Hi lovely! No this makes perfect sense - I think your idea is a good way to do it, just remember if you want the top to pull the way it should at the front that the back panel should be on the smaller side - another idea is if you get her measurement from shoulder blade to shoulder blade across her back, that’s roughly the distance of my back panel. I hope this helps and that your sister loves it, it’s so sweet that you’re making this for her ❤

for me this is about 1 & 1/2 skeins of 100g 8ply yarn ❤️
will non dk yarn work? like medium weight
@@ashnasharma535 any medium weight yarn should work, I would recommend just doing a gauge swatch though prior to making the top ☺️
