The only thing I hate about the rebel 1100 is that I DON'T HAVE ONE :(
Me too
I want one😭
Same lol..I have no transportation and I've been looking at that bike for awhile now
Ditto, but I want a manual transmission not auto
😂😂😂 high 5
16k miles.... that dude definitely would have the most solid opinion positive or negative. If negative, I can't see why he would suffer 16k miles over it unless it was something really minor. Very excellent video!
Funny story, I just bought this bike from that guy used with 25k miles. He truly loves that bike and hated to see it go.
Why’d he get rid of it?
Dude Mike... You're gonna go far on this platform. Keep it going, love the content
Thanks so much dude!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
@@LifeOfBurch
True. I’m not even interested in any bike except minimotos. I stay you and your commentary and video style.
I’ve had mine for just over a year. I love the power and the ease of riding through the twisty roads. My son on his Ninja 650 can’t believe how I lean the Rebel. I hate the seat and the foot peg placement. Forward controls are my next investment but T-Rex ones look clunky to me and I’m not sure how many brands make forward controls for this. The bike is just a joy to ride and I’ve owned many bikes over the years.
Felt so weird to be in a video haha banger video as always my dude
You were a natural! Haha appreciate you brotha!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I said it in the discord but the amount of names in the Patreon Fam from the first outro to now is crazy.
Dude it honestly BLOWS MY MIND every time I see it! Legitimately doesn’t feel real!! We’re getting close to 100 Patreon members 🤯🤯🤯
2 months on my dct, I love the comfortable riding position, two gripes are the brake pedal is way too high and I have to put my foot to the side, and wind buffet ting over 60mph. Love everything else. This is my second bike after selling my r3 with 23k miles haha
Why not just adjust the brake pedal?
Ever since I saw your live from forever ago where you mentioned that you synced up the intro to different things (clapping, dropping, etc.) now I cannot unsee it!
Hahah hell yea!! Then my work was not done in vain! 😂😂😂
I just got this bike maybe month ago? It’s INSANE how much I love it
Quickly got used to the DCT too after trying to reach for a clutch the first week or so haha
I've just added the T-Rex-Racing forward controls to my 1100 DCT. Game changers for me. The extra 5" forward position is awesome
I have 150 miles on my 2 day old DCT 1100. Already love it. A bit of a learning curve with no clutch but it's a blast so far and sneaky fast
I fixed my handlebar shake/wobble by switching out the tires. Put on Michelin Commander 3's.
I put metzler cruisetec. Better handling and more sticky.
Jan. i ride a Rebel 500. good to know about the tires. that wobble would scare the crap out of me.
I've had mine since February of last year. I love everything about the bike especially the handling and the power around the corners. The only three things I could complain about are the seat comfort on over 3 hour rides, the speed wobbles when you're heading towards the top speeds, last is the top speed of only 100. (101 if the wind catches you right down hill). I know that bike has plenty more to offer in the top end speed.
Wow..really, it'll only hit 100 mph? That's kinda depressing to hear as i'm considering buying one. Coming from 20 years on a Honda CBR954RR....i don't know if the Rebel will hold my attention. lol
i doubt its only 100mph, i reach 105 on my 500 a lot of times
@@dangerously72 Honda has a speed limiter programmed into the Rebel 1100 set at 99mph.
It can be reprogrammed but from factory it shuts down at 99mph and stops rolling power on at that point. It pulls well up to that point and can easily do more.
@@hpiguy Yeah....probably one of the most ignorant things i've seen Honda do in my lifetime. Won't waste my time on that 1100 then. Thanks for the input/reply.
@@dangerously72 it’s a pretty simple and inexpensive fix with a SpeedoHealer. It makes it so the speedo stops reading at 95, which lets the bike keep pulling indefinitely. People have had them up to 120+ now. Here’s a video I made on that- ruclips.net/video/wEHz4DtDawk/видео.html
Just got my 1100T yesterday.
Love it all, apart from the mid controls. Those will be the first thing to get changed out when I find forward controls that I like.
On my Rebel 1100: I love the DCT and handling! I hate the small volume gas tank!
