Mine real hair growth journey: focus on sleep, keep scalp cleanliness, wash less and hydrate more, get regular trims, brush hair daily, and apply liitlllextrra Reactivate hair serum every day. It includes rosemary and other nourishing ingredients that consistently promote the growth of fresh baby hairs.
blessed to have come across reactivatee hair serum and cocoonioon shampoo oil conditioner for hair fall, as my hair problems have been resolved with it. thank you, friend!
Applying natural oils during scalp massages actually works in hair fall control. Oils such as coconut, onion, as well as rosemary can be particularly good. I combine a few drops of rosemary oil to my liitlexttra cocoonionn shampoo & natural hair oil, which this really helped in getting good hair growth.
Earlier, my hair used to fall when combing post-application of oil. However, since using this liitlllextra cooconnion hair oil, I see reduced hair on my comb. Now I see lesser hair fall after shampooing. I’m hopeful for anticipating positive results in about a month. Since around 60% of my hair fall has been controlled.
@@karthikeyanshanmugaraja6 every case of hairfall doesn't relate to dht my bro. There are multiple reasons for hairfall. Hairfall caused by dht is actually hair thinning
A friend who does hair styling recommended the litttlexttra reactivatte hair growth serum, and I’m glad I tried it. My hair appears fuller, and the volume is definitely coming back. I’ve already received a second bottle..
I’ve been taking minoxidil and finasteride for coming up on 2 years now and it’s made a significant difference for me. My hair is thicker and healthier. It’s had the added side benefit of making the bare patches in my beard full in too! Haven’t had any negative effects since I exercise regularly so no issues with weight gain etc
@@muhammadhamza1583 I agree but whats the solution? You need to reduce the intake and application of minoxidil slowly after 7 years i still have good hair. My interest grew when I started getting my baby hair line 😂
This video is VERY informative. Information in regard to how long it takes to absorb (1hr liquid to much less for foam, it lasting for 21hrs so only need to apply it once per day, shedding is good and shows the person is responsive and new hair will be stronger than the next) is very appreciated!
so you wouldn’t apply it morning and night? just asking cs i saw another Yt video and it said to do that but i’ve been experiencing very fast heart rate so i might switch to 1 time a Day
I've been using minoxidil/ derma roller for 11 months now. It improved my hairline the most when I paired the minoxidil with a dermaroller. I was also able to grow a handsomely full beard after struggling with that for 10 years. I finally look my age and haven't been carded since. (Had a baby face)
@Adz231 I still use it, but not as consistently as before. I haven't noticed any loss but it definitely looked fuller when I use the dermaroller consistently
@pranjalpagaria322 I've only used the topical liquid. The only side effects is sometimes I get some flakes. But it doesn't happen If I keep my scalp moisturized. Also, my hands and arms have way more hair than last December.
Thank you so much for your contents. I restored a lot of my hair because of this channel. I always recommend people who are facing Male Pattern Baldness to watch the channel
@@sunillaveti I take Finasteride (1.25mg per day) and use Minoxidil 5% (not everyday because my scalp irritates when I use too much, it's better to use everyday). My hair stop falling after some months. It's been more than a year now. Amazing results.
Was using minoxidil foam (Kirkland) twice a day for a month and ended up in the ER thinking I was having a heart attack. Its taken nearly 6 months to feel somewhat normal again despite stopping it. Panic attacks, anxiety, heart palps, and chest tightness were my symptoms. Also had incidents appear on an EKG. I've never had any heart issues prior. Be careful with this stuff. It's potent and it made my lose more hair in the areas I was using it. It causes a shedding phase once you stop, so beware of that.
I’ve been using the brand from Kirkland and it’s been 3 months but lately id been feeling the same way. I never had panic attacks before but when I used minoxidil I seem to feel it. Also my anxiety it’s even more greater than ever.

