Green Orcs are not Fel Orcs, that wasn't Medhiv at the funeral for Llane it was Antonidas, that isn't Blackhand its more likely Zuluhed the Whacked or Nekros Skullcrusher of the Dragonmaw clan, the tower in the beginning was Karazhan but the shot with all the wizards in the sky was Dalaran and Lothar was never a king but I'll let that one slide as a slip of the tongue.
+Rage Kage Thank you someone that understands. Fel orcs are Red and that doesn't happen (in azeroth) until Grom Hellscream and Mannoroth. Besides Grom is younger than Thrall and here Thrall is a baby.
The story of warcraft is really deep and complicated.I hope they can explain the whole story of wc1 with the movie.Even to the newer fans who havent played warcraft.
+RUPAK RANA It is a adaptation so expect all of the story but for bits to be different. Like for example we are probably going to see Gnomes and Dwarves with Humans even though they where not at this time.
Non-warcraft fans have no idea how deep and expansive the lore is. There is so much content. if the events of Warcraft 1 can spawn a movie, we're looking at about 9 sequels after this, not including many prequels. Just so much content to go around. Not that we will ever see that many, but there is enough story to do so.
+RUPAK RANA Going to assume it kinda will just hit the "basics" of the main story. The vital stuff that you need to know to follow it. It's supposedly designed so you don't have to know any lore about the game at all or even know about the game itself and you can still follow it and enjoy it. Similar to the Lord of the Rings movies.
+RUPAK RANA The whole Warcraft yes it is confusing. But this is only the story of WC1 Orcs and Humans. When that game was released I don't think it was that complicated to understand. Do not over think and drag the whole Warcraft lore into a single movie based on the very first Warcraft game. If you are to tell a bed time story to a child, you always begin with "once upon a time" and of course you don't have the whole night to complete the whole story telling. You will end it with the child wanting to hear what happen next so child has something to look forward to the next night.
+sonicfreak1031 It's still destroyed. It's Outland in all but name at that point. The portals had already torn Dreanor apart into the version we knew from WC2/tBC.
+Kyle Smith WRONG! THe use of fel magic and industrialisation and constant warfare destroyed Dreanores forests and lush lands, and thats what we see in this trailer, Dreanor turning in to outlands happens atthe very END of the second war wen Ner'Zul opens up all these portals that tear up the planet appart.
+Kyle Smith sonicfreak1031 is right in the point that Draenor was torn apart because of the opening of several portals at once. And that happened while the Alliance invaded Draenor. Before being torn apart the place was called Draenor and not Outland. And the sky we see in the trailer wouldn't look like that before the planet was torn apart and thrown into the nether, I guess.^^
+Tholyn - i still remember my first evening of wow on release day... me as a mage and 2 paladins were running through Westfall and the most dangerous thing there were those stupid lvl11 dust devils, which kept killing us :D
+Tholyn the defias brotherhood comes after the fall of stormwind to rebuild it. additional to this in the 2nd movie i'm sure we'll see, that one of the 7 human kingdoms (The kingdom of Alterac) will help the horde. along with other information n such.
About all that orc skin colour confusion: Orcs are normally brown. When they drink demon blood they get red glowing eyes. They get green skin from fel magic being used all around them. Thrall was born on fel contaminated Draenor so his skin is obviously green.
+Mobilone they get green from drinking the blood aswell and become red after drinking even more. wowwiki.wikia.com/wiki/Blood_Curse There are so many ways to get a green skin (those drained blood elves in WoW have greenish skins aswell)
sniffy705 yea the writer of the game (Neil Druckmann) is writing the script, and Sam Raimi is producing it. Maisie Williams is expected to play as Ellie.

yeah i'm in the same boat as you. The style of the tower looks way more Dalaran-ish than Karazhan, the surroundings look more like Hillsbrad/Alterac than Deadwind Pass and there are clearly a circle of people standing on that floating ring. Maybe they've made Dalaran semi-grounded?
bjoern007 Or maybe they launch it into the sky as part of the movie? It's very bizarre. I really hope Dalaran remains on the ground, as that's where it should be for Archimonde's attack if they get to continue this film series.
+Lumi if this truly is so far in the story that they fight at blackrock mountain.... we should see Lordaeron and King Menethil aswell. Unless they really screwed up the story of the first war.... These IGN guys have no idea what they are talking about tho. -.- Fel orcs are red and there are none of them yet, they are only present in outland. Green orcs are just orcs who drank demon blood or their skin was changed due to fel magics corrupting the world around them, and even some of them didnt... as we see in this trailer, thrall is a child... and hes green.