Love ur videos…just made my first 600 mile on my rebel 1100 dct
from Milwaukee,Wisconsin
Wish i would have taken the right/left turn...and 'seen this as a member of 'whatever' i-bet-you-know! I drove it Chattanooga...even saw I-59 get backed-up! I was up Look-Out Mountain & Ruby falls area...and back route 11 south past De Soto and enjoin' the ride/except the sun-burn!😎
Nice interviews and meet up. Great to hear peoples honest opinion of the model (both DCT and manuals). Hope you did your "Distinguished Gentlemen Ride" yesterday and had a good time.
Thanks Paul! The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride went great and I should have that video up in the next week or two! 😎🤘🏻
@@LifeOfBurch I can't wait to see the outfits that you and everyone else wore on that ride. Very "retro" I'm sure.
I totally agree with Michael...I hate the mid controls and I have ordered forward controls....can't wait
I've seen a lot of reviews and today is the first time I've heard someone mention that it 'wibbles' at high speed.😎
I love how the Rebel 1100 is powerful, light, and nimble. But, at approximately 6’2” and 270 lbs, this bike looks & feels a little awkward. Duh, right? Nothing that a few mods won’t fix; so I added forward controls, a taller Corbin 2-up seat, and will soon add 2” risers and buckhorn bars to balance out the ergonomics. Also, the horn and exhaust sound weak, the stock seat was absolutely uncomfortable. Again, an easy fix. Mods are half the fun of owning your own bike!
I have a rebel 1100 for about a year now and I put 9000kms on it.
I like everything about it, except the jerky throttle and the uncomfortable cruise control buttons!
The things that I like the most are the low sitting position and the looks!
Never ridden a motorcycle, but I want one for trips up Pikes Peak, cruising the mountain towns, and some simple trails. Best I've seen that is capable of all is this 1100. (Yes I know it's not a off road bike, I've seen a few beef theirs up a bit though to compensate). Hoping to get one by next year!
I own an 1100 Africa Twin, but got to ride the 1100 Rebel a few times as a replacement vehicle. Gotta say, it's an amazing bike. But ever since I've ridden a Harley Street Bob and felt the shake on that thing, I could never ride one of these again. Great bike, but a chopper needs to rock! So if you're getting a chopper, might as well get a real one.
Love the bike just wish the gas tank was bigger.
I love everything about it, the thing I hate about it is I'm poor as fudge and can't afford one!!!
I'm in the same situation lol
Where is this at? I ask because that one guy said he was in "The Dragon", is he talking about "The tail of the dragon" here in North Carolina?
Love the video, It was great meeting you Nina.
Nice meeting you Brent! 🤘🏻
Awesome vid Mike, makes me really want to grab one.
I really love my 1100 2024, ive the batwing and lugage and no wobble at high speed! Nice agility way better than my ducati!
I’ve owned my 1100 manual since February of 22 I’ve put like 3k miles on it. I ride one hour to work and one hour back, and my biggest pet peeve is the seat. It’s so uncomfortable for anything longer than about 40 minutes and I wish it had a temp gauge so I could see what temp the motor is at. Other than that I love everything about the bike
Short of a full on touring bike… temperature gauge is a lot to ask for a cruiser, no?
I've had my DCT model for about 2 months now, approaching 1k miles. I love the power and how light it feels and easy to manuver. On the DCT model at least, I hate 2 things. 1 the seat....after 30 minutes you feel how uncomfortable it is. but no. 2 is what I really hate, I hate how sometimes it will shift while taking a turn. Seems to shift at very inconvenient times sometimes.
I hate the shifting also and that’s why I ride mine in manual
The high-beam indicator!!!! It is SO bright it is distracting at night
Mine two cents:
- pros - it's awesome overall, fast cruiser with good price (and even higher price right now according to honda here, so technically I can tell my wife that my bike is investment), DCT is awesome for quick riding on twisted roads!
- cons - I got DCT and can't drop rev bombs
Definitely some solid points dude! It’s funny, yesterday I was riding with my buddy who has a DCT 1100 and he was saying the same thing- he wishes he could rev bomb if a car were to cut him off or something since it’s louder than the horn.