In addition, I use derma stamp and ordinary hair serum.
I experienced COVID that lasted around 10 days. I thought I was fine until I began to lose more hair than usual. I am a woman who began Minoxidil about 4 years ago. I am aging and my hair started to shed more frequently and I was able to see my scalp through my hair. When I began treatment I started with the woman's formula once a day, and didn't want to go to twice a day until I knew how I reacted to it. Well, I did so well on once a day that I just stayed there and have continued to fill out the thickness of my hair considerably. It was great to hear you agree that once a day is enough. Recently I decided to try the men's version once a day and I am not having any problems with that. My scalp seems quite thick (for me) but the bonus is that I have regrown my thinned out eyebrows (I did not apply it on my eyebrows), and surprisingly it has grown back without any grey! I normally have a few grey eyebrow hairs. The only negative is that they hairs are growing in at varying directions, so it takes frequent grooming to keep them in line. I would say that the minoxidil has restored my hair quantity back to when I was a teenager. What it has not done is make my individual hairs thicker, so the overall look is not as abundant as my teenage years, but no complaints at all from me. I just might go back to the women's formula because I don't want to take anymore than needed. As an aside, in the beginning I had some trouble with the scalp irritation and a greasy build up. I thought I was going to have to quit using it. I stopped it for a week or so but thought to try using the very famous brand of dandruff shampoo we have all seen for years. Ever since I did that I have stopped the irritation and build up and I began tolerating the Minoxodil just as before. I don't even use the dandruff shampoo every time, it is more like every 2-3 times I shampoo. Hope this info helps others!
minox i think it only works for two years. I use a Tesla brush from Canada which works as well as minox but the new laser caps work as well too and theyre not drugs
I'm a woman and also want to use the 5% minoxidil (which is what men use), but I am afraid that I will grow some facial hair. It sounds silly, I know, but it's a huge concern for me. Can anyone please reassure me before I start using it?
I hate that I’m one of the few that got the major symptoms. Dizzyness, rapid heart rate, and swelling/cramps on my feet. Can’t even do Rosemary or Peppermint oil. Sucks man
The big question not touched upon - what is the response rate to oral min, compared to those without sulfotransferase enzyme on scalp when using topical? Have you found those switching to oral min after trying topical respond well? Thank you
How does it work? 30 and it’s not horrible but came out of no where so trying to find alternatives. Rather go bald than lose my Lobito with minoxidil or finasteride. Wanting a transplant but mixed reviews on needing meds after. I have about 75-80%, transplant to fill in and better hairline but not if I need to take meds after
Used minoxidil for a long time. It definitely works well, but once you stop using it, even for a short while, your hair will just fall out extremely fast. So it’s very important not to take any breaks, even short ones.
@@Yafizmohammed-v3s I wouldn’t risk it. Maybe 2-3 days at most. I don’t know why, but any break normally leads to very quick and massive hair loss pretty much immediately. So starting Minoxidil is a big commitment in time and money (and may have other side effects for some people), but it works well while you use it.
Lot of good points here, in my case I was a hyper responder both in hair growth and side effects. I had crazy scalp hair growth within 6-7 months however the heart palpitations and chest pain were really severe, especially when laying down trying to fall asleep, I'm fit and healthy with normal normal/low BP. Never had anything like that before and after stopping it took about a year for those symptoms to go away completely. Even went for a holter monitor and echo cardiogram, in the midst of it, all normal. I was using 1 dose of foam at night only, so half the recommended amount and I still had that kind of reaction. Now I'm just on topical finasteride with no issues, but man I miss the results from the minoxidil. Finasteride just has me holding ground not regrowing.
Minoxidil is a vasodilator. This means it's gonna lower your blood pressure esp if taken orally. Hence your palpitations since your heart is compensating by increasing the heart rate, and the fact that you are normal to low bp to begin with. It's the same concept that you shouldnt take viagra if you have low bp in the first place.
I thought i was the only one. Its been 4 years since a left it and i still have the palpitations ocassionally. Might have created permanent damage? Have you hears any case?
I’m having the same issue. When I sleep and wake up I have chest pain which goes away after sometime. I am on fenestride and minoxidil, so I am not sure it’s due to minoxidil or fenestride ?
Sushmita: Minoxidil 5% works wonders - use it once per day in the morning and massage well. Wash hands throughly thereafter. Presently on my 4th month - no side effects - keeps the bio hair that I still have but unfortunately no re-growth so in essence I've only retained 1/4 of my thick mane of glossy hair which is better than having no hair 😊
I started it but more than once a day not knowing about the side effects. I started to have Chest pain (angina). I am going to the Dr tomorrow cuz i had no idea this was the caused until now. I will let him know and probably will use it 1 per day like you.
@@slowed_to_perfection I lowered the those to Once a Day at the amount required 1.0ML. The pain got away. I got a derma roller, it’s been great so far.
Just want to ask incase I missed it, so you mention to work up the oral minoxodil slowly overtime. How much would you work it up to assuming no side effects? What's the end "goal" in mg would you recommend? I unfortunately am a non-responder to topical minoxodil (tried liquid and foam version, on top of combining it with microneedling at a depth of 1 - 1.5mm). I've used it consecutively for over a year now in combination with Finasteride 1mg tablet daily. My hair loss has completely stopped, but I think I'd attribute that to Finasteride. I'm still using Minoxodil just for the sake of using it, even though I don't think I've necessairly seen much results. I was considering switching to Oral minoxodil and seeing if it helps.
never had any effects from minoxidil at all... and my shiny head proves it... on the positive side, don't have to worry about getting it stuck in the hair rather than scalp, although it does just run right off...so enter the dermaroller and now it all soaks into my shiny head nicely and then I throw some near infrared light on it to get the blood flowing and the mitochondria working...I do have a pretty shine
Thank you both for your input and show. You are helping many people. Minoxidil and Finasteride combined works well in my case in a compounded oral tablet mix. Been 1 year now slight palpitations first 2 weeks none since. No side affects noticeable. Great improvement of replacement hair in medium thining of crown area. 4 months before some obvious results showed then continued better results from there. Can use fibers to help as well. Its a lifetime commitment though and a daily tablet to remember to take.
