John is the anti-typical rock star. He married his high school sweetheart in 1989 and they've been together for almost 36 years, and have 4 children. Jon is a big humanitarian in his home state of New Jersey. He's got 4 restaurants for those that are less-fortunate, and you can stop in and eat a meal and wipe tables or wash dishes to pay for it. He's also big into Habitat for Humanity, having built and renovated houses in his home town in Jersey. In short, he's a really good dude. Great reaction; love to see you guys getting in to a little '80s rock. It's always gotten a bad rep for the "glam" metal and long hair and crazy costumes, but underneath there was some really good rock music made during that era. Hope you continue to explore it.

I'd gladly put this song up against any pop song from the last decade, this song will win every time.
Immaculate production, breaks, solid track, great harmonies, powerful lead vocals, incredible instrumentals, this song has everything you'll ever want in a track to storm the hit-parades.
This was part of our regular diet of pop music, there was variety but most of all, there was musicianship.
Explore some more from Bon Jovi, they have some great stuff waiting for you guys ;)

And of course, if you like a song in your car or in your house on the headphones, how much better is it to be in a stadium with 10 or 20,000 other people vibing with you and all the energy that is involved in that! 💜🎵

Wasn’t a huge Bon Jovi fan, but in summer 1986, 12yo, I remember where I was and what I was doing. That opening caught my attention immediately.

I remember this song. It was AWESOME. That is, until every third song on rock radio was this song, then I got sick of it. Now that I choose the songs, it's awesome again.

I was 21 when the song came out but I don't remember it as well as songs from high school like Def Leppard, the Cars, Journey, the Police, or Van Halen. It definitely rocks though.

I was 20 when this came out, but my brother was 7. I would go to pick him up at the bus stop in the afternoon, and the bus would pull up, blasting Slippery When Wet, and every elementary school kid singing at the tops of their lungs. It wasn't just teenaged girls that made this HUGE. It was also school busses in Connecticut...lol.

Queensryche on the Rage tour opening for Bon Jovi on this Slippery tour was just a killer show... so much high school nostalgia for this album... great riffs, bass, catchy lyrics, vocals and Sambora killing it on the guitar... and they always brought it live...

Great reaction guys!! This whole album was absolute fire! I remember when my sister brought this home, I was 8, she was 21 - we listened to it together on her stereo, then after dinner she had a date with her boyfriend - I continued listening to it on my stereo!
Other HUGE notables: Let It Rock, Livin' On A Prayer, Wanted Dead Or Alive, Raise Your Hand, I'd Die For You...this album was just ridiculous! S-tier for me! Cheers.

The second repeat "bad name" in the chorus is guitarist, Richie Sambora. At least live it was him. They used the same formula to fine effect on the "wanted" in "Wanted Dead or Alive."
