Thanks a lot! I’m soon to be 61 and my daughters bought me a nice keyboard for my 60th and I’m learning this song and I needed some instruction on certain parts of it. Thanks for your expertise!
Fun fact: Beethoven wrote this song for Elise, a girl he was teaching who he fancied, hence the name Für Elise. At first, it was just Part 1 and 2 of this video. But when he asked Elise out, she rejected him. So to get revenge, the song he made for her, he added the difficult part (part 3 of this video) to make it impossible for her to learn the whole song as she was still a beginner. Thats why the beginning is easy, and the end is difficult!

Great tutorial, thanks for the tips with the fingers as well! But does anyone have some tips of the left hand? I can't seem to get the hand of it (lol)
I'm a middle-aged woman, I can't read notes, nor play any instrument... but music has always meant a lot to me. This year, I made a resolution to fulfill some wishes I had as a child. One of them was to be able to play 'Für Elise.' I am so glad and grateful to have found such a wonderful teacher here on RUclips! I learned the first part in no time and I am looking forward to the next lessons. Thanks again, you have made me very happy! ;) (Better I don't think about Part 4 yet...😰)
Thank you so much! I just started playing piano today and I have already gotten through the first part and have sent a video of me playing to my friends and family and they said it was fantastic. Again, I cannot thank you enough for this amazing tutorial and I will make sure to watch some of your others very soon!
Hi as your message is 5 months ago, and I take it you are a beginner like myself, what sort of speed have you been able to get at playing this, as I'm finding the finger movements so difficult? Thanks.
Hi, I was thinking along the same lines, but thanks for your advice. What sort of level are you please? i.e. are you a beginner, who has slowly speeded up playing it? Would you think it is possible for a beginner to get to play it at the normal speed over a period of time?@@VANZ_SBG
@@VANZ_SBG Thanks for replying. Are you saying, make sure you get all finger movements correct at a slow speed and then slowly increase the speed so that it will start to sound like the person doing the video, speedwise?
Alright imma take up this challenge. Trying to learn it in 7 days (atleast in a slower tempo) I'll keep updating do support me. *Day 1:* I did only 2 parts in normal speed *Day 2:* I practiced the first and seconds parts in a faster tempo (at 2x) I started the 3rd part. I could learn both hands BUT can only play separately (I could perfect them separately at 2x speed it's hard to play together)
i am playing fur elise in a school party and i am playing a solo and the music teacher keeps shouting at me even if i get one note wrong so this was fun relaxing and i am done so thank u so much
Was it due to the science of the mini grand or the grand piano which allowed LB to make his music the way he saw fit. It was like they where made for each other like Bach and the organ or Mozart and the harpsichord. Thank you for your video I forgot all but muscle memory and this will help me bring it all together.
I came to this video looking to learn the third part. I was able to learn the right hand in TWO DAYS. I still am terrible at the left hand after two months, but I know practice makes perfect! Thank you for this amazing tutorial!
You don’t know how much this means to me, thank you so much! I’ve been practicing the piano 🎹 for 4 months now. I’m not going to lie, it’s harder than I thought it would be because it’s a lot of information. However I know one day I will improve. Thank you! 🙏 ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Ok I’m ngl, this is a great tutorial, and would recommend for newcomers, but he speeds through part 3 on the left hand without much explanation. As a person who sucks with anything left hand related, this is very difficult. So if you do an updated video, please carefully include how play everything on left hand.
shew part 3 is so hard 😭 im stuck on it when it comes to right and left hand together. im 6th day into learning this song and i am a complete beginner.🤧
Thanks for the great lesson! This is my very first song learning piano. Up to part 3, can play each hand separately but having a hard time playing both hands together 😂. Lots of practice required for sure.
lol 😭 i use a piano keyboard, 49 keys and its the right size on my hands. I once tried an actual grand piano, and i could barely play any song with the size of the keys!
OMG!! I had no idea there was more after all the E's, glad I found you on here. I thought I was happening finally learning to play a song on the piano I've only had for 2 months. To find out I did not even learn half is such a disappointment. 😢 thank you for taking the time, now I'll learn it.
I am on part 3 I can play the first 2 parts just fine with both hands, and I have the right and left hands down for part 3, but I just can’t seem to be able to put them together, any tips?
Yeah, part three kind of broke my brain cells a little bit😅😅😅 I was trying so hard to play it, but I don’t even know what I was doing😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂❤😂❤😂😂 17:22
I totally agree with some of the comments below as this is by far, the BEST piano tutorial of FUR ELISE I have seen and watched. I have learned this piece when I was in my teens back in the Philippines but did not get to finish it coz I then went to college and my piano teacher moved to the US at that time.. I went to relearn it again but I could not do the part 3 the way u were playing it. I mean, the perfect tempo, speed and the proper hand position and execution. Now that I am 52 I gifted myself a very nice Yamaha P515 and trying to play all my fave classical tunes. Thanks for this beautiful rendition and tutorial and excellent expression of this popular piece! I truly appreciate and I got so inspired and encouraged that it's still never too late for me to play this tune again. You made this so easy to play when it's not. Kudos to ur channel :}
I’ve been having the same problem. What’s been helping me is practice each part little by little. Compare what each hand will do on each note. All it takes is practice and taking it slow.
Thank you for taking the time to instruct new players. One of the things I find is often forgotten is how to pedal-went to press and when to lift. Professionals play differently, and I guess it’s a preference that one would have over the other. For instance, I believe Ashkenazy lifts the pedal as he reaches the top of the octave run and Capova holds until one gets to the last three E/Eb. I still don’t know which one I like better so I guess it’ll be on whim as I playing it. Again, thanks.
This is how all piano tutorials should be done.
