Excelent video. I used it as a tutorial to update firmware on my Rebel T6, and got perfect from 1.1.0 to 1.2.0. Now I can use NFT on my Android 12. NFT is much easier and quick to connect the camera to smartphone than wifi, that all the time change its long password code. Thanks a lot for the video.
@@accessrandomHello! Recently I have been having focus issues with my t6i and someone suggested i update the firmware. However, in your video, I see that maybe I should not if it is only helpful for Android users? Just wondering if it is worth it for me to update it or not. ON the t6i did it update anything else that you know of? Asking @taoforadacasinha9422 as well since they had a t6i that was updated.
I have a question my question is will the 128GB SD card be able to update the firmware update to the latest update for the firmware for 2024 please and thank you.
i bought a used 800d canon dslr , i tryied many time to update to latest canon software firmware , version 1.10 !!! but the camera has allready version 7.3.9 6d (33) ... it seems it updates succesfully at the end of upgrade but when it reboots it shows the 7.3.9 6D (33) version every time i tried ... i search online for a solution but nothing !!! the camera works perfectly fine , it connects fine with latest android smartphones but the camera isnt recognized from pc eos utility with usb cable ... any reccomendations !!!
Did I understand you to say that if I don't have/use an Android device I can skip this update option? I am not having any problems with the camera. Thank you.
That's correct - this particular firmware update in the video (1.1.0) for this model (Rebel T7i) only had one enhancement for connecting to Android 10 using NFC, so you can skip this update.
If your camera is working fine I actually recommend not updating it. However, if you are affected by a problem that they fixed in a specific update (as shown at the 3:44 mark - but for your camera model), it might be worth it to update.
I did some research on google, and many suggested trying a different SD card, making sure the firmware was the only thing on the SD card, and updating without a lens attached. You may also want to contact Canon support directly with your specific model and the BIOS versions that you are updating to/from - to see if there are any dependencies on previous versions of the firmware such that you would need to upgrade incrementally.

Very helpful and I won't be updating as I don't use Android.

How necessary is it to update the firmware?

Ty 😊
74% sure this is the guy who does all the narration of the Star Wars documentaries.
My camera stuck at 99% until my camera off. What part of the problem do you think?

This is totaly ridiculous having to go through all this to install ma download. Not impresses with Canon, and certainly will not rercomend it.
