I had no idea there was so much science and artistry to facial hair. Great video, although I wish he mentioned Kurt Russell in Hateful Eight and Kenneth Branagh in his Hercule Poirot movies.
Not mentioning Johnny Depp in a video about staches is criminal. He has the most iconic facial hair ever. To the point where anyone who has his style of facial hair just ends up looking like him.
In my early 20's I grew a handlebar stache so long I could curl it upwards and touch my eyes with it. It looks cool, but there's only so many times I can handle not being able to lick the bottom of the dessert bowl because your moustache gets caked in ice cream...
Jameson Parker’s stache in The Prince of Darkness, Robert Carlyle’s in Trainspotting, James Remar’s in Django: Unchained and Kurt Russell’s in Tombstone are among the best moustaches I’ve ever seen. Those lads rocked the stache!
Miles Teller’s mustache works well because the military has a regulation to follow with facial hair. His fits well with what is considered “in regs.” Nice little detail for the military guys if its something they were really going for.
I watched the world moustache and beard championship and it was astonishing the guy that won has a bird catch and bird made of hair it couldn't believe it much respect for those guys because that's what you call dedication
I’ve always been able to grow a full, thick mustache since high school but have never taken the leap. Doing it now but curious if it actually fits my face and style. Wish we could submit photos so you could critique lol
After growing the Mo for Movember!! , I’ve decided to keep the the Mo as I’ve been told I suit it , some like it and some don’t , I think I’d look weird with out it now , im going to embrace it now !! 😂 at 43
36, sporting Elliot walrus, going for Kitchener: It's ok for most stuff, twist and part it like Red Sea for soup and such, chin down for pudding and cake, forget about the ice cream.
I agree that walrus moustaches take less maintenance, however I disagree with the other thing you said; I think that they take a lot of GROOMING, just not a lot of cutting
I've never seen so little said in 15 minutes. 2:50 "You can see how much it amplifies the square shape of the jaw", what? No, I can't see that. You can't just say that as if it's fact and then move on. How about comparing it to different styles, or showing how it works on other face shapes? Just ANY analysis at all would be nice. Also the video says nothing about how they shave or style it. It just says what the moustache looks like.
It took many years of study. I did my undergrad at Northwestern in follicular sciences then earned a doctorate at the Sorbonne académie de moustache. My Honorary PHD was granted by the Royal Handlebar Moustache Society of Nottingham…. Nah. I’m actually just a barber… have been for almost 30 years.
I've never noticed how much Pedro Pascal looks like Burt Reynolds, but after seeing them both in succession, it's sort of uncanny...
It was shocking when that photo of Burt came up after Pedro!
I seriously can’t unsee it now.. 😅
i didn’t realize they both showed up in Succession
Thankfully is the complete OPPOSITE of Burt Reynolds in personality.
I always thought they were the same person !!!!!! 😂😂😂😂
Please do a part 2, this is so entertaining! Add Jeff bridges next time, dude has an awesome beard
We all know there is a mustache he avoided 💀
The Jordan mustache.
Oh lol, taken me a few minutes to figure out who you were referring to 🤣
The Australian equivalent to that, the Chopper Reid or Ivan Millat mo...
Hitler stash as well
“Destroyer of Poland” stach
@@danishbutter1847 Chaplin's stache, that's where Adolf took the inspiration after all ;)
I had no idea there was so much science and artistry to facial hair. Great video, although I wish he mentioned Kurt Russell in Hateful Eight and Kenneth Branagh in his Hercule Poirot movies.
Great staches indeed!
Matter Conrad is a great speaker on facial hair, please GQ do a part two with him in it. 🙏
too bad he’s canadian
Proudly 🇨🇦
Came out today!
@@marcokilby7875 watched it! It was great! Thanks however for the heads-up. 🙏
Not mentioning Johnny Depp in a video about staches is criminal. He has the most iconic facial hair ever. To the point where anyone who has his style of facial hair just ends up looking like him.
tom selleck too.
And Steve Harvey
Nah, I only make mine like his when I start eating it with every bite I take.
I lean more into the Sam Elliot style….
Henry Cavill's Mustache is a great band name.
Of course Jim Carrey's stache in the 2nd sonic was freaky. It was a nod to the over-the-top design of the video game character he's based on.
Aaron Taylor Johnson’s moustache in both Anna karenina and bullet train were both really cool. I alternate between those 2 styles
The title is a little missleading...

Matty this was great- like others have mentioned we need a part 2
Jameson Parker’s stache in The Prince of Darkness, Robert Carlyle’s in Trainspotting, James Remar’s in Django: Unchained and Kurt Russell’s in Tombstone are among the best moustaches I’ve ever seen. Those lads rocked the stache!
+1 for Jameson’s Prince of Darkness stache

