It tooks me a lot of time! :( I've had my haircut - tomboy hairstyle - so it takes me 30s to get my hair ready. How fast it is? Really fast! Anyway, love this video. It teaches me a lot about working effectively~ :D

Even if it s artificial, what the problem ? At every epoch, women, men and artists used artifices in clothing, hairstyle, make up (and so on..) to have the result they expected ! And Japanese people are the best i think about making look good and real what is in fact, fake and banal, for example they have tons of smart tricks used in Kabuki and the result is just sublime, if you know what i mean.

燈篭鬢と言って横の部分が大きく張り出した髪型が江戸中期に流行ったのですがクジラの骨を使ったりしていたらしいです。初期にはやった鶺鴒髱と言って後ろの部分が大きく伸びたような髪型の時は黒い髪とかで支えてたとか。

Actually, eventually the hair does fall out. Some of them have small bald spots..but they don't see it as anything bad. They kind of take pride in it.

It doesn't come out without ripping hair... This is a very stressful style for the hair and cannot be done without inflicting quite a bit of damage.