+Larkfeast It isn't different canon at all, few minor changes like Dalaran floating for example rather than being on the ground in Hillsbrad Foothills.
+shay campbell Hoping we get to Reign of Caos too. That would be awesome. But for that we need to give total support to this film and to an eventual second one telling the story of the second war. Then for the third movie we'll have Arthas ,and Thrall , and Illidan .... WOW.
To clarify, outland was not sundered when the Dark Portal opened initially. It was torn apart when Ner'zhul became power hungry and attempted to open portals all across outland to find other worlds for the Orcs to conquer subsequently tearing Draenor apart in the process; remember Alleria, Turalyon and Khadgar were on Draenor when it was torn apart.
Here's what I've made out from the trailer so far. Beware, I might mention SPOILERS!!! My guess is because of green baby Thrall, Durotan and Draka realise how dangerous the Fel Energy is, that turned the Orcs green. And that's why Durotan is willing to side with the humans, for a better future. Meanwhile Garona has been imprisoned because of the assassination of King Llane. (On the battlefield apparently). She managed to convice Lothar that Durotan is trustworthy. After the funeral, the Humans take up arms against Medivh. while Durotan is after Gul'dan. We have seen that Orgrim Doomhammer also has green skin on the earlier promo art, so who knows. We might see him eventually lead the Horde. What Ner'Zhul's role in this is, I don't know. But I'm really hyped for this movie!!!
+Emile Vinesh In the 1st Warcraft game (orc side) you are playing as Orgrim and eventually you defeat Blackhand (because he rivals to be the ultimate leader of the orcs) to gain total dominance over all of the orcs. Finally you defeat humans and celebrate it in the ruins Of Stormwind and countryside around it with the fellow demon bound orcs eating probably human flesh.
i dont think it was Karazhan, i think it was place where Dalaran's Council of Six talk about stuff. And it looks like there are exactly 6 people on the platform (2 we don't see).
+Frozenkex That's what I thought too. The Chamber of Air's walls are enchanted (according to WoWWiki-which agrees to what I remember from the books, "a room with no visible walls - the gray stone floor with its central diamond symbol stood beneath an open sky that shifted and changed rapidly, as if the time sped past within the chamber"), so it doesn't mean they're necessarily up in the air. And Khadgar was called before the council before being sent to Karazhan. So everything adds up, I guess.
+Frozenkex I am afraid you are wrong. The first Tower you see is Kharazhan for sure. Why? When Lothar lands, there is a guy watching him. The guy is Moroes, chamberlain of Medivh played by Callum Keith Rennie (check imdb). The shot after is Dalaran and it is not direct follow up of the previous scene. Its just put together like that
+Bhall You say "Kharazhan for sure" but if you look just behind the tower, there is a city with spires attached to it. It's the Violet Tower of Dalaran, not Kharazhan. If it were Kharazhan, there would be a small village set up around its base instead of a walled city.
+Mathew Smith Any orc that drank demonic blood of a pit lord and is not a brown orc like Durotan is a Fel Orc. Current Orcs are free of the curse but they are still tained by Fel energies.
+Mojo Söderström They were called Chaos Orcs in Warcraft 3, because they hadn't yet come up with the name 'Fel' until WoW. Until then they always just called it demonic or chaos magic.
I think the beginning scene is Khadgar being summoned in Dalaran to be Medivh's apprentice. We know that they have Dalaran floating in this movie (even though it doesn't until waaaay later) and you can see clouds underneath them which would be way too high up for Kara. That scene is definitely the council at the violet citadel and not Kara and Medivh
I don't know why they needed to change the bit where Thrall's parents meeting their fates. Even though we all know Thrall plays a Moses figure, I don't believe using an actual Moses reference was warranted.
they both die and they left thrall so the wild animals would kill him. I hope in the movie draka puts thrall in the river and then fights the orcs. durotan is already dead
+Ku Dastardly I just hope they don't cut the blackmoore part of thrall's history out, particularly taretha, that is if this movie is even decent enough to warrant sequels, i'm thinking it won't be but meh i could be wrong.