Intidimating
Really sat through the whole thing, I think I learned something !
This deserves a part 2!!!!
Christian Bale in Hostiles. Fantastic stache! It's rugged yet classic at the same time.
I watched the world moustache and beard championship and it was astonishing the guy that won has a bird catch and bird made of hair it couldn't believe it much respect for those guys because that's what you call dedication
Mattie Conrad is the GOAT on men’s grooming videos and has a killer beard.
I would never compare Miles Teller and Tom Selleck 😮
Great video mate, really enjoyed seeing the different types/styles on various people👍🏼
That was excellent. Please review trimmers
Been rocking the beard stache for about a year now thinking of fulling committing to the mustache soon enough
Ill save you some time. He doesnt show you how they shape them. He just gives names and fun facts about the celebs and their stash
You really should check Charlie Hunnam's Mustache&Beard towards the end of Sons of Anarchy Season 3
been waiting for this
Know any actors with Lampshade stache? I think there should be more videos surrounding that particular style of mustache.
How about Owen Wilson as Mobius. As a matter of fact how about an MCU stache rundown??
Not including Daniel Day Lewis on here is sacrilege
It’d be nice in the future, if we got explanations for the origins of these mustache style names.
Glad you guys have continued Matty’s series!
My ophthalmology professor rocks a walrus moustache. I wish I could grow one like him in future
Never thought id see a mustache expert on here wow
I’m actually just a barber… but that by implication would make you a facial hair expert. Certainly never referred to myself as a “moustache expert”
I’ve always been able to grow a full, thick mustache since high school but have never taken the leap. Doing it now but curious if it actually fits my face and style. Wish we could submit photos so you could critique lol
Lalo Salamanca? Perfect one.
After growing the Mo for Movember!! , I’ve decided to keep the the Mo as I’ve been told I suit it , some like it and some don’t , I think I’d look weird with out it now , im going to embrace it now !! 😂 at 43

Moustaches are back in the game bois 🤙🏽🤑
I agree that walrus moustaches take less maintenance, however I disagree with the other thing you said; I think that they take a lot of GROOMING, just not a lot of cutting
Excellent point… I should have been more clear about that
Sorry I like clean shave when it’s like sort of I like Milo though a lot with facial hair and Steve harvey
Matty, you’re one of the greats.
Burt Reynolds = Pedro Pascal 🤯
You gonna finish that squirrel? Or just keep chewing on it 😂
Thanks, Andy from The Office
Am i the only one that thought he was going to mention Jamie Hyneman when talking about the walrus mustache?
WE NEEEED A “THINGS SABRINA CARPENTER CANT LIVE WITHOUT” VIDEO😭🥺❤️
It's a travesty that MythBuster's Jamie Hyneman wasn't on this list
I didn't know that was called "anchor style" Every time that has magically appeared on my face I called it "mushroom style".
You forgot that it's hard to kiss a Woman- nix on beards & mustaches. Always Clean Shaven.❤
Offerman shaved because it was his wife's preference when they kissed.
came here for the moustaches, stayed for the canadian accent!!
Ncuti Gatwa the new Doctor Who has moustache too
This is awesome - mustache is the way to go 👍🏼
does it get closer you your nose the longer it gets i feel like mine is thin
Uhmmm… sorry, but Henry Cavill looks GREAT, full stop. Did I say “great” ? Make it drop dead gorgeous.
Next time do Kurt Russel, Val Kilmer and pretty much the entire Tombstone cast
Really needed this video cause I’m lowkey tired of my beard lol 😅
Henry Cavil's mustache is the king of mustaches as he is a king among men.
You could do a whole special on Keanus patch job
Henry Cavill is by far the best mustache role model here. Jude Law also looks killer with the same style.
Ned flanders
Never noticed how much Pedro Pascal looks so much like Burt Reynolds until now lol
i cant believe you guys skipped Robert Downey Jr's Tony Stark beard, i mean, that should have been the first one on.......
That’s a goatee not a moustache
How do I grow a bushy one 🤔
Always called it a dustache; just a little dusting of hair. But shadowstache is much nicer!
How can you not mention Daniel Plainview's mustache?
It’s covered in milkshake
I think you forgot to mention Charlie Chaplin, we need him in the part 2.
Pierce Brosnan can wear a heck of a great mustache.
Daniel Day Lewis in Gangs of New York and There will be Blood. That thing had its own trailer.
Sam elliots as beau bennet in The Ranch
Brad Pitt looks best with a goatee in my opinion
I think the fight for the best mustache ever i would put tom selleck against don frye.
Daniel Day Lewis in There Will Be Blood
tom hardy's various mustaches, definitely missing

How about the Chaplin mustache? We never see those these days, I wonder why
I didn’t bother watching this vid, I’m just wondering how you became a mustache expert. Sounds like something I could be into….
He’s a barber duh
@@linusfotograf it says “mustache expert”
Mustache RIDES 😊
Matty you missed Kurt Rusell and Jeff bridges 😮
Still wondering when the "Barber Shows HOW" part is coming up? 🤔
You forgot the austrian painter
For part 2 add Jason Schwartzman
WHAT? No mentions of Frank Zappa, Jayme Heineman, and Toshiro Mifune???
I have half a dozen aunts who grow better mustaches than Timothee Chalamet
😮😅😂
Came for stache, stayed for Cera
Steven Yeun not Yuan.
Jim Carey wasn't in an "episode" of Sonic, it was 2 movies....
Don't forget lalo Salamanca.
Any one can wear a mustache as long as they can grow one.
Where is Andrew Schulz he has been rocking the moustache and it looks great
Shoulda put Marc Maron in here
Forgot Andrew Schulz
could've mentioned movember
Drink every time he says "badass"
WTF?!? how is it even possible to become a mustache expert....
George Harrison has some nice styles but I never see him mentioned
Floral shirt?!?!?!?
It’s a Hawaiian Shirt!!!
What about the Chaplin stache?
Can you do Hugh jackman
I miss eating things with cream on top....
Okay do a part 2 but without all the doofy weak staches I want real examples
Thanks for the video. Let me suggest you another interesting topic: Iconic people with goatee style. And what's better? The thin one or thick one?
Kurt Russell?!?!? KURT! RUSELL!
