back in the early 80s, at around 10 years old, i had some bad flu, all day in bed, and my mom bought me a spiderman comic …it was just so great gift . thx u marvel for all the escapism.
Great interview. Marvel in the 60's was incredible and in the 70's they truly became phenomenal. 70's Marvel was just the right mix. There was no other feeling like how in the 70's I used to go to the corner store and come home with a stack of new Marvel Comics and prepare snacks for a great night of fantasy reading. By the mid-80's or so I stopped buying because comics just got too serious and the artwork got much worse. But thanks Stan, for setting off millions of imaginations, mine included.
I thought they were awesome in the '80s. I started reading in 1984 and enjoyed them for the next 10 years. Everything went to complete crap around 1994. The artwork got unsightly and the storylines became a total mess.
It's interesting to see that DC is back in the position of trying to emulate Marvel. Somebody need to show them this interview. Lol. I like DC, by the way. Just not as much as Marvel.
The interviewer seemed super nice

I was a Disney comics fan all my life but when I got sick in the early eighties I became a Peter Parker freak as well..

"The beginning ones weren't bad.. but i think the future ones will be much better" They were indeed, Stan. Thank you.
Yeah but then the MCU happened and it was all downhill from there.
