  • This is the review you've been waiting for! An honest review by an actual OWNER of the Rebel 1100...plus, it's MANUAL! Most of the reviews we've seen so far have been of the DCT model, and have been done by people who only put a few miles on the bike. Not this time! I already have over 100 miles on my manual Honda Rebel 1100, so I figured it was time to give my honest first impressions of my 2021 Rebel 1100!
I cover it all- the pros and cons, all of the riding modes, highway capabilities, performance around town, how it handles on the twisty back roads, the looks, the suspension, the seat, the color, the price, the technology, the exhaust, AND MORE! You name it, I'm sure I talked about it. This is the ULTIMATE first impressions review of the 2021 Honda Rebel 1100 manual model.
Now this is just my initial impression on my Rebel 1100- be sure to check back for my one month check-in review, plus all the mods I plan to do to improve on the weak spots of my Rebel. You won't want to miss this!
Be sure to subscribe if you haven't already so that you don't miss out on quality Honda Rebel 1100 content, and get ready for me to put this thing through the ringer! LET'S GOOO!!!!!

I got my red one yesterday, let my dad take around and he said the handling and center of gravity of the bike was insane. And he’s rode Harley 1200’s for years. He was shocked from this 1100

Well the DTC is good so peoples with some mailfunction (amputation and such) left leg so they can't use the gir shifter so don't be angry for that and Honda have done it possible so function fresh peoples and none can drive so this is nice :) i my self have no issues with if it is manual gear or automatic still i shoose the DTC because i am lazy :) I learned this from my ATV who have this all atv's have this DTC almost so this is a good ting.

The heavier front end you mentionned at around 8:00 is probably because of the 18in wheel. The overall diameter of wheel + tire is probably bigger than on the 500 so it has more inertia and you have to apply more force on the bars to turn the wheel. Just my guess.
Awesome review dude. I love this bike since Honda announced it and I am so happy that you're gonna ride and review it with all honesty. You earned a sub

I just got the 2022 version a few days ago (Metallic Brown color). Traded in my 2018 Rebel 500 to get it. Apparently, I am one of the first ones to get that year model (DEFINITELY first one at that dealership). Almost everything you've said in this video and some others has been pretty accurate! There were a few other things I didn't expect too. The clutch response caught me off guard the most. It was the easiest clutch lever I've EVER used! After the test drive, I fell in love and HAD to take it home!

I have a Triumph Bonneville SpeedMaster, I use rain mode when ever I’m beach-side cruising or in crowded slow traffic areas. Rain Mode calms the throttle response and makes it much easier to hold a steady slow speed. My bike only has rain and normal mode though, and normal is not tame.

Couple of notes. The forks appear blue in sunlight due to the nitride coating. Manufactures, Honda especially, tend not to put much effort into stock exhausts because they know most people will change them anyway. It's designed to meet EPA requirements and aesthetics are a last minute thing.

    • @leftymike8730
      @leftymike8730 3 года назад +2

@@crp9985 if you have piggyback shocks you should have settings to adjust preload, compression and rebound. Usually there will be knobs to adjust rebound and compression, preload is usually done with a spanner wrench on the bottom of the spring. Of course this may vary with each brand but that is the most common setup. I am not sure if the front suspension is adjustable on that bike.

Used a simple metal outlet cover you can buy at Home Depot, a hacksaw, a sturdy vise, some black electrical tape and about 15 minutes of my time. great vid mate! very nice bike. I agree I think they look awesome - and love the Harley shout-out! 🤣. I have to be honest, though. I'm not keen on parellell twin motors, but it actually sounds great and performs. anyhow cheers again.

    Great Review.
    2 questions:
    1) what's the HP and TQ?
    2) did you test drive the DCT? If yes, how did it shift? Crisp or more like auto?

  • @Rubiodiamante

A very comprehensive and honest review, mate! I took a test ride on the DCT version as the manual one was not available. The DCT version was somewhat weird especially when leaving from the traffic lights. The bike kind of kicked of at a higher speed than I gave it throttle. The dealer assumed it is the characteristics of the DCT. I definitely also prefer the manual transmission. The DCT was not my cup of tea. I look forward to getting the manual version for a spin.

It’s crazy that you mentioned that I am a experienced rider. last Thursday I had a issue with that to the point that it shot me into a car. I’m good just a little sore but I’m glad it was me instead of my wife cause it’s her bike.

Interested to see if playing with the suspension settings helped with the high speed bumps... that's the only thing that would put me off purchasing this bike.

I’m not sure why they keep pushing automatics it’s weird to me and it’s not just motorcycles it’s sports cars , pickup trucks , semi trucks and I will always prefer to row through my own gears , to me it’s part of the experience and control. New subscriber here.👍👍 I ride an 1984 Honda V65 Sabre it’s still running strong and reliable you just can’t go wrong when you choose a Honda.

How stiff is the clutch pull? Any jerkiness when switching lower gears? Good feedback on the clutch lever on the foot? Easy to find neutral? Would have been nice if your video covered these questions since it's specific to the manual transmission. Otherwise great video!

as far as I know, the front brake disc is a 330mm one which is considerably larger than most other brake discs.

Nice job on the review! Manual ftw! I found the Rebel 500 painfully cramped for my 6'1" frame, not sure the 1100 is a big enough upsize. And in Canada the pricing seems odd for this bike. The manual It is within $1K of the Triumph Speedmaster, so would be a tough sell, for me anyway... Lastly, when pulling away from a stop, left foot on the ground, right foot on the brake and you'll never have a problem on a hill or in the case you have to suddenly abort take off for any reason. Always makes me cringe seeing bikers with both feet on the ground when pulling away from a stop.

How is the speed compared to the 500? I have the 500 currently and actually really enjoy how light it is, and it can keep up with most cruisers without an issue. But for some reason I am still considering getting an 1100.

thx for video, I still don't know should I go with dct or manual, just cause of city traffic jams. Otherwise I really like bikes with a manual transmission, but sometimes it annoys me in stop and go situations in big cities

I am pretty sure they also went with a bigger set of pistons on the front break. I’m not sure if they went from dual to 4 pistons, but the brakes look much beefier.
The foot controls look super vulnerable to a snap if you drop it, but I don’t know if crash bars on it would look good.
The dash looks really nice, I have the 2020 500, and this dash is still a nice upgrade. Tach is the one thing I wish I had, even though you don’t really use it that much. Cruise control would be SO NICE though. For that I am jealous.
    Still low center of gravity?

Suggest you include bike specs on your next vid. i.e., weight, seat height, final drive (chain, shaft...) and so on.

What a fantastic review! This was very informative & helpful. Sucks the suspension isn't better, though. Hey, so you mentioned that it doesn't get blown around in the wind, but what about any buffeting on your upper body or helmet? I'm an inch shorter than you so I'm sure I can flat-foot it. I'm so digging this bike!

    • @raceboy1971

The suspension is fine if preload is set properly. You just have to know what you're doing.
