I had surgery and 6 months chemotherapy until March 2020. Since my surgery Every 3 months I took CT scan. its been 3 years now and I do not cancer, I need 2 more years to say I am cancer Free! This Sunday , I will have CT scan in MD Anderson. I contacted Costco and Perrigo Company who makes minoxidil! They said Minoxidil is not for my beard or Mustaches, Its for head hair loss! They asked me to read the label! Yes that is true . It is for head not any other part of your body! I watched RUclips videos before I used the Minoxidil. Caesar ,Please spread the word and Do the right thing! Minoxidil IS NOT for beard or mustache!

@@brycewalters4924that’s normal. The hair that sheds are immature. They shed to allow them to come back stronger and thicker. The shedding will stop within 2 months of starting, you just need to be consistent long term. Don’t forget to dema roll twice a week
Good man. You doing this will stimulate facial hair that’s on your face but it’s not awake yet , that’s what this product does awakens hair that isn’t growing yet I don’t know why this happens but it does.
I’m close to hittin 4 months and minoxidil really helped my beard grow out more, and faster. Before I used it, it would take like 2 months for my beard to fully grow out, and my right side would be a lil patchy. But now it grows out a lot in only 3 weeks, and it’s no longer patchy. I had heart palpitations prior to using minoxidil occasionally (anxiety related but heart conditions do run in family). I've been using minox about 3 months now and haven't noticed them get any worse.
Minoxidil is a potassium channel opener, that means it affects the potassium in your whole body, which your heart uses to contract and relax correctly. The palpitations are most likely a result of an imbalance in potassium caused by the drug.
I can see a definite difference between between one year and 18 months. In my opinion it is definitely thicker. It's about the same length but to me it is definitely thicker.
A minor correction: you only need to apply it once a day. The half life of minoxidil in your body is 22 hours so once a day is pretty safe. Even if you skip a day or two it won't change the results because the way beard grows. I learned this from the doctor who worked in the creation of minoxidil. He has a channel on yt too. He said back in the 80's they didn't understand correctly how minoxidil works in our body and they had to create a standard for testing so they came up with the "1ml twice a day". Actually the correct method, according to him is "apply a small amount of the product to cover the intended area once a day". I followed this method and it worked perfectly. I'm using it for 8 months now and thinking when I should stop. I didn't notice any change after the sixth month, but I guess I'll keep using for 1 year and some months just to be sure.
@@CesarCinema New to the channel here. Have you used a derma roller with it? Doesn't it like increase minoxidil efficacy by about 4 times. Plus after stopping minoxidil you can still derma roll for life, once a week to maintain and maybe even improve on existing results. After all, both methods end up increasing blood flow to the face.
Well the official information is that you should use it twice a day. Some say using it only once a day are giving them great results, while others are saying using it twice a day really accelerates the results. I don't know what to believe, but well it's better to having too much than not enough.
I’ve been using it since december and wow does it grow quick. I still have a long way. Before using it, I didn’t have any hair ob my cheeks but now you can really see it.
Don't worry dude, if you're reading this, the patch on you're right side isn't bad at all, I can't notice it without you pointing it out, and when its longer you can't notice it at all. Really good video here, but I'm glad you said to use it for a long time. Most of the horror stories I see were guys only using it for a few months, but all the ones I've seen that have used it for years don't seem to lose any hair.
The patch you have on the right side could be alopecia areata. I got it on my beard after a stressful year. I got several patches like that, on my neckbeard (3) and on my cheeks (2). I already had a full beard. I got injections of corticosteroids (3 times). After three months (first session), I began to get my beard back. Now the doctor told me to add minoxidil to help it, and I have two more sessions.