hey, so your palpitations lasted for the first two weeks of starting it and then it stopped? maybe cuz your body got used to it... i should try to stick through it because i used it three time and each time i had palpitatioons so i rinsed it off immediately. maybe if i push through like you the side effects will stop
I think any capsule mix like mine that's 7 days a week forever will possibly have side affects for some. It's an individual try out I guess. Mine lasted 2 weeks then no issues at all since. Can I recommend it absolutely, but as said its a try it and see.
Oral Minoxidil's side effects are real. I've tried to start it a third time, now at the lowest dosage of 1.25mg, and titrated up in a month and I still have chest pain.
To giorgi kuprava, i had to stop using the topical minoxidil, it gave me chest pain too but also scary irregular heart beats, i stopped using it and everything went back to normal. Be careful.
I just bawled my eyes out when you said if your hair is shedding then you're a responder. Which means I've got hope. Thank you for that. I'm not very regular with my use of Topical Minoxidil but watching all your videos has given me a better understanding of Minoxidil compared to what I've known for the past 10 years. The last 3 months I've been using minoxidil regularly-ish and now I'm shedding like I'm gonna be bald any day now. But after hearing your explanation. I'm going to keep going. Thank you both.
I started on topical minoxidil 5% 1 month ago and I've already noticed some new wispy hairs sprouting up on my hairline nothing cosmetically significant but I am surprised that anything at all has happened this early is it possible that certain people respond exceptionally quickly to minoxidil or is this a normal respond this early?
@geo9345 yeah I've definitely stabilized I'm regrowing some fine hair around my hairline at this point I would say it's a notable amount of you're paying attention to my scalp but probably not super obvious at a glance since I'm only 4 months in I'm pretty happy with the results so far
Weirdly I’ve had far fewer issues with finasteride than with minoxidil. If anything, finasteride improved my mood, maybe because the reduction in my levels of such a powerful androgen gave me a bit more clarity and sort of took the edge off. Minoxidil actually messed me up much more, I had headaches, palpitations, anxiety, etc. It should be noted that I have a history of palpitations and anxiety anyway, but I hardly ever get headaches, and the the anxiety was particularly bad with the minoxidil. I’m lucky that my hair-loss isn’t that bad, and I’m comfortable just slowing it down/stopping it worsening for now. I don’t want this to be interpreted as fear mongering or anything. Minoxidil is just a medication like any other, and people should feel comfortable trying it out and seeing how they feel. It’s highly highly unlikely that side effects will persist after stopping with minoxidil.
@@eileengreenspan730 From topical minoxidil or finasteride? It makes intuitive sense that you could get headaches with minoxidil since it’s a vasodilator after all, but I have absolutely no idea by what mechanism fin could induce headaches, not that it’s impossible or anything, it’s just that I can’t think of how it would do that. It’s worth keeping in mind that the headaches could be caused by stresses surrounding the medication. With finasteride, nocebo related side effects are far more common than direct side effects, and most of the direct side effects seem to either get better with continued use or through dose titration. Unfortunately, I don’t know quite as much about minoxidil since I don’t use it any more, but I’d definitely suggested bringing this concern up with a doctor if at all possible. Good luck with your hair! :)
Thanks but as a woman, if I hear something is going to potentially cause weight gain, that's a very significant thing for me; I was hoping you two would go into more detail about it...
Thanks a lot for the detailed video. I have a low blood pressure and during my Minoxidil use I feel very lazy and down. I will try to use it 1 hour before sleeping. Hope it will work
@dtmkt305 Fair enough, I've had no side effects at all but at the same time I've had no freaking results after using it for 7 months. It's a scam for me
MY urologist just two weeks ago absolutely told me to NOT use Finasteride > > > ETD that could be permanent, growing breasts and it barely if at all works. He put the 'fear' in me for sure.
I think it works but, the side effects you've mentioned have definitely been reported elsewhere. I got off Finasteride after two months, felt weird. I just use Minoxidil now.
Thanks for posting. Do you have any advice on obtaining a prescription for oral minoxidil? Doctors in the states seem to be unfamiliar with it. I am one of those that deal with Migraine symptoms. The migraines will start about 40 mins after I put on the foam. If I cant get an oral prescription, I am going try and keep it on for only 10-15 mins as you described.
I had been using topical minoxidil (Rogaine) for almost 15 years. It worked for me, but the formula made my hair brittle, and I always had a lot of breakage and split ends. I think it was the alcohol. I have long, very fine, very thin hair. I do not color or perm my hair, so the only possible culprit was the Rogaine. I tried both the liquid and the foam. I never had a problem with skin/scalp irritation. My two main complaints were that it made my hair look greasy, so I could only use the Rogaine at night (and wash it in the morning), and while I had more hair volume, the hair was damaged. It was also an annoying routine - having to apply and wait for it to dry before going to sleep. A few months ago I started to use oral minoxidil and oral spironolactone (via prescription from my dermatologist). I did not get massive shedding - on the contrary, my hair actually stopped shedding! It has made a massive difference! I have been shedding a lot since my 20s. I thought it was normal. Sometimes, I would get handfuls a day. I attributed all that hair to the fact that it's long, so a few strands would seem like more. Now, I realize I was losing so much every day. I continued to lose hair even while taking the topical Rogaine, but it was not as much as before. I don't know if it's the oral minoxidil or the spironolactone that stopped my shedding, but I'm thrilled. An added bonus is that I no longer have to spend so much money on Rogaine. Now, I spend that money on bond repair for my hair. I use K18, and it works, too. If I had known about oral minoxidil before, I would have switched years ago.
As far as I know there has never been one person who had a life threatening situation from using Minoxidil,I'm not a doctor I'm just saying what I researched years ago when I used to use Minoxidil...
Been on minoxidil 5 mg twice a day for over a year without side effects . I am on a diuretic for hypertention. This water pill can have a protective effect. However those with renal or cardiac disease can have problems.