@@LifeOfBurch it is possible to revbomb if you put neutral when you do full stop, or Ive seen on group that someone does extra gas+ drop gear, but I haven't tried that, got just 850 km now (first service on 1k km)
@@LifeOfBurch Easy way to solve that.. get an air horn.
Please ask for height for each rider from now on. Very inportant for 1100.
Love your channel
My main source of infos about 1100
Sold my 500, waiting for my 1100 to be delivered.
That first fella - where is his accent from?
Best regards from Ireland
Thanks for the love dude! You’re going to LOVE your 1100 when it comes in! I could be wrong, but I believe the first guy is just from New York 🤔🤷🏼♂️
750 miles in, the oem seat is getting better over time. Cruise control is hard to hit with the right hand and speed wobbles above 75mph. First bike and awesome bike.
I've had my Rebel 1100 for about 2 months and the only thing I don't like is that it isn't quite loud enough for other drivers to hear you. But other than that, she's a babe!
Such a fun weekend. Was hoping to watch this on dock st, but it's a mess down there
So much fun! I wonder why it’s a mess down there?
Tons of people, no parking what so ever.
Great reviews from owners!!!
What's that song playing at the end?
I absolutely love my 2022 Honda Rebel 1100 DCT absolutely love the power hate the seat and handlebars are way to forward I’m 5”5 so I need to get handlebars rising properly 3” or 4” and I need to get a mustang seat or Corbin seat
Since October, love everything.....except the seat and only when rolling the throttle hard. Needs more of a shelf to keep you in place.
Had a rebel 110 DCT - BEWARE
I owned a rebel 1100 DCT for a couple of months and had a major, major problem. I had my bike service at 450 miles. On my ride home I noticed that the bike DCT transmission was engaging while I was stopped. I ignored the issue hoping that it was an one off. After riding the bike for ~200 miles the DCT transmission engaged again while I was stopped and the bike transmission/power over rode the braking system (Front and Back brakes) and took off. I tried with all of my energy to stop the bike but it wouldn't hold. I ended up crashing into a wall, broke a couple of ribs and my collar bone. I do not know if this has happened to anyone else? There is no clutch to override so BEWARE and practice hitting the kill switch!
Definitely nice to get a few different perspectives!
Yessirrr! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
got one about a month ago and love it. My only complaint about it really is..... the range (compared to my last bike). I had a cb500f, and iv moved from a range of 450km, to about 180ish km.
Thats 300 miles down to 120 for non metric people. Hell of a downgrade. Other than that , love it. Fuel economy is pretty good though i have to give it that
Great content 🤘
I hope you took video of each bike to show what all accessories each owner added.?
Definitely a great video idea, update this one please
I don’t like the rear light. Really ugly. No easy after market solutions. I like that I don’t have any speed problems anymore, never passing 110km/h which is great for keeping my driving license! It’s a fun bike, just enough power to get a big smile. Nothing really bad to add, it’s a Honda, hence close to perfection 😁
Dang. Was almost hoping everyone got one in august and love the power while hatin the seat.
Imagine 😂😂😂
Had mind since Oct 22. Only 350kms yet short bike season in Labrador Canada lol.
Love the power, hate the seat, stiff suspension.
All of it I’ve sold it, I was disappointed by Hondas very slow accessories availability and disappointed the bat wing was not colour matched so I bought an Indian Chief happy days
do yall have short thumbs? i can easily engage the cruise control
Ive had my 21 CMX 1100 DCT since Sept, and the only thing I hate is the lean angle the way the handle bars are placed, i dont like leaning forward when I ride.......just a bit uncomfrotable....im 5'10", 190 lbs.....the DCT power is amazing!!
TY again for another great video.
Glad you liked it! 🙌🏻🙏🏻🤘🏻
That's awesome you guys! I didn't read all the comments but maybe I can throw my one sense about the issue on the wobble. Did anybody thought of steering dampener? Maybe some guys probably already fabricate one or there is plug and play that you can buy for rebel 1100.