If you all are serious about using this for beard growth you will need to use this for 2 years too insure good terminal hair growth. I noticed it took over a year and half to really see a meaningful difference. Once the hair becomes terminal it's there for good even if you stop. As far as where to apply it, I only applied it in areas you need growth. This stuff enters the bloodstream and it will grow hair in other areas that hair should normally grow. You need to stick with it for this time as once it's done you have a full beard for life. Another tip I found appeared to help was let your beard grow out no matter how patchy for at least 2 months the shave it down to a stubble and let grow again. This seemed to promote more growth for me. Be sure your skin is totally dry when applying foam which I feel is better than liquid. Just an idea. Goodluck
I've kept my beard growing for 5 whisky using minoxidil I habe it seems if you let your beard grow put more and use minoxidil it grows faster its working for me when I first used it I kept shaving I did I saw no results what so ever it forever to see change I've been using it for 5 months atleast

Minoxidil beards don't go away. You have to do if till the vellus hairs turn terminal, that's when it's really dark. I did it for 6 months a few years ago and I got some great results...I've shaved a few times after stopping and the hair I gained through minoxidil grows back along with every other hair on my face. As long as you can put up with the tiredness you feel with minoxidil I'd recommend anyone who can't grow an actual beard to do it. I forgot to mention that I applied it only 1 a day everyday for 6 months..cuz I couldn't handle the tiredness (it was worse for me because I have insomnia)
I've been using it for 6 years minimum and I still have spots that are filling in very slowly. It was a learning experience for sure and I gained a lot of knowledge with it. Hairs will fall out if they're not terminal so make sure to stick with it. How to tell if hairs are terminal? You need good lighting but you can see the fully grown hairs are thicker and darker as opposed to light and thin. I recommend the liquid as the foam is hard to spread when the hairs get long. I used more to help it spread and ended up with vertigo for 2 days because I didn't know it was from too much Rogaine. Rogaine lower blood pressure so too much is not good. Also no shaving! The hairs will take that much longer to become terminal. I learned the hard way. Always apply at least 2 hours before bed. Don't touch your face or wash it off for at least 6-7 hours. Use lotion when its fully dry and make sure the dry skin doesn't get everywhere as it could be embarrassing and get stuck in your beard hairs. Yikes!
Once in a while I would skip 1 application but rarely would I miss both. After the first year I did stop for a few months and hairs fell out but ultimately I still had more hair than when I first started. 2 years is a minimum imo, its more like 6 if you want to keep gains. I'm sure there are other things that can help grow hair like biotin or pumpkin seed capsules

On my beard journey as well. I can grow a goatee no problem but my cheeks are patchy. I don't have male pattern baldness, I have a full head of hair, just working on my beard growth. This video helped explain. Few things. Great video.
I used minoxidil for two years straight twice a day and went to once a day for six months. It’s been a month since I stopped completely and it looks fine and hope that it stays that way

After watching this and a couple other videos I decided to try minoxidil 1 year ago. After this time I can say that my beard is thicker, more dense and less patchy and, even though It doesn't grow much longer, I am satisfied with the results, except for a stubborn patch on my left side where the mustache joins the beard. I've also noticed that my incipient baldness has halted. I'm planning on keep using the product for while.

Good video. I agree, your terminal hair will stay and beard progress will remain. Losing vellus hair is actually good post minoxidil because it will speed up the transitional hair process. Sometimes using the minoxidil for long periods will help the vellus hair stay intact and grow longer then usual and therefore delaying progress. I learnt to use minoxidil for 4-6 months on, then 4-6 months off. Ovwr a 2 year period and it has worked well for me. Only bad side affects ive had are dark circles under eyes and a few headaches in first week or 2.

I didn’t use the dermarolker while using minoxidil. I did hear of people using it the same day though. I’m about to start the derma roller. So I’ll see how it goes for me.

Hey! I'm at my mid 20s rn, I got a decent beard already but it gets patchy on the upper cheek, my moustache takes like 4 days to grow after I shave it but it doesn't get very thick. Been thinking about starting minox but the side effects topic has me paranoid, besides, I'm not really sure if I might be too young to start using it. Should I give it a shot or is it better to wait a couple years?
I used 5% Minoxidil (Foam) for 4 months consistently (Day/Night) I only used a derma roller 1-2 times throughout that 4 month journey - This was back in 2018. Prior to my 4 month journey I could only grow thin sideburns, moustache and chin hair now I can grow a full beard that connects. I haven't used Minoxdil in years but can still grow a beard with ease. The vellus hairs became terminal after 2 months. I wish I kept going but I'm going to start my journey again now and this time use a derma roller. I'm hoping I'll be able to grow more facial hair higher on my cheeks.

