Hi Mike, I have seen folks use a hammer to get their flywheel off but I never have. I use my impact to pull the flywheel off with the tool like the one you use. Is there a reason you don't use your impact to remove them? I know everyone does it different and this is my method.
He mentioned in the vid that the top of the harmonic balancer tool he uses is flat from hitting it with a hammer so he can’t get a socket over it anymore. I’m sure an impact would work fine though.
Thanks for another great videos T-Mike, I love them! I have a request for you: A common problem for these vintage motors is that a swivel plate on the stern bracket has been lost. How would you go about to install and/or repair this? Buy a new one or transfer one from a donor motor?
Did you use bolts that came with that amazon puller or have to buy your own to work on outboards? I recently upgraded from a Johnson fd-18 to a Johnson rd-19 and might have to pull my flywheel soon. I have spark but it’s not firing on fuel or carb spray.
hi mike,i like your videos,i also refurbish old 2 strokes.Just a headsup!,i have broke alot of shear pins useing the 2x4 holding the prop technique/i probably over tightened,i would assume, because i don't use a tourque wrench.....i will be buying one thanks to your video.
Awesome video Sir lots of useful and important information you are teaching us ONE VIDEO AT A TIME keep up the great work.
That is not a cam shaft it is a crank shaft in Canada.
What’s the thread size and diameter for the 3 bolts that connect the puller to the crankshaft?

Not sure what the “swivel plate” is. Do you have a part number?
It is the circular disc on the clamp screw. For example part number 0337017
i just use one from a parts motor

Should have the right bolts with kit.
