I hate this sentiment. I'm in my 50's and I find plenty of new music that has everything that the music I grew up with had. Yes, there is a lot more crap to sort through --- but great stuff is out there if you are willing to take the time and look for it. A lot of it isn't that hard to find either.

This song was written by Jim Steinman who wrote most of Meatloaf’s songs. I’ve been to 3 of their concerts, so great , they were outside in amphitheater all three times and had a laser show outstanding!!!

Over forty years later and his voice still sounds the same. They are still touring together. Saw them a few years ago.
I’ve also seen them a few times over the years they’re still doing pretty good. my mom really liked them a lot so I took her to a concert back in the late 90s she absolutely loved it.
I can't believe this song made me cry. I'm reminded of roller skating in the 80's with the girl that would become my wife. She passed away of cancer in 2014. In a way I'm glad she passed first. I would never want her to feel this pain for 10 years and 46 days...

The gist of the video is they met when he got out of the Army and had a kid, but it seems he never wanted to settle down, the baby toy reminded him he was trapped. But she was "Making Love" (A family type love) out of nothing at all, he wanted to rebel, she was the glue holding the family together. Surely a playlist song, its a song that praises the wife's hard job of parenting, and being a good wife. Look at the words it becomes more apparent, videos are mostly dumb tbh.

I can't lie. I'm baffled by the lyrics and the video together. I thought I understood the lyrics, but the video seems completely opposite to my interpretation of them. Unless he's singing her part. Then it makes sense.

Thanks for your reaction! This song was written by Jim Steinman (the man that wrote all of Meatloaf's songs) as most of Air Supply's songs are. Sad that Jim Steinman wrote the best power ballads of the 1980's for different artists and most people don't realize it or even know who Jim Steinman is- I wish he received more recognition.
I hate this video but love them and have seen them twice on their current tour. Still amazing in their 70’s! Sweet Dreams might fit better in your playlist.

This and Bonnie Tyler Total Eclipse of the heart came out around the same time both legendary and rocked my soul back then and were good friends to me , my first Girlfriend and my first wife...
the "rugby" comments are relevant to American football, too.

Next time you watch Air Supply, take note of Graham playing guitar. He's self taught and left handed, so he taught himself how to play a regular guitar left-handed, which means it's UPSIDE DOWN. They're amazing in concert.

Air Supply was a band very important in my junior high/high school years. A break up- listen to Air Supply- is how my friends coped! Beautiful music! My sister and I are going to see them in concert in June, and we are so excited!
Air Supply is a duo from Australia 🦘. A majority of their career saw slower ballads yet a great up tempo song is called Sweet Dreams. The keyboard intro is amazing. The main vocalist is named Russell Hitchcock.
When I was 17 in 1984, I hitchhiked from NY to LA. I was on my way to a friend's house in Granada Hills and I was picked up by a guy who went out of his way to take me there. He asked me what my favorite band was as we drove. I told him Air Supply and he got excited. He told me he worked with the band. He did the mixing on one of their albums. I asked him if Russell's voice was really THAT good or if it was achieved by mixing, and he told me it was all Russell, and he had no idea how he hit those notes. We pulled up at my friend's house and he asked me if he could touch my breasts before I got out. I just got out. When I went into my friend's house, I checked his Air Supply album, and sure enough, the man who had given me the ride- his name was on the album.

But I'm sure it's going to affect a bunch of people, not just me, but I'm going to spread it to help people when they are in need, because of what you went through in your strength. So just know that when things are not looking so great, you did something so strong A. Lot of women. A lot of anybody would be scared to. They might have done it just because they were terrified and let him do something to them, but your strength, it's going to strengthen other people. And I'm sure I'm not the only one who's affected by your story. But I'm going to share your story with people in my life when I see they nd to hear how u were strong and ur strength 💪 will help them to grab some of strength so they don't get abused. These guys are amazing in concert. I saw them in Biloxi, MS several years ago. They are in tune with the audience and they actually come and interact with the audience while singing the songs. By far, the most respectful humble singers around. Worth seeing in person.
Their first hit "Lost in Love" was absolutely beautiful. There is a video up of them live, complete with orchestra, where you can see that Russell Hitchcock's voice is one of those rarities that hits every note without flaw. His voice was amazing and so dreamy to listen to. Can't tell you how happy you and other reactors make me when you dig back into the oldies so thank you.
The lead singer still has the voice to belt out those high notes and the band is still touring these days. Always loved their songs.

They are Australian, still playing & were huge in the late 70’s & 80’s. Every song is amazing but the one that made them huge was Lost in Love. Then there’s All Out of Love & Every Woman in the World. Their voices are amazing.

Singing along with Air Supply is the best way to work off stress. Trying to hit those high notes, is like yelling at all the stupid people and things that stress me out. I have them on my playlist for this purpose.

Memories of my mom driving me to soccer practice. in our big yellow van... this song was on the radio everytime we turned it on, when I was a kid. Not really my thing today, but he has a great voice. They play this at work sometimes and it struck me that his tone reminds me of Davy Jones from the Monkeys..

I have every one of their albums (yes, albums). They were my favorite group growing up. Russell Hitchcock is the lead singer. The guitarist is Graham Russell who also does some lead vocals. They started out as a full band. After a few albums, the band disbanded and Air Supply became just the Graham and Russell. Graham is also a great keyboardist. They originated in Australia.