From my experience i was prone to getting acne and bumps on areas i have used it. When i stopped all the new hair that grew fell out including some healthy hair. My hair looks worse than before. Shouldn't have used it. Just sharing my experience :) all the best

At 3 months you'll probably be getting some bum fluff in areas but its not really long enough for them to become terminal yet, just keep going with it 👌
So based on the comments, your beard looks great. But you could be doing some spot treatment to that spot. Goign to see if you have any updated videos to see if that spot went away.
Both me and my brother genetically can grow a beard but he had trouble growing more than little thin hair follicles (but the hair was there) and i had easily grown a full goatee and mustache but had the little follicles as well on my cheeks so we both decided to use minoxidil to speed things up, to keep it short we both grew full beards 3-4 months. Once we had the beards we stopped using it but the hair completely started thinning and it looked like some fell out. We decided to clean shave (except my goatee I didn’t apply any minoxidil on it at all ) and now we’re both rapidly naturally growing full beards again with thick mature hairs so i guess it worked out in the end all we use now is beard oil and the hairs are growing better than when we were on minoxidil. (That’s our experience) *MIND YOU WE APPLIED IT ONCE AFTER WE SHAVED AND BOTH GOT HORRIBLE ACNE OVER NIGHT* that’s why we started using beard oil instead and it seems to be growing better anyways
How old are both of you? I have the same issue with weak hair growth on the sides of the cheeks, but mustache/goatee area is fine. It takes me FOREVER to grow beard hair on the sides. So you are saying that you lost the gains after using it? And how long did you use it total? 4 months? Did you stop completely? Or have you gotten back on it? I've been hearing if you stop using it, everything reverses 😞and you start losing the hair.
@@snakejuce I’m 20 and he’s 17 (we’re fairly young and apparently it’s not recommended but what I’ve heard even from older people is that most have the same result) he used it for a little over 4 months but less than 5 and I used it for over 3 but under 4, and I’m not even going to lie the results were undeniable (full beard although the hairs by no means felt strong or mature they always felt very fragile) now given that it’s not too well tested on facial hair we were concerned on the long term side effects (which we didn’t have any) so after those 3-4 months we stopped using it completely and after like one month the hair started becoming extremely thin and it looked like it was falling out. So we decided to clean shave (except my goatee) and after the clean shave we applied the minoxidil again only one time and that was before bed but my brother got a HORRIBLE acne outburst over night i mean like BAD and my whole face went numb then it felt like it was on fire. We haven’t used it since but now we have the hair growing back extremely thick and full without the minoxidil (not sure if it was because of the past minoxidil use or not) all we use now is beard oil, I use the beard club growth oil and my brother uses a combo of 2 all natural oils. The hair is not growing as quick as when we were on minoxidil but it is growing at a way better quality. If you were to start using it COMPLETELY AVOID putting any on already existing hair in your case the goatee and mustache. If you have any other questions or concerns just let me know👍🏼

You know what's funny? Right before reading this notification from you, I quite literally found some minoxidil in the bathroom (my younger 20 year old brother uses it for his scalp hair though) and I put a few drops and rubbed it into the cheek area. My face is mad sensitive so I figured I'd probably feel some type of way or itchy, but the itch has went away or maybe I just didn't put enough. Oh well, I'll use it every now n then see what the vibe is. Hopefully it works. I'm 29 and I look like a 21 year old, it's mad annoying lol.

it actually works. worked fast for me. I never had any hair on the side before starting. Now i do. works well on the beard and mustache and it'll never fall off or stop growing, but hair on the scalp is a different story. It'll literally stop growing and will start to fall out. Just be careful not to get any of these stuff on your chest. I started growing hair there and was hoping it'll disappear. Nope it never did. You have been warned! lol

Minoxidil is a potassium channel opener, that means it affects the potassium in your whole body, which your heart uses to contract and relax correctly. The palpitations are most likely a result of an imbalance in potassium caused by the drug.

I can see a definite difference between between one year and 18 months. In my opinion it is definitely thicker. It's about the same length but to me it is definitely thicker.

A minor correction: you only need to apply it once a day. The half life of minoxidil in your body is 22 hours so once a day is pretty safe. Even if you skip a day or two it won't change the results because the way beard grows.
I learned this from the doctor who worked in the creation of minoxidil. He has a channel on yt too.
He said back in the 80's they didn't understand correctly how minoxidil works in our body and they had to create a standard for testing so they came up with the "1ml twice a day". Actually the correct method, according to him is "apply a small amount of the product to cover the intended area once a day". I followed this method and it worked perfectly. I'm using it for 8 months now and thinking when I should stop. I didn't notice any change after the sixth month, but I guess I'll keep using for 1 year and some months just to be sure.

