You provided good solutions for maintaining balance and overcoming fear of falls. Some blood pressure medications cause dizziness that can lead to falls.
Yes, doctors mucking around with my blood pressure medication has not been pleasant. especially when they "just want to try a different medication" when the current regime is actually working but with an older type drug.
I've fallen about 3 times . Had some PT, and watched some therapy videos on RUclips. Now I've almost fell due to uneven walkway, but recovered. This video has some useful tips that I used myself shortly after being discharged from the hospital, due major stroke.
It's important to surround yourself with people who support & understand your independence. It's so tiring to come up against well meaning people who want to do everything for you. It makes you feel unseen & unsupported.
@@SherwinAlcantara-o8w An important lesson I learned post stroke is to be more deliberate in my decisions with the goal of healing & finding that new normal. Anything in my life that doesn't support that has to be let go of. Not easy at all but crucial especially for mental health.
@SherwinAlcantara-o8w Depression can be very difficult to overcome from by yourself. That's why it's important to talk to your doctor about medications or counseling that may be helpful. You don't have to do it alone ❤️
My problem is with therapists/physios etc insisting I have balance issues. I don't agree - I can't stand on one leg because I have severe arthritis in the hip on my non affected side. But I have found that when enough medical professionals insist on building exercise programs around my "balance issues" my brain - which is in rewiring mode - tends to believe it and I feel that my balance has got worse.
That’s a great question. I had a TBI, leaving me with stroke like symptoms. I am going to try it. I think it’s a “your mileage may vary”deal. But what the heck.
After stroke (in this year (march)) I get a way better body then past 10 years. Thanks too loosing mass and fitness. I reborn. It’s looks like extreme looksmaxing. 🎉
My 9 years old daughter got stroke after cardiac operation .. currently her affected leg has external rotation and still has no movement in her toes .. any sugesstion / ideas how I can help to restore her normal movement?! Thank you

Hi I love watching your video I ht a doubt I'm 58 years old and it's 8 years ago that got the stroke can I recover now if I start doing excercise actually because we couldn't afford it my physiotherapy stopped but now I'm planning to start doing some exercise will it work out
Recovery never stops...you have to constantly push and push the limits...set up a strict daily set of chores and do them... eventually you will master them...learn how to do skills differently!

Would you recommend accupuncture for post stroke symptoms?
