I was groovin' so hard to this, I had to play it twice! My daughter (age 21), came downstairs to let the dog out and peaked into my room from my bedroom patio door and said, "ugh, ma!...what are you listening too?" I said, "girl, this was a jam back in the day and still is!" She stood there staring at me with a wrinkled up face...........Damn millenials!!
Too funny..fortunately for me my kids have my soul..they just vibe with me..one day my 12 yr old was singing this song in the car with her grandparents..she said they asked what she knows about this song..she goes mom plays this all the time!..love it🤍🤍

One of my favorite songs! My mom would play this while we cleaned and bump me and my brothers around! We thought it was so hilarious! I had a great childhood because of music like this!
True, because it was fun to bump dance. It was hip bumping on the dance floor, and could get exaggerated about it, but all good fun. Thin or not, depending on strength.
That's mama's record right there! My mother always play this song when she make me do the bump with her when I was 8 years old, In 1977. Best times! That's a Goldie but a disco goodies! Hands down to the legendary Joe Tex. "Say Leroy!" That was his version of It. Enough said!💿🎧🎤🎵🎇🌟💥🔥🙌🎆🎉👍💯😎👋💨
Silly as hell, but funky, FUNKY dance record. I remember Joe performing this on both "American Bandstand" & "Soul Train". And both times a big, fat woman got up on stage with him.
Too Funny if not real. Back in the day I asked a big gal to dance. She was lovely, all by herself and moving to the music. I politely approached and she said Yes. The "bump" was the thing. She bumped me into next week!. The DJ was laughing so hard as I picked my butt off the dance floor. We had a great time. No wonder I needed double hip replacement!!

I was 7yrs old when this song came out. It brings back great memories. My parents and their friends would be sippin and listening to this great music and would bribe me with money to come and dance for them.