Plus after stopping minoxidil you can still derma roll for life, once a week to maintain and maybe even improve on existing results.
After all, both methods end up increasing blood flow to the face.

Don't worry dude, if you're reading this, the patch on you're right side isn't bad at all, I can't notice it without you pointing it out, and when its longer you can't notice it at all. Really good video here, but I'm glad you said to use it for a long time. Most of the horror stories I see were guys only using it for a few months, but all the ones I've seen that have used it for years don't seem to lose any hair.
The patch you have on the right side could be alopecia areata. I got it on my beard after a stressful year. I got several patches like that, on my neckbeard (3) and on my cheeks (2). I already had a full beard. I got injections of corticosteroids (3 times). After three months (first session), I began to get my beard back. Now the doctor told me to add minoxidil to help it, and I have two more sessions.

If you all are serious about using this for beard growth you will need to use this for 2 years too insure good terminal hair growth. I noticed it took over a year and half to really see a meaningful difference. Once the hair becomes terminal it's there for good even if you stop. As far as where to apply it, I only applied it in areas you need growth. This stuff enters the bloodstream and it will grow hair in other areas that hair should normally grow. You need to stick with it for this time as once it's done you have a full beard for life. Another tip I found appeared to help was let your beard grow out no matter how patchy for at least 2 months the shave it down to a stubble and let grow again. This seemed to promote more growth for me. Be sure your skin is totally dry when applying foam which I feel is better than liquid. Just an idea. Goodluck

Minoxidil beards don't go away. You have to do if till the vellus hairs turn terminal, that's when it's really dark. I did it for 6 months a few years ago and I got some great results...I've shaved a few times after stopping and the hair I gained through minoxidil grows back along with every other hair on my face. As long as you can put up with the tiredness you feel with minoxidil I'd recommend anyone who can't grow an actual beard to do it.
I forgot to mention that I applied it only 1 a day everyday for 6 months..cuz I couldn't handle the tiredness (it was worse for me because I have insomnia)

I've been using it for 6 years minimum and I still have spots that are filling in very slowly. It was a learning experience for sure and I gained a lot of knowledge with it. Hairs will fall out if they're not terminal so make sure to stick with it. How to tell if hairs are terminal? You need good lighting but you can see the fully grown hairs are thicker and darker as opposed to light and thin. I recommend the liquid as the foam is hard to spread when the hairs get long. I used more to help it spread and ended up with vertigo for 2 days because I didn't know it was from too much Rogaine. Rogaine lower blood pressure so too much is not good. Also no shaving! The hairs will take that much longer to become terminal. I learned the hard way. Always apply at least 2 hours before bed. Don't touch your face or wash it off for at least 6-7 hours. Use lotion when its fully dry and make sure the dry skin doesn't get everywhere as it could be embarrassing and get stuck in your beard hairs. Yikes!

Once in a while I would skip 1 application but rarely would I miss both. After the first year I did stop for a few months and hairs fell out but ultimately I still had more hair than when I first started. 2 years is a minimum imo, its more like 6 if you want to keep gains. I'm sure there are other things that can help grow hair like biotin or pumpkin seed capsules

After watching this and a couple other videos I decided to try minoxidil 1 year ago. After this time I can say that my beard is thicker, more dense and less patchy and, even though It doesn't grow much longer, I am satisfied with the results, except for a stubborn patch on my left side where the mustache joins the beard. I've also noticed that my incipient baldness has halted. I'm planning on keep using the product for while.

Good video. I agree, your terminal hair will stay and beard progress will remain. Losing vellus hair is actually good post minoxidil because it will speed up the transitional hair process. Sometimes using the minoxidil for long periods will help the vellus hair stay intact and grow longer then usual and therefore delaying progress.
I learnt to use minoxidil for 4-6 months on, then 4-6 months off. Ovwr a 2 year period and it has worked well for me.
Only bad side affects ive had are dark circles under eyes and a few headaches in first week or 2.
Take collagen for the dark circles. I take it and i dont have those.

