    Many many years ago, I learned to crochet by diagram. That goes for everything.. including filet crochet. I prefer it to reading page upon page of written instructions. Great tutorial with great explanations 👍

      Learning by diagram definitely wouldn't have been easy, that takes a lot of skill! Thank you so much ❤

    I’ve been crocheting for about 4 years now so I’d class myself as intermediate and I wanted to say your teaching style is excellent. You explain it well enough that beginners would understand it well but it’s also not too slow for people with a bit more experience in crocheting like myself. Looking forward to seeing your future videos as I have subscribed and thank you for the videos you have made so far ☺️.

    hello thank you for this tutorial. I will need help I would like to make the same pattern but in crochet 2. How many squares would I need to have the same size as the pattern made in hook 3? thks❤

      @lucillepearll  Месяц назад +1

      hi lovely, do you mean you are wanting to make the pattern with a smaller hook size? xx

      @@lucillepearll yes the same but with a 2 mm book 😊

      @lucillepearll  Месяц назад

      @@ohminista i would recommend doing a guage swatch to see what kind of dimensions you’re going to end up with, then i would still just start with the same amount of squares that i have in my pattern and once you’re done with that just add a couple rows of squares around the perimeter of the panel to get it to the size you’re after x

    Although you teach your way well. Filet crochet normally is 3 stitches per box. 3 double crochets is a box or an open box is Dc,chain 1,Dc the first box is open on the end, then it's like you read each block individually from there.
    If your pattern is 2 open blocks 3 closed blocks and 2 open blocks
    🔳🔳⬜️⬜️⬜️🔳🔳
    It would be only 15 stitches. Your way leaves way bigger holes.

      Hey Brenda, I appreciate your comment - I did mention in the beginning of the video that each box is worth 3 stitches, and as I show in the pattern an empty box will be 1dc 2ch and then 1dc to close the box and a full box will be 1dc, 2dc in the centre and 1dc at the end to close the box - this is just how I explain it but each box is still worth 3 stitches. Each box needs to be worth the same amount of stitches otherwise the pattern won’t work - for example if I then needed to work a full box on top of an empty box in the next row, there wouldn’t be enough stitches for me to work into if I’d only done 1dc 1ch 1dc. As for the holes being left bigger, this is due to the way I’ve chosen to design this piece, I have used a bigger hook and yarn to achieve that look.
      This is how I’ve learned to filet crochet based off of many different sources, however I totally understand and am aware that there can be other ways of doing this. Appreciate the feedback, I’ll keep this in mind for future 😊 x
