      Thanks Dave!! This new engine is so quiet I'm able to get closer to these Manatees than with the other motor.....I've got 30 seconds of a Manatee walking right up to the boat.....Sea Ya!!

      Thanks Kenton!! I've had to get use to the throttle response....It's quick!! it's quiet enough that I can now sneak up on Manatees....I'm getting about 25% better fuel efficiency and I'm knot suckin' in smoke from mixing oil!! With both boats now sporting 4 strokers I'm set for the rest of my life and both were well worth the price......Glad you stopped by.....Hope the family is doing well.....Sea Ya!!

    That’s a nice slam! I saw you out in PIB last week. I went back in those bushes and gave it another shot in my kayak , saw a lot more on the edges, even stuck a good red in that last spot you was in before you headed over to the canal. That red hit the Mirrodine and had a snook chase the skitter walk all the way to the kayak but didn’t bite. The skitter walk is easy to work and fun to fish with, will be doing more top water stuff. Also picked up a spook jr. This wind ever calms down I gotta start slowly working my way north and learning those waters for some new spots. Had a boat in PIB run right in front of me on my kayak.

      TOTWF.....Thanks!! A day late and a trout or 2 short.....I got one that was 22" but by the time I saw your video the critters were gone in the bay!! I'm glad the Deen and Walk got you on the path of variety.....The 3 you're using now will get more strikes than you're use to.....I'm got a ton of what you're using in a bunch of different colors....No such word in my vocabulary as tooooo many flippin' plastics.....LOL!!....When you're ready to really get in the bushes and leave the rest of the crazzy world behind I'll show you the Beeline into Wall Bay and from there you won't believe the available back country creeks .....All you have to do is explore.....In peace and quiet.....LOL....That's the best part....No more IDIOTS!!

      @@TimeOnTheWaterFishing Little slow tonite....I'm editing 3 videos at once.....LOL!! If someone's willing to put in the time I'll show them how to get there and stuff to consider before they embark into the wilderness!! Now I can tell you I'm not doing you any favors.....This place is not to be taken for granted.....You can get stranded if you don't take certain things into consideration.....Especially the tide.....It is the difference between a safe and successful trip or I need another prop or lower unit or new prop shaft or all of the above.....LOL!! Now that being said I've been running this place for over 30 years and I mean no one knows this place any better than me and that's a fact!! The area north of Pine Island Bay has the worst bottom you'll ever see and it continues all the way to the Waccasassa River north of Yankeetown!! Now all you need is a big tide....Say 3.0 or higher and the trip from PIB to Wall Bay is fairly straight forward. Now I can run in 5" of water and I would say if you don't have a tunnel use 1 ft. as a base running depth....So whenever you have the urge to see what's up north and the water is there I can go anytime!! A little tid bit....I got a 57 second video of a Manatee that walked right up to the boat and this motor did not scare it off!! I didn't put it into shorts because I can't stand the 9-16 format so it will show up as a regular video complete with music.....Sea Ya!!😎

  • @JAllredFishing

    Another great trip. I have always wondered, with so much water, how do you pick your spots?

    • @WesLovelace
      @WesLovelace  2 месяца назад +1

      Thanks J!! If I put together a 3 day trip I usually cover about 20 to 30 square miles and that might increase with the efficiency of this new 4 stroke. Every spot that I fish I have been there in the past 30 years. Now some of these places routinely produce results and a lot of places are hit and miss. If I do a 3 day marathon I usually try to fish a 1/3 section per day. I literally know about 500 places to flip and it's a run and gun in terms of time....I can cover an area in about 10 minutes unless I get multiple bites as I did in the pass. I've found over the years many of these fish actually frequent the same spots and since all these species are constantly moving I'm rarely in these places more than once a month. When it comes to this area I use to travel to other spots 50 miles away and on occasions I still do but spending 4 hours driving to fish inshore or offshore pushes me to 8 or 10 hours and I don't enjoy long hours on the road and the water any more....If all the electronics like the Go Pro were around back then you would have seen a huge change in the bite compared to today...It's not the same either Inshore or offshore in this area anymore......Have a great weekend!!😎

      Thanks Marc!! You know every once in a while I hit a spot that surprises me.....But when you fish all of this reel shallow water(2-3 ft) these top water lures are easy for these fish to sea and the strike is what gets me cranked and it sets the stage for the rest of the video.....It's reel nice to have what I consider my own personal playground.....LOL.....Have a great weekend!!

    • @WesLovelace
      @WesLovelace  2 месяца назад +1

      The Pup is fine and it's not too big.....I mostly use the top water Skitterwalk 5 1/2" in several colors and a lure that's hard to find is a Spittin' Image.....My moto is you can't have enough plastic and why have one when you can have 2 at twice the price.....LOL!! Now I do something different with all my plastic with trebles and that's replace the original 1X with 4 X's made by VMC....I use to have way too many trebles bending and me pissed at the results....I've been changing all my plastic for years....I like those Q's.....Ask anytime.....It's all about getting the max in terms of results!!😎

    • @WesLovelace
      @WesLovelace  2 месяца назад

      Thanks John!! Of the 3 species that show up here.... Speckled Trout, Redfish and Snook .....Snook takes first prize.....Very delicate and almost white flesh.....The downside are the strict regulations.....A lot of season closures and a very narrow slot size limit......It's the one species that has a gill plate that is razor sharp and unless you use at least 30 lb. leader or higher you stand an excellent chance of getting cut off.....The one thing Snook are known for in shallow water is leap a lot but because this catch was in a more confined area I didn't get the jumps I was hoping for....Enjoy your weekend!!😎