I didn’t use the dermarolker while using minoxidil. I did hear of people using it the same day though. I’m about to start the derma roller. So I’ll see how it goes for me.

I used 5% Minoxidil (Foam) for 4 months consistently (Day/Night) I only used a derma roller 1-2 times throughout that 4 month journey - This was back in 2018. Prior to my 4 month journey I could only grow thin sideburns, moustache and chin hair now I can grow a full beard that connects. I haven't used Minoxdil in years but can still grow a beard with ease. The vellus hairs became terminal after 2 months. I wish I kept going but I'm going to start my journey again now and this time use a derma roller. I'm hoping I'll be able to grow more facial hair higher on my cheeks.

Both me and my brother genetically can grow a beard but he had trouble growing more than little thin hair follicles (but the hair was there) and i had easily grown a full goatee and mustache but had the little follicles as well on my cheeks so we both decided to use minoxidil to speed things up, to keep it short we both grew full beards 3-4 months. Once we had the beards we stopped using it but the hair completely started thinning and it looked like some fell out. We decided to clean shave (except my goatee I didn’t apply any minoxidil on it at all ) and now we’re both rapidly naturally growing full beards again with thick mature hairs so i guess it worked out in the end all we use now is beard oil and the hairs are growing better than when we were on minoxidil. (That’s our experience) *MIND YOU WE APPLIED IT ONCE AFTER WE SHAVED AND BOTH GOT HORRIBLE ACNE OVER NIGHT* that’s why we started using beard oil instead and it seems to be growing better anyways
How old are both of you? I have the same issue with weak hair growth on the sides of the cheeks, but mustache/goatee area is fine. It takes me FOREVER to grow beard hair on the sides.

@@snakejuce I’m 20 and he’s 17 (we’re fairly young and apparently it’s not recommended but what I’ve heard even from older people is that most have the same result) he used it for a little over 4 months but less than 5 and I used it for over 3 but under 4, and I’m not even going to lie the results were undeniable (full beard although the hairs by no means felt strong or mature they always felt very fragile) now given that it’s not too well tested on facial hair we were concerned on the long term side effects (which we didn’t have any) so after those 3-4 months we stopped using it completely and after like one month the hair started becoming extremely thin and it looked like it was falling out. So we decided to clean shave (except my goatee) and after the clean shave we applied the minoxidil again only one time and that was before bed but my brother got a HORRIBLE acne outburst over night i mean like BAD and my whole face went numb then it felt like it was on fire. We haven’t used it since but now we have the hair growing back extremely thick and full without the minoxidil (not sure if it was because of the past minoxidil use or not) all we use now is beard oil, I use the beard club growth oil and my brother uses a combo of 2 all natural oils. The hair is not growing as quick as when we were on minoxidil but it is growing at a way better quality. If you were to start using it COMPLETELY AVOID putting any on already existing hair in your case the goatee and mustache. If you have any other questions or concerns just let me know👍🏼

You know what's funny? Right before reading this notification from you, I quite literally found some minoxidil in the bathroom (my younger 20 year old brother uses it for his scalp hair though) and I put a few drops and rubbed it into the cheek area.
My face is mad sensitive so I figured I'd probably feel some type of way or itchy, but the itch has went away or maybe I just didn't put enough. Oh well, I'll use it every now n then see what the vibe is. Hopefully it works. I'm 29 and I look like a 21 year old, it's mad annoying lol.
@@snakejuce yeah man no problem it definitely worked but given the fact that it’s not too well tested on the face area we decided to stop, but now our facial hair growth is doing better than ever after we shaved (not my goatee lol) and stopped using it. And yeah man I've made it a conscious decision for a few years now to either not use anything with chemicals on either my scalp or face...but if I NEED to for whatever reason than I limit the hell out of it.
Edit: the way I see it is, if the ingredient list looks like a paragraph or two....it's probably not good for the skin/follicles/body.

it actually works. worked fast for me. I never had any hair on the side before starting. Now i do. works well on the beard and mustache and it'll never fall off or stop growing, but hair on the scalp is a different story. It'll literally stop growing and will start to fall out. Just be careful not to get any of these stuff on your chest. I started growing hair there and was hoping it'll disappear. Nope it never did. You have been warned! lol
