I remember when British Airways, Air France, Lufthansa, SAS, Alitalia and Swiss used to fly to Manila. Guess they were having a hard time competing with Middle Eastern airlines on flights to Europe. Hope to have them back. I also recall Egypt Air, Pakistan International Airlines flying to Manila.

Because East Asian (Chinese, Japanese, Korean) tourists love to go here in the Philippines, especially when it's very cold in their homelands.
On another note, last time I went to Metro Manila there were lots of Chinese tourists.

Actually Chinese more likely going Thailand N Malaysia while Korean prefer Philippines N Vietnam. Chinese tourist to Philippines still count very little compare to others asean countries. For examples, AirAsia can access to many Thailand and Malaysian cities while for Philippines only Manila. Your government can work more for this, seriously Chinese will like Philippines if the country promotes well in China

Well, this maybe a good video, I think. 😘 But, we don't really know. Philippines' economy has been improving ang more and more countries giving visa free access, I guess, more and more airlines will fly to Manila. I also hope that local airlines like PAL and Cebu Pacific will expand their international flights. One more thing, I hope there will be another full service airline to compete with PAL to step up the game