I haven’t seen anyone do it yet, but I’ve been looking into doing it myself actually! 🤞🏻
@@LifeOfBurch would make for a great RUclips video
@@LifeOfBurch Let us know if you find and/or build one.....that sounds like a necessity of there's truly a high-speed wobble issue. I'm considering buying a Rebel 1100 this Fall or next Spring, but don't like the sounds of the wobble.
Good video bro I’m thinking about getting one
First hate was the seat. The accessory seat was more comfortable. Most expensive hate was painting the faring to match the bike. Best like is electronics. No one in its class has abs and cruise control standard.
Triumph T120 Another great bike!
Love that DCT, hate the seat shape, digs into the tailbone.
Hey burch! Im not trying to promote street racing but but lol I was wondering for those like me looking to upgrade there beginner bikes to something with more power but stuck between the rebel 1100 and indian scout/scout bobber twenty can we get a video comparison with pros and cons maybe at the end of the video test the 0 to 60 times on both and high way power?
Just got mine a week ago...and was sick till today...So - Only riddent 70 miles or so. Still getting used to no clutch (DCT model); storage has been an issue - getting them to lock or unlock easily -- maybe I'll get it figured out.
Your awesome. Super friendly. Great attitude. 😮
DCT is great for me because I'm too lazy to shift.
Mid controls are a real pain in the knees and may force me to learn how to ride manual on a shadow/boulevard
Have had mine sense February 2021, love the power and dct, hate that this bike has been nothing but bad luck for me.
that one guy mentioned the wobble. is that with all the 1100's, or maybe he has different tires?
Wao that bike looks and sound like maybe the best buy to do. I’m having a hard time deciding what’s going to be my last life time bike🧐🤔the Yamaha XSR900 or the Honda Rebel 1100.
Also have to say the seat is a pain in the ass!!! Literally!
I see what you did there 😂 Once you get that Corbin seat you’ll fall in love all over again though! Thanks SO MUCH once again for the loaner bike man! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Mike! You didn't interview ontherebel1100! Love that guy. Did he not want to be on camera?
I love him too! But yea we’ll just say he’s a bit camera shy 😅😂
Found you while looking at these bikes(ie it wasn't DCT,I wouldn't be looking, not into cruisers). Like, DCT,no chrome, proven engine, parts that you can use from other bikes (A/T headers, etc),simple design!
Hate; Gas tank, style and volume, I've just emailed FCR(France) to see if their much more stylish tank is available... that should also address the volume issue too? If it is, I'm in for a '23 bagger, if not, I won't be bothering (unless I can get similar made here, the guy is uber busy, probably a years wait?).
Did they ever respond about the tank?
Are they all DCT? Not a fan, I'm "old fashioned." Manual shift if fun.
if you ride distance the stock seat will have you laughing in halucogenic like state of pain in your buttocks region .. without a wind shield you will face alot of "riders" fatigue from wind. thats the 2 most impactful dis like with the honda rebel
Is it true that a Rebel 500 guy snuck in and they ended up beating him up?
Tires are what cause the speed wobble .
Where is the link for your merchandise?
Does anyone else think Honda needs to up the power of the rebel 11oo going forward to try and keep pace with the two new Harley sportster bikes?
A 100hp rebel 11oo…….?
Why? It's got a Governor set at 100 MPH. It's a Cruiser, not a Sport bike.
@@feloniousmonk3049 Cause people like more power.
A “cruiser” can’t go fast? The two new Harley sportsters and the rebel 11oo are all three built for speed and handling. None are traditional cruisers. There’s already a video of a guy figuring out how to bypass the governor on his rebel 11oo. People take Harley Davidsons “cruisers” all the time and do a “Harley build” to it, all in the quest for what? To just cruise? No, MORE POWER! There’s an entire industry built just to satisfy the demand for “more power”. 131ci crate engines, stage 1-4, 2 into 1 exhausts, air cleaners, cam swaps. People are constantly trying to get more power from their “cruiser” motorcycle.
Oh wait, I forgot, it’s a Honda. Never mind I guess. 🤣🤣🤣 “it’s a cruiser, not a sport bike.” It’s a MOTORCYCLE first. What a great spokesman you make for Honda.