Sir, when I use minoxidil, I get dizzy and blurred vision, and I feel dizzy for half an hour, then it gradually subsides. I wanted to know if it is normal or not?
Can you make a video about using Minoxidil and hair fibres at the same time? I've been thinking of starting Minox for a while but I'm so much used to hair fibres and I don't know how to combine using both at the same time. I'm sure there are plenty of guys like me. Thank you for your very informative professional content!
I’ve been using fibres since I’m shredding pretty bad on my 2nd month - I use fibres in morning and minoxidil foam at night before I sleep and wash my hair every 3 days in case fibres block my pores and etc
@@Our_life_in_Melbourne I don’t I wash my hair end of night with water and put the minoxidil on before I sleep and wash again in morning and do my hair style with aloe Vera gel etc
Thank you for all the advice. I just want to share that I started to use Minoxidil about 7 months ago. The side effect for me is Red Eyes and it feels almost like conductivities (I only use it on top of my head), but my eyes hurt, they feel like I have not slept in days, and are reddish. When I stop using it for a couple of days, this effect goes away. Looking forward to your comment on this.
@@SuperDodoe Thank you for the reply. The answer is NO. I put it on right before I go to bed. Once a night. On the top of my head and back to the crown area. Results have been great. I have no complains about that. I had thinning hair on those areas, and it is almost back to normal after about 7 months.
@@SuperDodoe I do. After I put it on, I read for at least 30 minutes (sitting up). It is much better now that I only put it 5 days a week instead of everyday. The redness is gone as well as the discomfort. Could have also been a combination of Allergies. In any case, thank you again for all you do. Best wishes.
I had to stop minoxidil due to an uncomfortable case of palpitations that refused to go away. Now only on finasteride and still maintained the growth even after 2 full months, no shedding at all. It's actually nearing 2.5 months
If I'm using minoxidil foam, differin gel, and a moisturizer, what order should these be applied and how long between applying each? Also, does adapalene enhance the efficacy of minoxidil the same as tretinoin?
Have you not listened to anything they've said in the video? 1) The foam takes up to 10 minutes to absorb and the liquid can take 4 hours but anywhere up until 4 hours is recommended to not add another topical solution on top. 2) Why would you put anything else? Have a night routine and apply the solution at night time and worry about that in the morning.
@RobinandBeastboy The answer is gel, then minox foam, then lotion. Been doing it the last 5 months. Works fine. It does not take that long to absorb. I don't remember their video, but thanks for the concern.
A question for the doctors: will minoxidil be less effective if the user has had SMP pigmentation? 1. Will the pigmentation affect the absorption of the minoxidil on the scalp 2. Will the minoxidil cause the pigment to fade more quickly.
I have been using Minoxidil for 2 years and am quite pleased with the result. Questions: How long for can you expect to see dormant hair follicles coming back to life? If you "level out" as it were, and don't see more hair returning - can you cut down on the liquid top application to a "care and maintenance" level and keep to - I don't know - 3 times a week maybe? And still keep the hair you have regenerated? And finally: the product I have recommends to cease the use of the product after 60 years of age. Why is this? That is when I am going to need it the most!
Hi I'm hoping you can answer a question for me. Alot of these products recommended for alopecia are sulphides. Wouldn't MSM sulphur work just as well? And no prescription required? I ask because I'm in rogaine and corticosteroid foam. Why wouldn't MSM work as well ? It's a sulphide.
I may have misunderstood something, is it generally safer to apply liquid or foam-based topical minoxidil? Also, is the daily dose of 5mg the typically recommended starting dose?
It’s good to know I can put it on at night. I recently used Minoxidil to regrow a decently sized bald spot on the back of my head. Half the time I would put it on twice but I hated having greasy hair all day. So I switched to just doing it at night. I worries that not having it on my head all day would be an issue. Side note, Kirkland brand minoxidil is a steal, especially the liquid.
Unfortunately the palpitations, headaches, and loss of sleep were all the side effects I experienced using minoxidil. Hair regrowth did occur but I needed to stop use 😢.
I'm getting a lot of wierd dandruff. It's not dry dandruff but soft skin flakes . It's hard to describe but it causes hair to come out too . Its not itchy either. I use Costco brand rogain but don't know if that's the cause . Please someone let me know what is causing it. I use dandruff shampoo and it's still happens 😢
hey dude same here i’m using 2 medication shampoos that my dermatologist prescribe and she is very famous dermatologist sadly it didn’t do much it might be dermatitis
Thanks for this video. I started using the topical foam and the bottle said to call the doctor if you notice weight gain. And I’m like “topical minoxidil doesn’t cause weight gain.” It makes sense that the oral minoxidil causes weight gain.
Hello doctors! Please can you make a video on the possible link between insomnia and finasteride/minoxidil, along with workarounds for the same? Thank you!
I'm pretty sure minoxidil caused it for me, I've seen a few other users on other hairloss videos mention this about minoxidil. One even went as far to quit his finasteride for months, still had insomnia, then one night he took 3 drops of topical minoxidil and couldn't sleep all night. I'm just on topical finasteride right now and have no sleeping problems. I want to add minoxidil back but don't wanna have sleeping problems again. I'm not sure, I haven't seen any videos dive into this but in the oral version it's a side effect so I'm sure minoxidil could be the culprit.
Hello doctors. Nice channel with great contents by the way ! I wanted to ask you 2 questions about topical / oral minoxidil. First question: Is minoxodil responsible for causing red face or rosacea due to the dilation of blood vessels in the circulatory system ? To sum up, do you think there is any link between minoxodil and redness in the face ? Second question: Can the dilated blood vessels go back to their normal size after stopping minoxidil or the blood vessels stay dilated permanently even if we stop using minoxidil ? Thanks for your answers and have a good day. Greetings from France.
@@DigitalRaider1 yes. I've been using the topical minoxidil for a while and about 2 months ago I started using RU58841 and have seen a drastic improvement. The RU58841 has reduced the hair shedding tremendously and that combined with the topical minoxidil I've seen more density than just using the minoxidil by itself.
A few months after I started taking topical minoxidil, I started having some acne in my forehead. I wonder if this could be a less known side effect of the minoxidil.