1. It's NOT post-sundering Draenor. Sundering only happens after the First War, but Tanaan Jungle turning into desolate Hellfire happened earlier, with orcs' corruption. Also, you don't have to use "pre-" and "post-sundering", it's just Draenor before and Outland after. 2. Orcs were brown initially then most turned green (corruption) then some turned red (inexplicably, after MORE CORRUPTION). So they were NOT red originally.
+Papa Wheely it was, they retconned it. It is a shame, cuz that cinematic in WC3 was cool and I was expecting it to be a good scene if it were in a movie, like ppl could make sand castle jokes or memes about it.
+EmeraldCrusade It might be that they're saying, at this time, Dalaran was a floating city. But after the events of the First War, the mages decided to take a more active role in the world and landed their city? Probably not, but that could be it. As long as they don't let this change affect the story as it continues I'm ok with it. Making (relatively) small changes here and there are perfectly fine.
+EmeraldCrusade Well archimonde can still destroy Dalaran in the movie he will just destroy it in the air If you think about it that would be AWESOME falling Dalaran imagine that :DDD
The area "Khadgar" runs up into is the Chamber of air. This is the place where the council of six discuss important issues. You can tell because it's described as a place with no visible walls, looks like an open sky, and grey stone floors... plus there's the eye of the Kirin-tor in the arches. Also... there are 6 members gathered (only 5 visible but assuming there's 6 because of the way they're all positioned). The one in the middle could be Antonidas, the leader of the Kirin-tor, who also watched over Khadgar while Medivh apprenticed him. That's one thing you missed IGN ;).
1:11 Wrong, that is Dalaran, and that council you see is the council of six, Dalaran's rulling body. The character going up the stairs is Kadghar. Also, if you look at the detailing between the "pillars", that is the symbol of the Kirin Tor, aka The Magus Senate of Dalaran, oh which the Coucil of Six are the Secondary rulers. Archmage Antonidas being the Primary leader. 8:10 The Black Morass, of which Swamp of Sorrows s a part of (northern bit of it). 11:41 Again, not Medihv. This is the funeral of King Llane Wrynn, whose regent then becomes Anduin. This happens after Medivh's death, thus making it impossible for him to be there. Sorry, couldn't help myself.
I wouldn't go that far bud. For those who did not immerse themselves in the Lore as I and some others have they are simple mistakes to make. The Dalaran one is especially hard to get if you don't know about the Council of Six. The Kirin Tor details behind (who I am guessing is) Antonidas only really caught my eye when watching this video, and cleared any douts I might have otherwise had. Because many of these characters and locales have never been represented in any games, or if so very briefly, the movie team has taken some liberties, so much of it looks different to what we would otherwise have expected.
Tristan Brooks Haha! The most discerning feature of Karazhan is that it's simply a big stone tower on the outside. It's the inside, in all of it's glorious 5th dimension and all of it's features and secrets that makes it special
+Joao Pires (Exloar) IGN was like "Let's get two complete idiots who clearly have no knowledge of the game to break down this trailer.......seems like a good idea!". I counted more incorrect things than I care to mention.
+SinisterSin in which one? khadgar is just a mage apprentice so he shouldnt be in a position of power in dalaran. Otherwise he could be the one running around in the clips with just one sword.
Maybe he is the boy who accompanies Lothar on the Gryphon. But the city is Dalaran, I think. And the white-haired mage looking at their arrival doesn't seem to be Medivh. He doesn't fit him at all I think.
+Jeremy Higgins lol why no upvotes?!?! where is the barrens chat army ? vanilla boys? btw do you know where i can find mankrik's wife? #isurvivedbarrenschat
+IGN Big thing you guys got wrong: this isn't the time of the sundering of Draenor. That happens right at the end of Warcraft 2: Beyone the Dark Portal, when Ner'zhul opens many more portals which proceed to tear the planet apart.
Another Correction. That Stormwind never makes it into WoW. Storm wind is destroyed in the First War (this war), causing Anduin Lothar to lead the people to Loredoron (Where Arthas Menethil is waiting to play with Varian Wrynn (read the book "Arthas")). The Stormwind in WoW is "New Stormwind". The reason the docks come into the game during Cataclysm is because they were simply never rebuilt.
spoliers here medivh will die lain will die durotan and draka will die blackhand will die stormwind will be destroyed lothar will flee to lordaeron THE HORDE WILL WIN, LOK'TAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR
+Biotron Mocs accualy they lost both wars. they never conquer azeroth. yea they destroyed Stormwind and more. but they never beat for example dwars in ironforge or humans in Lordareon. but i think the greatest mistake of orc invasion was that they left behind so many klans. almost half of their army. If those orc were at the battle of Lordareon Humans woul'd never had a chance against them.
