Left there company/Philadelphia International Records. And hooked up with LTD. in the 2nd half of the 70's. he Arranged, and Produced several BIG HITS for them.
This jam takes me back to Ft Gordon, Ga. It was Oct 1977 and I had just completed my Army basic training and began my AIT training which means Advanced Individual Training. This hit by Jeffrey Osborne was one of many hits we played on our 8 track boom boxes. Those were some good times, once AIT was completed each man was sent to his assigned duty station whether it was stateside or overseas etc...to this day I can still recall many of their names and remember the faces etc....I hope life has been good to them..... They'll ALWAYS be MY BROTHERS IN ARMS!!
Aw, yeah! This redo really makes me appreciate Osborne's vocals. You can hear the influence of R&B staples like Big Joe Turner and Wynonie Harris, even with the slicked-up rhythms. (This is why I don't pay much attention to people who generalize about one era being somehow more pure and perfect than all the others. Those connections are always there, if you know how to listen.)
