I was stationed at Camp LeJeune, NC, I remember it well on Soul Train. I never missed Soul Train and I'm a White guy. We loved Soul Train and American Bandstand.
Thank you so much for your sacrifices. Soul Train was so fun to watch! Thank you for sharing, I appreciate you 🙏🏿
@cc2cents it was an honor to serve our great Nation and beloved Marine Corps. Again we never missed Soul Train. Joe Tex song, "Ain't Gonna Bump No More," was a very popular song.
Another good one by Joe Tex I Gotcha!
Cool, thank you.
I remember this as a kid. It was hype when, it came out.
Thanks for sharing.
Big girls was not offended back in the day
Thank you for sharing
Remember in the 70s everyone doing the bump great song thanks
I really dig this song. You're welcome and thank you.
Great tune and a lot of fun. The woman reviewing tis tune has the most beautiful smile.
This song is a groove. Thank you for the compliment.
I loved it then and I still do. Ppl back then had a since of humor it wasn't personal.
My dad has this song on a record and as for as I know he still has it too
This was one of my favorite songs from the 70s
It's a fun song.
sister, his song is in good fun as many of his songs are.
I swear! 52 years on this Earth & Iv'e never seen this video/reformance! Takes me back to my Mama playing her 8 tracks while having those card parties! Good job Youngblood picking this one! This was from a time when people called it for what it was and no one was hurt or offended.
Hey!!! We would always party with this song during family events. Me and my female ( big boned) cousin would play act this out. It's the Bump!!! The dance style of the 70s were you in rhythm you bump each other. Big props to the lady dancing on stage.
Thank you for sharing.
No I did not find it insulting. I grew up listening to the song and took it at face value.
Thank you for sharing.
This was the 70s we were not as sensitive as today, you must listen to Joe tex other song "I gotcha" I think you will like the beat also!!
Thanks for the suggestion.
Adoraba esta canción en mi adolescencia. Me sigue gustando mucho.

I was young but listened to this song all the time I njoyed listening to it
I JUST LOVE THE SONG. IT WAS NOT MEANT TO BE RUDE. BOY HOW TIMES HAVE CHANGED.
Super Song I love Funk music
Indeed.
🥑🍉🍋BRING BACK THE 70,80,90, I DONT CARE FOR HIT HOP, ITS JUST A SONG VERY HILARIOUS? I LOVE DISCO,JOE TEX.
This such a cool fun song, and Joe Tex can dance. Problem is the world is too sensitive today for a song like this due to social media making everything a big deal. Plus, with all the preservatives and crap they pump into food today to stay on shelves longer, more people then ever before are on the plus size. If you look at footage from the 70’s most women and men were slimmer so the majority back then didn’t get offended. Beside all that, people in the 70’s were about having fun and that’s all it was…
Love this song. Joe Tex was a great singer.
I was a young man in the 70's when this song came out. I don't remember anyone taking offense to it. As you stated, everyone including fat people were just having fun with it.
3:50cause it takes two hands to handle a whopper 😂😂😂1970 Burger King commercial slogan.
That Mic control is FIRE!!!!!
Indeed.
❤😂😂 yes please big it's in the 1970ts disco is the one 👌 😍 🙌 ❤️ go back to the club it's 😅😅😅😅😅😅 happy times for mummy music 🎶 🎵 😀 😅..
First of all, you're pretty like
Chaka khan!
Joe Tex is one of the greatest soul singers of the 1950s - 1970s. Joe always puts a sense of humor into his songs, he also made a song called "Skinny Legs and All." Please listen to his song
"Tell me right now" it will make you cry... he is sensitive in that song. and "You got what it takes "
l know about Joe Tex from the parents... l saw him in person at the Apollo Theater in Harlem in 1968... l saw many star performers!
Different time and era!
Oh yeah!
I created this whole story based off of this song. Like, I'm imagining some dude with a huge fro (or Jerry Curl) just dancing around minding his won business, when all of a sudden a thick woman shows up and just wipes the floor with him. By the end of the song, we flash forward to him sitting in a wheelchair with a bitter scowl on his face. He's now married to the big fat woman, and has 4-5 kids jumping around. I think it could be cute, and with the right curves and proportions, they can make the woman just so sexy.
Specifically when he says "Ya done broke my hip...Ya done broke my hip." I'm just imagining him sitting at a table trying to argue with the woman as she keeps trying to pull him in for a dance.
I love 💖 This song so much the best Beats ❤️❤️
Back in the daze when everyone was doing the bump, oh the good Ole days
Have to admit it is hilarious 🤣
No, it's what is known as a novelty song, and yes in today's climate it would be seen as offensive to some people. This song was written and sung during a time when disco was king and a song about a disco duck was at the top of the charts. It was a time when life was a lot more fun, and people could laugh and be silly, as compared to now when it's the exact opposite.
The Good Ole Days! I’m a 70’s Gal! Joe Tex was absolutely amazing!🔥 There’s some great dancing there on Soul Train too!