Great video. Thinking of getting a Rebel myself, love the reviews and all the vids. But I am wondering if it might be too small for mee seeing as I am 6 foot tall. Dont know if u know any tall people that ride the rebel and what their experiences are.
So Burch is 5 11 and some of the guys in the video seem a lot taller than him , and they seem to like it, i love it but I’m short so can’t relate.
I'm 6'3" and 280lbs. My knees do hit slightly above the cutouts in the tank, otherwise it feels good.
My 1100 arrives in June. I'm 6ft but from what the videos show me, it should be fine. However, I've also order crash bars in case I drop it & they also double as extended foot rests. Looks killer.
🤘🐐🤘
Thanks for the replies guys. I hope to be able to do a test drive sometime in the next three weeks!
Crash bars might be a good idea for me too if they double as foot rests ;).
Simplest solution is simply planting yourself on the bike in dealership. If you can rent trial one for 24h, even better.
waiting for the next video.
You won’t have to wait long! I got like 4 videos just waiting to be edited! 😎🤘🏻
Great video, i cannot seem to find a black manual anywhere, red and stallion brown are available.
Me either!
Only things I hate is the gas tank and the handlebars. Just want at least half a gallon more capacity and at least 2in higher bars from the factory. Love everything else.
Agreed! The tank isn’t too bad for me since I don’t do many longer trips, but higher bars would be a big plus for me. I actually have some small risers I’ll be throwing on soon! 🤘🏻
They make 2 inch extensions for the handlebars. Just be sure to reroute the clutch and brake cables if you put extensions on otherwise it will cause cornering issues.
@@LifeOfBurch pleaseee do risers im dying to do them but need the lord and savior burch to show us
Buying a used 21 rebel 1100 dct (with 8pp miles) tomorrow for 8500 excited! Btw what state are you in burch?
Hell yeeaaa!! That sounds like a solid deal dude! I’m in Maryland 🦀🤘🏻
Ben, at 1.35 seconds, where did he get the back rest from? I like the triangle form of the metal.
I believe his is a custom one from Edward Ritchie on Etsy…99.9% sure anyway!
Dude definitely the stock seat is bad my butt and back after a 5 hour trip is like hurtttting
Yea R.I.P. to the booty after a ride like that on the stock seat 😂😂😂
I had one while mine was in the dealer having some parts fitted , I loved the power but hated everything else about it not my kind of bike .
I'm starting to think that I don't need an upgrade to the 1100.
I still have my 300 max speed around 85 90 realistically 80
Why would I spend another $6000 to go 20 mph faster and to go 0 to 60 1 to 2 seconds faster
I’ve had her 7 months at 18000 miles
Some reason ive been looking into this bike as a first time owner. Im 5"5 , do you guys think its a good size bike ??
What does the guy in the Honda shirt consider high speed? 90mph or regular high speed 70mph?
Did he figure out the high speed wobble?
Here you go!- ruclips.net/video/ThoLkjvmJw0/видео.html
im from NY. i need to know how you guys got your 1100s nearly impossible by me.
Link for the brotherhood
I'm curious as to why so many of you want to remove the governor when it's already got wobbles close to where it's governed...
Most wobbles at high speeds are comes from having cell mounted on the handlebars
the guy that "rode the dragon" last week... ....he's talking about in North Carolina, or Camden, NJ?
He’s talking about The Tail Of The Dragon that goes from TN to NC. Whats in NJ that’s called The Dragon? Now I’m intrigued 🤔
Such a natural!
Awesome vid! QUESTION: during your intro there is a red metallic 1100 behind you to (your) right.. what are those fairings on the lower front behind the front wheel? Those look awesome!
Pros: Power, easy to ride (DCT and love cruise control), ride modes for learning
Cons: Seat, horrible for my fat butt.

after owning my Rebel 1100 for 9 months now, its not a 'hate', but damn I wish it had a bigger gas tank. a 5G tank would be perfect, but, its just a nitpick.
Yeah, and the stock seat sucks.