I tried this for 6 months in conjunction with 5% min topical and it made my hairloss worse. I was aware of the shedding phase so tried to adheres to protocol for at least several months but my recession and areas where I put the tretinoin just go worse
Generally if it’s COMPLETELY bald and you have no hairs even if very fine hair, you can’t really bring back dead zones. You’re best bet would be microneedling once a week in conjunction with minoxidil. This apparently is very good for “dead zones” but you still need some hair even if it’s barely visible. I have seen some pretty insane results with this combo from other people where it looked almost all gone so I think it’s at least worth a shot.
I wouldn’t use minoxidil straight after microneedling as it could go systemic and cause lots of side effects I use it normally after 24 hours after derma rolling to apply minoxidil 👍
@@grahamlowe9124 I use oral Minox and the side effects have been minimal. Also, derma rolling isn’t good for your scalp/hair follicles. Use a derma pen. Look it up - I’m not just saying it.

Have had a little bit of feeling a bit bluergh at times but nothing major. No water retention which is the one I feared. Best of luck with it all.
was having amazing results on topical minoxidil until one day my scalp just heavily dryer up and what I had gained started to fall out☹️ scalp was in a very bad way. Stopped using,, was bad for month or so and then when great again just on the finasteride which IMO is brilliant can’t beat it. 🙏
Thank you for all the detailed information that now has cleared so many questions I had. I had the high blood pressure and the palpitations and headache which I didn’t even think it could have been the minoxidil. I’m still on the first week, so I will persist to stay on it once a day and hopefully the side effects disappear. I have been trying to get my GP to refer me to a dermatologist, but I have not been successful.
Why did the smaller dose oral minoxidil and topical finasteride take years to hit the market? Because 5mg generic finasteride and a pill splitter began to cut into Big Pharma's margins. So they delayed the launch of these "new" products as long as the previous products made them rich.
I think the biggest issue I had with it was the weight gain. I must have added roughly 15-20 lbs after starting using minoxidil, especially around my sides and chest. I started getting bad headaches and irritation on the scalp too from dosing too much, tuning down the dosage helped resolve those issues, but I still couldn't shake the weight gain. Overall, I didn't find using minoxidil worth it. I'd rather be a healthier, more preferred weight with less heart disease risks than worry about having a full head of hair.
I've been on Finasteride too, it doesn't really seem to help at all on its own -- the combination of fin and min was really the key for me. I stopped losing hair and even grew some back after about a year with the 2 in combination. I just am kind of tired of the shitty side effects, and my hair is a bit patchy still so even with the medication I can't have a decent hair style besides just a generic cut.
@@ThatsMrFrank to be fair, everyone is different. From what I hear there are people who have success with just finasteride. I was not very receptive to it, but I responded well to minoxidil, excluding the side effects. Just know that its pretty unlikely it will regrow any lost hair. I had a small bit of regrowth around the crown of my head, but my widow peaks and front-top area never recovered, and without minoxidil the hair I had left is slowly falling out.
Wow I didn’t know that was a side effect. You just made me realize why I have been gaining weight. I was a bit underweight though so cool bonus I guess
Frontal hair line recession is partly due to frontal fibrosing or the mechanical physical scalp changes which is rooted in the lipid-immune system of the forehead being inflamed. Can we use Jade hair roller for resurrecting frontal hair follicles?
For anyone watching when I initially used the liquid I experience a minor headache like it’s there but sorta annoying and scalp irritation this is usually due to the hair product I’d recommend washing every week or two weeks if you’re an African American
what if you have to stop minoxidil before hair transplantation and resume after it’s more then a month pause, is that critical and how hair reacts to it, does it recover or you will most likely start loosing hair quicker regardless of resuming minoxidil? Thanks!
Another question about monoxidil regarding shedding: I shed many hairs over my first intakes, but those hairs where there to begin with before taking minoxidil. Hi docs. I have been using minoxidil topical 10 percent for almost 2 years. Before which I was using 5 percent for about 10-12 years. Also on finastride 1mg. Have also undergone 5 sessions of PRP. But I dont see a big difference in my hair growth. Bald patchy areas still exist in abundance and its getting worse. My question- should I continue using minoxidil forever or stop at some point if I feel it isnt working?