My mom loves this song!!!
It's a funky song.
If memory serves me right Joe tex and the lady in the video clip are related. John from australia...
The song was made to be funny . The big girl dancing didn't take offense. It was in a different time and we could say what we felt without judgment from anyone.
If you look at the last second in the video They are about to bow before the crowd
I'll have to check it out, thanks.
You must be from DC?? I can hear it kind of in your voice, we have a unique dialect 😂
Young Lady I'm gon try to Help You Out...The Legendary JOE TEX Had a String of Hit Songs in The 60s' through 70s' If You wasn't Feeling The Way Before its Time Video He Put to His Hit Song AINT GON BUMP NO MORE Using The SOUL TRAIN Show and Stage then Maybe You Shouldn't Listen to His Hit Song Before that One SKINNY LEGS AND ALL...Back in the 60s' There Were Only 3 Soulful Male Performers Dancing and Doing Fancy Microphone FootWork which JOE TEX Started then there was MR.DYNAMITE Himself JAMES BROWN and New Orleans Own ERNIE(MOTHER IN LAW) K-DOE....Hope that helped you out a little..Love&Peace luv ya byo eJ ❤
If you get the opportunity listen to Joe Tex's recording "Leaving You Dinner"
Thanks for the suggestion.
I remember this as a little girl dancing to it...I just loved him. It was just a fun song, and I don't take offense to it. ❤❤❤
look yall gatta realize Joe tex was not known for sweet wholesome music, first look at the name Joe tex sounds like a female sanitary product, joe tex music went from funny to downright nasty, i remember when this first came out it was a hit and nobody was upset about it, im a big fan man and its still funn
I don't think it was actually insulting. If you listen to the actual words, he doesn't say she is a bad dancer or isn't sexy. He said she was in the groove and getting down.
She was too much for him!!! No man could handle dancing with her!!! 😊
This is such a brilliant song.
Wasn’t anything insulting about this song, it was a good song, I was 11 and remember this as one of everyone’s favorite song, people nowadays are just a lil uptight about nothing
Please react to SISTER SLEDGE “Next Time You’ll Know” music video
Thanks for the suggestion.
Its all just fun from the 70s girl ! Joe Tex was an awesome singer, and I thought the large lady was attractive :)
I agree she is attractive and it is a fun song.

She has a GORGEOUS SMILE!
She does!
Great song 😊
I danced many times to that song back in the day. Joe Tex had great tunes and we had thick skin back then too because we all partied and danced together and we were colorblind... Soul Music was the Bomb ! Now music Sucks...
Missing my Stockton/California days of 1978 disco
Awww, bringing back memories! Thank you so much for watching 🙏🏿
Nobody was insulted by this song
I see what you mean the bass line is similar but slower, the bass line in ain't gon bump no more is just gold, keep um coming beautiful lady we got you all the way here in th UK, ❤
This was a fun song! Thank you so much for watching and for the compliment!! ✌🏿
she looks good and smooth with it
Good thing Cancel Culture wasn’t around in 1977
Thanks for your comment.
Joe Tex always had a Lil humor/comedy in his lyrics. 2day it would be cringe comedy. I believe most people just jammed 2 the beat anyway
It was groove!
Tonight Is The Night, is a great song. But if I had to point to another song in tone, I would say, Chuck Brown and the Soul Searchers, Bustin Loose.
Also, a great song you've probably never heard of is, Who Gets Your Love? By Ken Boothe. It's reggae and has a similar smoothness to it, albeit a slightly different genre.
Shows the difference in time and music. This lady has no idea about Joe Tex. I guess she never heard Skinny Legs and All.
The mic stand control was more on point than James Brown's mic play. I can see why James did not like this guy.
Great song and fun and you are so beautiful oh-my , Ray in the UK
This is a fun song. Thank you so much! ☺️
I really think there's a deeper in meaning to the song. I really believe that Joe is trying to break that stereotype of how woman should look like, being skinny and perfect and that big women can just as easily break men's heart than any other woman. At least that's how I viewed the song
You are correct, it's actually speed up/ with the Same bass line
I JUST ❤it
It was a big hit in England when it came out.
He isn’t exactly thin himself is he lol , as soon as you said the title my head was already singing it lol 👍
lol.
@cc2cents That video used footage of Joe Tex's performance from a 1977 episode of ''Soul Train''. I'm a big ''Joe Tex'' fan. But you're 100% correct! Over all it's not a bad song. But there is just no way a song with this kind of content and subject matter...Would be able to go over in this day and age. It would be deemed as (politically incorrect). There are a lot of great classic pop songs from the 1950s, 60s, 70s and 80s. Which lyrically would be consider PIC or inappropriate for today's standards. There is one particular song that comes to mind. And that the 1960 hit song "You're Sixteen" by Johnny Burnette. Can you imagine a grown man singing a love song to an under age girl in the year 2023? YUK!!🤢
You never heard that song?! Now I know I’m old!! 😂😂😂
