- Geiko Momizuru of Pontocho strums the shamisen as Ichisayo and Ichigiku of Pontocho demonstrate for the guests how to play a type of jankenpon game called Kitsune Ken. Maiko Kimika and Miyoharu of Miyagawacho join in the game.
Kitsune ken is like rock-paper-scissors but with a fox, a hunter and a villlager (I forgot exactly what type). The villager beats the hunter, the hunter the fox, the fox the villager.

Kimika-san was so soft and calm maiko. The way she spoke to Kobeicho-san was in a really soft, shy voice.
Beautiful and elegant. Deepest respect from a dog-eyed barbarian such as myself.
Kimika's kimono are so elegant, she was my favorite of Miyagawa, but sadly she is now retired
The game is similar to rock, paper, scissors, but the three hand positions signify a fox, a hunter, and a village headman. The headman beats the hunter, whom he outranks; the hunter beats the fox, whom he shoots; the fox beats the headman, whom he bewitches.[48][49]
It is like an "AU" of the Rock, Paper, Scissors game. ;P
It's like "stone paper scissors" but it that case there is a fox, a hunter and a town chief. The town chief wins against the hunter because he is his boss, the hunter wins against the fox because he shoots it and the fox wins against the chief because it bewitches him (that one it's because foxes were belived to have magical powers in the midle age japan)

I do not understand the game I am confused but very cool game
Toshiha-neesan, I noticed it seemed like in the first two games the players went twelve rounds then they only went eight afterward. Is there a certain number of losses in the game that judges who wins and loses overall or is it just a set number of rounds then on the last round you win or lose? (I do understand the characters and who wins against whom between the three characters, hunter, villager, and fox. That is far from what I'm asking as it seems even when one person loses they continue to play with that one person in several rounds.) [The other ozashiki asobi like Kitsune Ken is called Tora Tora only it uses your full body and is the tiger, samurai, and old woman.]
They play until one person wins three times. If they tie it adds extra rounds to the game.
I'm a bit puzzled. When do you decide who wins and who loses? It's a fun game, but that's the one thing I haven't quite figured out yet.
It's like rock paper scissors, Fox (the peace signs by the head as ears) beats, headman (hands on thighs and slight bow), beats hunter (holding "gun"), beats fox, the clap pass clap is like the "rock paper scissors." Before the shoot, hope this helped
