Can't Fish So I Checked Swamp Cams 2024

- I can't get a break in this lousy weather to run up and Fish the Chassahowitzka NWR so I stomped the swamp plus a new location to retrieve SD cards from 5 cameras here on the Florida Nature Coast out here in Bayport, Florida.
Wes, the fort appearance of the bobcat had caught something and was carrying it in its mouth. That was cool. Have a great day.
Thanks Phillip!! Spot on and recently I got a glimpse of 2 kits.... they have not shown back up since then.....That was my new spot because of the traffic.....Enjoy the weekend!

Thanks Ron!! Mr. bushy tail has been the odd man out.....Rarely catch them in the camera......A few months back I had a Pileated Woodpecker beat my camera to death....Busted all 3 PIR sensors.....That was a brutal pecker attack.....LOL!!
Too bad about the weather but interesting to see all the wildlife in the swamp. I enjoyed in full to the end. Thank you, my friend. 11:20

Looks like your getting some of my hogs on the north side of the river 🤪 that little one is a good swimmer don’t want to leave moms side .. was that a shot 😳 . Nice videos of the coyotes. Wow good size kitty too . The mask bandit are busy on both of ours .
Thanks!! There are a lot of blacks.....Mostly males....usually the spotted multi colored critters are sows!! Mamma had 2 little ones and she's down to one.....He/she is a hoot to watch crossing water....LOL!! That shoot was a 12 gauge as best as I can tell and close to the camera to the NE.....This is the second time there has been a trespasser and the first time at night.....I searched the area but couldn't find a shell. The Yotes seem to be an old female and 3 youngins and they are showing up on 3 cameras locations. I've got the travel routes down to a science and I've now got a 5th camera on a place that seems to have decent traffic during the winter.....There are a lot of bandits especially around my boat house!!

Thanks John!! I added another camera that's close to the house that produces a lot of Raccoons and Bobcats....I even got a boar this time!!
I wasn't expecting to hear that gunshot. I saw in the comments that you mention a poacher. That's disappointing. I hope he doesn't come across your trail cam and steals them. Very nice footage. I really like all the palm trees!! I'd love to hike in a similar forest one day! Have you ever came across a hog while retrieving you cam footage? They can be aggressive!
Thanks Henri!! That was unexpected because it wasn't that far from the camera!! There are a lot of hogs in the Refuge and the sows are traveling with the offspring!! The hogs make it possible for me to travel back there and finding any of my cameras is slim to none!! This video has a sow and piglet....both black that show up on multiple cams and during my last trip I walked behind them.....They just moved out of my way!! A few weeks ago I walked on a pretty big boar....Same results he headed in the opposite direction.....It's the face off with a bear that concerns me during my trips!!
@WesLovelace around here, black bears usually run off also. As long as you don't spook it!!

@@wishinone Thanks Clifford!! Mama had 2 about 2 months ago and with all the Yotes back there survival has to be tough.....I do know that junior is a hell of a swimmer.....He/she literally walks across those creeks in short order!!
At 2:44 it sounded like someone just lit up a firework before the bang at 2:47 - 2:48 but didn't see any flash of a firework. I do wear headphones while watching videos so I do hear a lot of stuff going on in videos. Lot of hogs at there and raccoons. Cool capture on the bobcat carrying something in its mouth not that many coyotes at this time around.
Thanks Dave.....How about a 12 gauge.....Didn't see a muzzle flash or that hog go down.....Another poacher.....Second one now along the westside of the property.....I searched the area to the NE and to the south but didn't find a casing. We've had several high water events the traffic has been light.....The new cam location is near the house and seems to get a lot of traffic during the winter!!😎

A hunting license is not required, and a permit is not required to take wild hogs at night with a gun and light with landowner permission. Hunters may use dogs and any legal rifle, shotgun, crossbow, bow, pistol or air gun (including airbow).
@@DaveRobb (Not without landowner permission)....without permission it's poaching which has not been given to anyone and that includes me.....I've already caught one trespasser on camera

We finally hit the 80's for a few dayz and I got into the back country.....That 8 mile run up the coast in all that skinny water will pucker your butt.....Managed Trout, Redfish and Ladyfish on suspending twitch baits....Being off the water for almost 2 months is my worst nightmare.....LOL!!
I forgot to ask did you do a compression before you pulled the head!!

Thanks Martin.....That's a 12 gauge not far from the camera.....Somebody poaching.....Owner wasn't in there and this is the second time someone has been in there without permission....I'll have to be more attentive on future walks!!

Thanks!! I caught that on the news.....That's in Manatee County south of Tampa in the Duette Refuge.....I'd sure like to get one on film.....I'd never show the footage up here to anyone!!😎🐾
@@WesLovelace I was looking at a pathway a panther could take to get to the Weeki Wachee or Chaz refuges...I think it's doable but will take some time..and a few Panthers getting killed crossing a road here and there..

@@WesLovelace been a few times up the river. Trout fishing was great in deeper spots. Caught a few snook as well. Mister redfish must have been back in your skinny water I can’t get to.. But like you, the windows are few and far between with this weather and negative tides.
