    I love robert picardo..to me his acting is on the same level as what spiner did with data.
    I cannot imagine anyone else in the part. He so effortlessly brought a character that was not human and not alien but instead technology and made it so relatable...his struggle for humanity was so sad because you knew when the ship found earth he would go through a big loss.
    Love tng and voyager.

    I love these guys so much. To this day Voyager plays a massive roll in my life and I rewatch it whenever I have the chance. Voyager is more than just a Star Trek series. Voyager always feels like a safe place, a family if you will, that is there for you when you need it. SO much love goes out to all of them.

    • @Jeng4280
      @Jeng4280 9 лет назад +19

      Yes. This show was my life back in HS. Just like for one of my friends(Dirty Dancing was her life), Voyager was my life. :) I loved this cast so much and could always rely on them when things weren't so great for me. The show made me realize I wasn't alone. I was basically an outcast in HS and it was really hard for me to make friends. The only friends I made were the foreign exchange students that came in but eventually they left leaving me alone to my own advices. Voyager was the show that kept me going and grounded. It influenced me a great deal and helped me to pass Science and Math classes!

    Star Trek: Voyager was the show that introduced me to Star Trek!
    I couldn't have been older than 5 or 6 when my mom started watching it, that's when it aired in Sweden. When my dad worked late night, mom used to allow me to stay up and watch it with her, and I liked it allot, even though I didn't understand English at the time, and I was too slow to read the subtitles. Years later I started collecting Voyager on DVD boxes, one season at the time, because they costed like $100, and I had to save up for most of them myself! But yeah, I binged those boxes over about 24 hours maybe when I got them! Good times.

    • @raptor182cmn
      @raptor182cmn 8 лет назад +5

      I'm probably 20 years older than you but I too have fond memories of Voyager. After Voyager ended I started using Napster and Limewire to download all seven seasons one episode at a time. The internet speeds were still pretty slow and I had to wait for days and sometimes weeks for some episodes to download and when they did many were really poor quality and hard to watch. I love watching Voyager on Netflix now. I need to upgrade my sound system though. I always loved the hum of Voyagers engines on my parents surround sound.

    I love how, on screen, they're serious and almost nothing like they are off camera. Off camera they have fun and joke around. They're all riots! The transition from Janeway to Mulgrew, Chakotay to Beltran, Kim to Wang, etc. is just amazing. They're almost nothing like the characters. This isn't necessarily a bad thing because it just goes to show what great actors they are.

    • @wildbillhackett
      @wildbillhackett 7 лет назад +4

      Yeah. it was one of the better ones. But let's be honest, not one sci-fi outer space TV series ever made has been anything to write home about. They're all geared toward children. And now things are worse than ever. Voyager was one of the better ones, but it's nothing I can get excited about as an adult. Granted I haven't seen any episodes of Childhood's End yet. I'm hoping it will be more intelligently done, but I'd bet my bottom dollar that some idiot of a screenwriter will destroy the original story and screw it up royally. They always do.

      His Vulcan character laughs in a few episodes, usually when his Vulcan mind has somehow become f*cked up. For example: in S07E16-17 "Workforce", he laughs at a lame joke after his memory is tampered with, supposedly to treat "Dysphoria Syndrome" but actually done to get him to work at a plant. See also: S06E06 "Riddles" (in which he regresses to a childlike state after suffering neurological damage from weapons fire, and is cared for by Neelix (very funny)) and S02E16 "Meld" (in which his brain becomes messed up after initiating a mind meld with a serial killer).

      Kate Mulgrew is a wonderful lady. I met her 4 yrs ago in Chicago at my very first convention (sadly, my one and only time going to a convention), I got my picture taken with her and she was really sweet. I had injured my knee earlier that day and when my turn came to get the picture taken, I had to be helped because it hurt to walk, and when the volunteer brought me to Kate, she told the lady, "thank you, I have her now" and she put her arm around my waist to help me stay standing up. Right before they took the picture, She asked me what happened and I told her (my knee popped on me and I fell) and then I told her I felt really embarrassed because I'm not used to needing help. She told me not to be embarrassed because everyone needs help at some point. Then she asked if she would see me at the autograph signing. I told her yes (ended up having to use crutches that the medic at the hotel gave me, but I got her autograph, thanked for being so kind to me and that was it. It was the most memorable experience I ever had.

Thank you for all the time you have given me and your other fans in entertainment and keeping us looking to the stars and dreaming. They thanked me for not being a rabid gushing fan and drooling all over them, I think I responded ewww, messy with a sour face at which point we all lost it and started cracking up. They turned out to be a great bunch of folks and really fun to hang with for awhile. (edited to spell correct).

    Voyager, to me, is a family. A family of friends, loved ones. The Lady Voyager Herself was, and is, full of hope, love, adventure, grace, humanity, being humane, kind. Voyager is still a Heroine to me. She protects those who inhabit Her; She's there to see Her crew to new adventures, and to help others in need. I was bawling and crying when the show ended, so sad that their adventures were at an end. But, then I realized, I could always go back to visit the crew, and to see them in their best moments. I'll always love Voyager. Watching Her soar through space, always on a mission to help. Perhaps it's not always about the destination. Maybe.....maybe it's about the journey.....

And this cast will never get old in my book! They all look great to me here. A few lines here, little gray there. It adds character and pizazz I think. But I'd love to hang out with this cast for a day. At first I'd be a nervous little Nelly because they are my favorite cast in Trek as opposed to TOS which I also love dearly and grew up watching in syndication. I really wish Robbie McNeill, Roxann Dawson and Jeri Ryan could have been there. I know Jen Lien is fighting a coo coo battle at the moment. I feel for her-bless her heart! TUMBS UP , if you want a spin-off or re-start of VOYAGER !
    A new show where Admiral Janeway ( in the first episode ) gives Voyager's "key's" to Harry Kim ( the new Captain of Voyager )
    Where Captain Kim engages to the Gamma or Beta quadrant to explore new adventures .....
    Garrett Wang ( Harry kim ) is "young enough" to pull this off !
    Also Scarlett Pomers ( Naomi Wildman ) can be on this new show .
    Does anyone knows , How can we request this ( Voyager spin-off ) to the Star trek producers ? I really think it is gonna be a great succes !!!

    I DO think there was a marked difference in Janeway from the first season and the remaining 6 seasons. She became more than just their Captain. She became a friend....a mentor....a mother figure (to all of them, but especially to Seven and Kes) She became a warrior. There was a certain softness about her that she lacked in the first season and it made her someone you felt you could trust when things went crazy (and I think Kate Mulgrew's decision to give Janeway that personal life, away from being Captain really helped bring that softness out) .....but there was also a visceral strength and power about her that commanded respect.....even when faced with the Borg and the Kazon and the Hirogen and Species 8472 and even the embodiment of Fear itself.....she knew she could overcome them. She made a promise to get her crew....her family home again and she absolutely kept her promise.
