    This is long overdue, but I'd just like to take a moment to thank all of you who have watched my piano videos/lessons and posted comments over the last few years. I hope that my lessons have helped to provide a productive means of escape for some of you during these difficult times. I'm happy to see in the comments that so many people have used my videos as a starting point to begin learning how to play the piano. I know there are many of you out there that would love to see more lessons posted, but at the present time I am quite busy with other projects. Please continue to practice and learn songs, and most importantly, stay safe.

      Tengo 81 años y al comenzar la pandemia me decidí a aprender piano ya que había empezado a estudiar en mi Argentina natal pero por falta del dinero para comprar piano tuve que abandonar. Era un sueño imposible hasta que aquí pude retomar los estudios ya que compré un piano que dicen tiene 160 años alemán. Pero mis manos carecen de la elasticidad necesaria para lograr mi sueño 😴 y a pesar de tener un profesor joven y fantástico para enseñar ya que me tiene mucha paciencia y a esta hermosa manera de usted de enseñar, creo que para mi ya es muy tarde. Dios lo bendiga y podamos seguir dis frutando de sus lecciones ❤️

    5 years ago I tried learning this on the piano. We were living in a home that wasn't all the best and my father wasn't there. I went to my grandmothers electric piano and played this I remember it being super confusing because I had zero experience with the piano and throughout the years whenever I found a piano I would play this I would always stop at part four because I thought I couldn't do it. I have 3 years of experience and still know nothing I know the notes but don't know cords or how to read sheet music anymore. Today I sat at our piano and remembered you the first person to teach me how to play. So now I'm back I was nine then and now I'm fourteen and now we're not skipping part 4. Every once and awhile you would pop into my head and I would remember but then I would completely forget. So thank you!!!

    Thank you Steve. I found a keyboard in one of my closets and started messing around with it. I have never touched a piano or keyboard in my life. With the stresses of my business and everyday life I thought, how nice would it be to learn one of my favorite melodies.I looked on RUclips and your video popped up and I have not looked back since. I was laughed at when I told people I was going to learn to play Fur Elise from a video on RUclips. I guess it was a funny notion to everyone since I am 42 years old and run a rather large business, but now I am halfway through lesson three and I have not looked back. Thank you again Steve! Thank you for taking the time to teach anyone that wants to learn to play this beautiful melody. I can imagine this video took some time to put together. Thank you VERY much! I will post a video once I can play this and credit you 100%. I mean that from the very bottom of my heart.

    • @DrSteveWarner
      @DrSteveWarner  7 лет назад +254

      For this song (and in particular, the first movement), small hands do not pose too much of a problem. The sustain pedal should be held down throughout each measure. This means that you can release each note almost immediately, allowing you to free up your entire hand to get to the next note. Your left hand can spend more time off the keyboard than it does playing notes, and this part of the song can still sound very good.

    👍 By following this lesson I found out that I had an aptitude to play the piano having not able to read the music at all. Then, when I got it, I went to Flowkey to take beginner lessons and learn to sight read beginner music. When I could basic sight read, playing Flowkey's Fur Elise from a score was simple and a logical progression in the learning process. After 5 weeks I can now sight read the beginner's Canon in D, I Giorni, Morning Mood, Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring, Clair de Lune, Yesterday, Moonlite Sonata, Liebestraun #3, Prelude No.1 in C. All of it got launched by THIS video. Thank you Steve Warner! 👍

    Super thankful for this tutorial! I just sat at a keyboard 🎹 and started watching this video and it had me instantly playing! I don’t play and this is the first song I picked to learn because it’s pleasant to listen to. Your tutorial and lots of practice will having me looking like I had private lessons! You’re a blessing! Thanks for sharing 💗

    Mr.Warner, Sir, may I say how thrilled I am to have happened upon your excellent teaching of Fur Elise! Simple, repetitive and clear! This is far one of my favorite pieces, evidenced by my daughter who is named in part, after it. Thank you!
    May I request for Moonlight Sonata and Clair De Lune? Thank you!

    Hey man just saying, my bro was really good at the piano and I wanted to be as good as him, it seemed almost impossible to be as good as him cause as soon as he heard a song he would play it, he studies music and music was everything to my family, i started of with a good piano but i was only able to play twinkle twinkle as a 6 year old, thats when i found your fur Elise tutorial and i just clicked on it, at that point i loved the song and i knew i had to learn this. So I grinder for 3-4 months and i reached till your 4th tutorial and i was able to play fluently. And since then i started learning different songs and different instruments and now as a high schooler I’m forever grateful.