I hate that my cruise control no longer works after burly brand fender delete.
You didn’t install the diode?
@@LifeOfBurch nope, is that why?
@@LifeOfBurch your video didn’t show it so I didn’t install it 🫣
@@PalavraVivaUSA yea my install video was before we figured out that was an issue. The new lights have a different draw than the old ones, so the cruise control module thingy sees that and thinks the brake lights are illuminated, which makes it think the brakes are engaged, so cruise control can’t be engaged…if that makes sense. Apparently it’s an issue with Goldwings as well, which is how we diagnosed it. The diode makes everything read correctly so that he bike will allow cruise control to engage. I still haven’t put mine in, but once I do there will be a follow up video.
@@LifeOfBurch please do!
I've had mine over a year now... Love the power and handling... I hate trying to get adequate storage space for longer trips, and I absolutely hate it having a chain and having to take care of that. Both of those hates together is making me look at new bikes, probably getting rid of my Rebel soon. I'll never buy another bike with a chain either...
for more context... I'm breaking 10,000 miles... I am also smaller and can barely get that thing up on a stand to clean and lube alone (have dropped it doing it before), and adjusting the back wheel for chain tension is such a major pain. Feel like I'm having to deal with the chain every weekend. I think its fine if you do few miles, but its not designed to ride as much as I do I think.
@@AyaWetts I feel your pain... The stand I have requires me to move the exhaust out of the way just to lift the rear wheel. What other bikes are you considering?
@@northofthecity21 not really sold on anything. I want some type of smaller and lighter touring type, not the giant 900lbs ones. Low seat height is a major plus because I am short, but I know how to hang off the side of bikes to hold it up if I have to 🤣. Everything is expensive though... I really like the new Harley Low Rider ST, if I want to wait like 4-6 months... I think it would look nice adding a tall sissy bar for pack up the luggage when needed. Was also looking at a BMW R 1250 RT, which is a cool bike with all the high tech, if not sort of tall... On the heavier side, I haven't ruled out a Honda Goldwing, the reverse gear looks useful for sure with that weight, doubt I could back it up otherwise... but I am still just thinking and researching. The prices for anything nice is what kills me though.
I dont have a 1100, mine is a 300, but I agree I hate the chain, as a guy that lives in a place without a garage and cant be doing dirty work in my apartment parking spot the chain is just a pain.
@@AyaWetts if you are still looking for something similar to the Rebel my recommendation would be the Indian Scout, really great bike and it has like 3 different style options (my fav is the Bobber version), the only bad thing about the scout is that Indian still offers the LED headlight as an accessory so if you want it it will be a little extra but the rest of the lights are LED already and its perfect, no chain either.
The wobble fix is in this youtube, "The TRUTH about the infamous Rebel 1100 speed wobbles"
10 months. 1200 miles
Love the power, ease of maintenance, corners well with plenty of torque
Hate: throttle feels plasticy. Lurchy at slow speeds. Annoying on cold starts. 100 mph governor. wobbles.
Despite those, Love the bike.
I agree with all of that 100%!! 🙌🏻🤘🏻
It’s limited to 100mph? Really? Wow I hadn’t heard about that
What does "plasticy" mean? Is the lurching from the ride by wire? Just curious.
@@bunnybunnybunny503 The throttle grip itself has quite a bit of free play in it. It rattles side to side and sounds plastic’y. When you’re moving, its a non-issue. obviously because of how torquey the bike is a stiff/over-responsive throttle can be a dangerous one. But i find that the 1100s throttle grip itself feels very cheap in comparison to other bikes it competes against.
Don’t get me wrong tho, this bike hits all the check boxes. And despite my small annoyances, i love it - so much fun. Fits like a glove. If ur on the fence, jump over. No regrets.
@@italkgory99 unfortunately, yes. Probably stability issues with putting a African twin on such a small bike.
the wobble is unpredictable at those speeds, and removing the governor makes me uneasy until this is addressed.
I’ve felt out the 500, I didn’t like how part of the engine sticks out where you set your feet; it’s uncomfortable. Anyone have a problem with this? Does the 1100 have this problem?