Hi Dr. Jayaprakash and Knudsen, I’m interested in trying Minoxidil for hair loss, but I have some concerns about potential side effects, especially related to blood pressure and the heart. I’ve heard that in some cases, topical Minoxidil can cause fluid retention around the heart. Is this risk associated with topical application of Minoxidil, or is it mainly a concern with oral use? Thanks for your insight!
Minoxidil is a magic, I have been using foam version, its been only 4 months and my head was full of baby hairs from the 3rd month onwards, I also noticed much better hair health as they are now thicker and stronger.
Dear Doctor, I have been diagnosed with FPHL grade 2 and I have been on oral finasteride 2.5mg (for 1 year) and oral Minoxidil (started with 0.0625 for 2 weeks, 1.25 for 2 weeks and 2.5mg for 9.5 months). I have seen increased hair shedding for about 8 months, and it continues. (At the same time as I started full dose Minoxidil ie. 2.5mg, I got A cell PRP also done). Will the hair shedding EVER reduce or stop? Will increasing or reducing the dose of Minodixil help to reduce hair shedding? Is the hair shedding seen with Minodixil use proportional to the dose? So far I have had no side effects from Minodixil with 2.5mg for 9 months. Is it that I may never benefit from using Minodixil? Actually, my hair fell out with the bulbs and clogged the drain. Even before I started the treatment it used to come out in clumps. I read that if the hair come out in clumps it cannot be andogenetic alopecia or FPHL. When I asked my doctor he said that it could also have a component of Telogen Effluvium. Pls, advice what should I do?
I had no results with minoxidil and my dermatologist took me off and put me on spironolactone. It like minoxidil lowers your blood pressure. A little not much. And this worked for me.
So you touched on the different size of hair loss area but you didn't talk about how to use a half cap's worth of foam on a large area. How do I do that? I don't have enough - I'm thinking about focusing on different parts of the area per day so as to rotate the foam - I want to use it further but I run out of foam. My dermatologist examined me and suggested I use minoxidil 5 /once a day, so the area is not so large as to be beyond the help of minoxidil. How do I make it last on all parts of the area? Do I use as much as I need to put foam on the scalp where it's needed - which might increase side-effects? Do I rotate which scalp part gets foam each day? How do other people do it? I've researched but either found people using it way too freely or people who have a very small area of focus. Thanks - I just started using it 2 days ago so I appreciate your advice!
Main side-effect of minoxidil that is when you use regularly then its work like magic but when you stop using then the your hair condition going Wrost.

