I always wanted to build a 6 for the fun of it being I used to build engines at a speed shop GM Ford Mopar stuff so I looked into building a 6 & it's quite bit more to build one compared to most of the popular V8 engines while the 6 still makes much less HP & torque so it really isn't cost effective to build one for racing. The leaning tower of power is a great engine had a few my self & the early ones used the same crank shaft bearings as a 440 & 426 Hemi does so very strong but I have seen a few that were blown up with a hole in the block from a rod letting loose so they definitely aren't indestructible. I would also bet this here engine has a filled block with hardener to stiffen it up more to support the high pressure that the turbo is pushing to get the HP it's making to get into those 9s so the cylinders aren't moving around flexing & loosing ring seal & power, probably sleeved as well so it has thicker cylinders to add strength as well. Either way this is very impressive being those 6s aren't easy to make serious power with or cheap to do !

Cool, for an engine that most just throw away.
I don't remember my '79 Aspen running 9's.... 🤣
If it was stock you'd be lucky if it ran 19's.
@@hyperpack it was RIDICULOUSLY doggy!
Good ol Leaning tower of power
Leaning Tower of Power
That's an angry little sixer..
Leaning tower of power
In the mid sixties Barney Navarro got 650 HP out of a 199 CI Rambler 6, turbocharged and on alcohol. It was for an Indy car. Poor handling and driving kept it from qualifying for the 500.
Trying too get in the 11s with a t4 and stock carb
hope it makes 8s
Yes, I Hope Madman Will Burns has been in the Workshop All winter Turning up the Boost!
Nice
@Mike Sienicki this engine uses none of that stuff. Bespoke rods, pistons. I cannot speak about the crank. Might be a reworked stock piece.
Everyone says the Slant 6 was such a bulletproof engine.
Ours must have been made on a Friday.
1977 Dodge Tradesman. Didn’t even have 100,000 miles on it and it was burning oil and had such low compression that if it was parked on any incline the cylinders would leak down in a matter of seconds and kaTHUNK it would roll and hold for another few seconds then... kaTHUNK!!

The leaning tower of power?
How much wheel hp is this slant 6 producido?
Badass 👏👏👏
There goes that 9:20 dial in LOL
I had a slant 6 in my 1974 Dodge Dart Sport...wasn't quite that fast as I recall.
That's what makes them amazing, they have so much potential in the right hands.
