- This video focuses on how to repair a broken raised toilet flange. The flange in this video was made of PVC. The flange cracked after I installed the toilet. I had to remove the toilet and start over. The part used to fix the broken flange was under $5.00 from Home Depot.
Here is a link to the ring I used:

About eight years ago, one of the toilet flanges was broken, Luckily, I super glued it and it has been working so far.
Glad to hear it worked out!
@@LUKESTRONG4LIFE Tried that using a special commercial grade 2-part plastic epoxy, and didn't hold.
Is the #7530 Better Than Wax ring working out okay with this repair? I have the same broken flange situation (raised flange) and have used the same stainless repair ring from HD, but before setting the toilet, I've been trying to decide between a regular wax ring, wax ring with horn (which I'm leary of with a raised flange), or the #7530 Better Than Wax ring. This is an upstairs toilet, so don't want any leaks onto the ceiling below...which is what caused having to redo the toilet. BTW, it's a 35+ year-old Gerber, and looks like all original parts, including what was left of the old wax ring. I'm leaning toward a regular wax ring w/o horn due to the raised flange.
Good question. I can say, so far so good with the non-wax ring. It has held up great and the toilet gets A LOT of use. One big advantage is I had to reseat the toilet one time. With a wax ring, I would have had to use a new one. Good luck. Be well.
@4:30, Thank you for the video, what kind of screws that you used it and drill it out?
Hello, I actually used 2 1/2 inch coated exterior screws. I wanted to make sure they would not corrode. So far, so good. Working perfectly!
Improper fix. May work for right now, but that toilet will crack eventually.
Hi Justin. Thankfully so far, so good. No leaks yet. Holding tightly. I’ll keep my fingers crossed. Be well.
Thank you this was just what I needed I cracked my flange was wondering how to fix it or call the plumber guy again thank you
5am Sam So glad this helped you out. I was dreading the repair when this happened to me. I hope it all works out for you. Please let us know how it goes and share any tips you may have. Hopefully we can all help each other. Be well and take care!!!

Did you make sure you drilled into the concrete also to mount that stainless steel ring both to the floor and flange for more support.
Yes. Thank you. I did make sure I drilled through both. Much appreciated. Be well.
Did you have covid during the shooting of this video? ha. Jk. I'm about to attempt the same, thanks for the video.
Good luck. I hope it goes well. Mine has held up perfectly. No issues at all. Be well.
About COVID, I am not sure that I want to replace toilet by myself or hire a plumber.
@@HsingSun I am sure most plumbers would be very professional and wear a mask during installation.
Why am I getting a bad smell
If you are getting any odors, that means the toilet seat is not properly seated. The wax ring or rubber ring is not sealed. Remove the seat and use a brand new wax ring. Once you replace the seat, gently rock it back and forth while pushing down to make the seal. You should not get any odors if sealed properly.
That repair kit will rot and it is not water tight
Hello and thank you for the post. So far, so good on my repair. Not a drop of water. I will be sure to keep an eye on it. Besides the crack on the PVC, the pipe was very strong and there was no movement at all after screwing it down properly. Thanks again and be well. Happy Plumbing!
@@LUKESTRONG4LIFE Would have been a good idea to silicone between the pvc flange and stainless repair ring. Wax seal might have done that just by compressing, but since you used the waxless seal, i'm not sure it is 100% sealed.
@@marcbrazzers Thank you Marc. Good idea! Thankfully, so far, so good. No leaks. Be well.
@@LUKESTRONG4LIFE np just throwing out an idea for future repairs. It’s probably not necessary since looking at it again, the rubber seal diverts the flow of waste lower than where the flanges meet, so you should be good.
About eight years ago, I used super-glue to glue the flange and it has been working good so far.