Did your progress lost when you stopped using it?

never had any effects from minoxidil at all... and my shiny head proves it... on the positive side, don't have to worry about getting it stuck in the hair rather than scalp, although it does just run right off...so enter the dermaroller and now it all soaks into my shiny head nicely and then I throw some near infrared light on it to get the blood flowing and the mitochondria working...I do have a pretty shine

hey, so your palpitations lasted for the first two weeks of starting it and then it stopped? maybe cuz your body got used to it... i should try to stick through it because i used it three time and each time i had palpitatioons so i rinsed it off immediately. maybe if i push through like you the side effects will stop

I think I'm getting headaches from topical. Is that even possible?
@@eileengreenspan730
From topical minoxidil or finasteride?

Are you getting a shed? Any hair growth? How long have you been on?

Can you make a video about using Minoxidil and hair fibres at the same time? I've been thinking of starting Minox for a while but I'm so much used to hair fibres and I don't know how to combine using both at the same time. I'm sure there are plenty of guys like me. Thank you for your very informative professional content!

Same side effect!
Are you maybe rubbing your eyes with minoxidil left on your hands?
@@SuperDodoe Thank you for the reply. The answer is NO. I put it on right before I go to bed. Once a night. On the top of my head and back to the crown area. Results have been great. I have no complains about that. I had thinning hair on those areas, and it is almost back to normal after about 7 months.
@@wenceslaosalguero2927 you should wait for it to dry before ( as recommended ) going to bed as it could get on your pillow and your eyes
@@SuperDodoe I do. After I put it on, I read for at least 30 minutes (sitting up). It is much better now that I only put it 5 days a week instead of everyday.

