RAM 6.7 Cummins Intake Heater Grid P2609 Code and Xtool D7 Scan Tool

We clear a simple P2609 code after allowing the intake heater grid to cycle completely on a 2017 RAM 6.7 Cummins and tripping the check engine light (CEL). We use the very capable and affordable Xtool D7 scan tool.

So you have not had any major issues other then throwing a code from time to time and obviously can just reset it? Does it hurt anything if you still drive other then being annoyed by the check engine light on wouldn’t go into a limp mode of some sort right ?

Right, and it doesn't hurt anything to drive it with the CEL lit up.

Not sure, I had a 2002 5.9 and there was no heater grid issues for the 15 years I owned it. One helluva truck!

Here is what it is...................... you have way way way to many extra parts on that cummins. I own a 2012, that runs like butter. The trouble code should say U.S. Government.
