    Man you put in a ton of work with this project. The shots are awesome and the edit was just as much. Definitely one the best use of this lens/camera combo I've seen. Gotta love that power zoom. I just got this lens camera combo a few days ago and have yet to shoot with it.

    • @AllThingsFilm1
      @AllThingsFilm1 Год назад

      How dishonest to claim you can "see the heavy crop" of his slow motion footage. The crop doesn't matter if you know how to frame a shot properly. It's called planning the shot. Which you're probably not very good at based on your uninformed comment.

    Great video Dominique! Have you used the a6600? If so, is the FX30 worth the extra money? Thanks!

    • @nikrohr
      @nikrohr  Год назад +5

      i have never used the a6600 or any other sony camera except the ZV-E10.
      the main reason i bought an FX30 is the ability to shoot in 60/120 fps/4K. for sports shooting (snowboarding and mountain biking for me) this is essential.
      since i shoot rather hobby-like and want to keep the workflow as simple as possible, another important aspect is the possibility to load LUTs on the camera and include them via picture profile.

    Nd filter ? ,, did you de-noise any of the footage? Looks great I used same settings and didn’t get as good results, also this is one of the first video montages where only like 2 percent was slo motion (birds), S&Q 120 ? … when I use the S&Q in medium to low light I get a lot of noise?

    • @nikrohr
      @nikrohr  Год назад +4

      no nd filters, no de-noise. straight out of camera. XAVC HS 4K, 10 Bit 4:2:0, Flexible ISO, S-Gamut3.Cine/S-Log3, Phantom LUT (Jamaica). i never use the S&Q option, because there's no audio recorded. for the birds & mountainbike footage i used 120fps in "normal" movie mode (XAVC HS 4K, 10 Bit 4:2:0).

    • @nikrohr
      @nikrohr  Год назад +4

      so far, i'm extremely satisfied with the FX30. before, i owned a Sony ZV-E10, but it lacked the ability to record 60/120 FPS in 4K and especially for sports this is crucial.

      @@nikrohr I just got two ZVE10s for interviews but i want a 3rd body. Is this a lot better? Or maybe a 6400 or 6600 would be enough of an upgrade as a third camera (to be the main).

      @nikrohr  Год назад

      i used the Sigma 16mm lens for the low-light shots because of its high light sensitivity (1.4 aperture). the Sony 18-105 lens was used for most of the daylight shots and all of the "zoom" shots.