How does minoxidil affect styling your hair? I heard it makes the hair super dry, Is it really that bad?
makes your hair feel greasy
A question for the doctors: will minoxidil be less effective if the user has had SMP pigmentation?
1. Will the pigmentation affect the absorption of the minoxidil on the scalp
2. Will the minoxidil cause the pigment to fade more quickly.
Don't expect them to respond. Unfortunately, they don't and your questions are very important.
What could be causing the puffy face and eye bags that some people report having experienced ? How to avoid/solve it?

I have been using Minoxidil for 2 years and am quite pleased with the result. Questions: How long for can you expect to see dormant hair follicles coming back to life? If you "level out" as it were, and don't see more hair returning - can you cut down on the liquid top application to a "care and maintenance" level and keep to - I don't know - 3 times a week maybe? And still keep the hair you have regenerated? And finally: the product I have recommends to cease the use of the product after 60 years of age. Why is this? That is when I am going to need it the most!
I have been using minoxidil for eight months and the hair growth is good and the hair loss has not stopped
Thus ur hair is growing back?

Hi I'm hoping you can answer a question for me. Alot of these products recommended for alopecia are sulphides. Wouldn't MSM sulphur work just as well? And no prescription required? I ask because I'm in rogaine and corticosteroid foam. Why wouldn't MSM work as well ? It's a sulphide.
I may have misunderstood something, is it generally safer to apply liquid or foam-based topical minoxidil? Also, is the daily dose of 5mg the typically recommended starting dose?
Foam dummy
It’s good to know I can put it on at night. I recently used Minoxidil to regrow a decently sized bald spot on the back of my head. Half the time I would put it on twice but I hated having greasy hair all day. So I switched to just doing it at night. I worries that not having it on my head all day would be an issue. Side note, Kirkland brand minoxidil is a steal, especially the liquid.
Unfortunately the palpitations, headaches, and loss of sleep were all the side effects I experienced using minoxidil. Hair regrowth did occur but I needed to stop use 😢.

Thanks for this video. I started using the topical foam and the bottle said to call the doctor if you notice weight gain. And I’m like “topical minoxidil doesn’t cause weight gain.” It makes sense that the oral minoxidil causes weight gain.
I clicked to learn steven Spielberg's point of view.

Excellent question regarding rosacea
Yes absolutely. I am facing this too. Blood vessels around my nostrils have turned red and really visible and they dont seem to get any better.
I definitely got the water retention from the oral form and I didn't realise it till I stopped it and the water weight dropped immediately.
Are you taking the topical form now?
@@DigitalRaider1 yes. I've been using the topical minoxidil for a while and about 2 months ago I started using RU58841 and have seen a drastic improvement. Does Minoxidil result in regrowth of ‘dead zones’ I.e. where no hair grows anymore on the head?

@@WIZA327 This makes me sure I don't want to use either, thanks.
@@ThatsMrFrank to be fair, everyone is different. From what I hear there are people who have success with just finasteride. I was not very receptive to it, but I responded well to minoxidil, excluding the side effects.

what if you have to stop minoxidil before hair transplantation and resume after it’s more then a month pause, is that critical and how hair reacts to it, does it recover or you will most likely start loosing hair quicker regardless of resuming minoxidil? Thanks!
Another question about monoxidil regarding shedding:
I shed many hairs over my first intakes, but those hairs where there to begin with before taking minoxidil.
Once regrown: do those shed hairs also depend on Minoxidil dosification in order to stay? Have those hairs become Minoxidil dependant, while previously they were not?
would love to know that too

Hi Dr. Jayaprakash and Knudsen,
I’m interested in trying Minoxidil for hair loss, but I have some concerns about potential side effects, especially related to blood pressure and the heart. I’ve heard that in some cases, topical Minoxidil can cause fluid retention around the heart. Is this risk associated with topical application of Minoxidil, or is it mainly a concern with oral use? Thanks for your insight!

what about the shedding phase
Which brand?
Taking Finasteride messes with my libido.. If minoxidil does not do the same, I would be willing to try.
Dear Doctor,
I have been diagnosed with FPHL grade 2 and I have been on oral finasteride 2.5mg (for 1 year) and oral Minoxidil (started with 0.0625 for 2 weeks, 1.25 for 2 weeks and 2.5mg for 9.5 months).

@@outrotear7 Don't instantly stop using minoxidil, try to find the possible causes of your hair loss, it can be your lifestyle, your diet, your hair being dry and brittle for several reasons or genetics