Petr Tichy The first war ended with destruction of stormwind Orcs pretty much winned I myself conssider it as a victory and then the second war started and in this war orcs where defeated
The Sundering was the event that shattered the original continent of Kalimdor 10,000 years before the opening of the Black Portal Dreanor was torn apart by Ner'zhul's last ditch effort to escape
Have not read other comments so unsure if this was pointed out yet.....But.... Couple things. The "Sundering" is an event that took place roughly 10,000 years ago near the end of the War of the Ancients; causing Azeroths continents to be torn apart and has nothing to do with this film. Which brings me to my next point. Draenor was very much intact through the entirety of the first war; and much of the second in fact. The event that tore Draenor apart, commonly referred to as the shattering, was caused by Ner'zhul when he attempted to open multiple additional portals to other worlds. This took place near the end of the second war, while the Alliance expedition was in Draenor. (Grommosh Hellscream and his Warsong clan actually fight through the Alliance guarding the portal in order to escape the crumbling world) Gul'dan is responsible for many things; but the destruction of Draenor is not one of them.
well about ho fight ho and wath roll everyone has. and were thay are and how are on those places. see the movie as fast as you can and you will see for youself
+!POTATO Diablo should have been done first imo. The first decent video game movie though will most likely be the Assassins Creed movie. Michael Fassbender looks awesome in costume and from what I've seen from the pics that have been released it looks very good. Warcraft could be good but It could also be an overly done CGI mess. Hope I'm wrong but the trailers have not got me very excited for this movie.
+adam hale I may get backlash for this, but am I the only one who thinks a Darksiders movie would be epic as hell? I wanna see that so bad. Hollywood even said they were interested when the first game was made. Anyone else wanna see a movie of that? Or am I really the only one?
To clear something up, the sundering was in Azeroth when the world was one giant continent like Pangaea and was then ripped apart by the well of eternity being tampered with by the burning legion, which occurred during the war of the ancients around 10,000 years before these events during the first war. Draenor was turned into Outland because of Gul'dan opening portals all over Draenor to travel to different worlds.
movie plot: king uses his command table to complete missions. he leaves stormwind to go afk in his garrison. garrosh doesn't have the item level to conquer so he plays Facebook command table. the end.
+Rodiacreed I'm actually annoyed that Garona clearly isn't half-draenei. I hated Me'dan, but that part of her story made more sense. Just don't let her have a kid.
0:25 I lost my shit... Karazhan? Really? Duncan recreated Stormwind, Redridge, Westfall, Dark Portal etc to look almost identical.. and you guys think THIS is KZ? my goodness. And went all 100% derpmode by saying "with Medivh..". That sound your buddy made straight after is the exact thing I did for several minutes while searching for a nail to pierce my head with. Honestly.. it's really not hard to take a few seconds to search for "council of six" at WoWWiki and actually read up stuff BEFORE you make a video.. stop trying to make things confusing for people who knows less.
+Jimmy Jay Instead of insulting people maybe do your own research, the council of six is part of dalaran city, it is not a separate building off somewhere else.
Draenor does not undergo "The Sundering." The Sundering is when the Well of Eternity imploded 10,000 years ago. Draenor didn't shatter until after the events of the first war, but it was corrupted when they began invading Azeroth
I don't know, I think this movie still needs some more time to render better graphics. Still, is the story is good enough the graphics won't be a problem. People only notice sub-par graphics when the story is sub-par. Here's hoping Duncan Jones at least does a good job in that department. But I have faith in him since Moon, which is a great movie.
+Yamil Diaz ILM is doing the effects for this film. Currently they've been had at work on Star Wars. With that being released soon they'll switch focus to Warcraft and have 6 months to polish up the effects.
+Jesus Rendon i hope its predictable ......i hope its exact the same lore as the game and the books. I am waiting this from the first time i got WC1 at my mmx 150 mhz PC. And when me and my friends started WoW in 2005 i think , the first thought and discussion was "they should make this a movie". So yeah i hope its the same story that i played in WC1 at 96 when i was 12 years old . And i hope they make more than 3 movies , so that they get most of the important lore of WC 1-2-3 and WoW + expansions .
Ok. As I said I hope I am wrong. I did play the first WC as I was younger i remember it was very uncomfortable since the right click didnt do anything. Anyway this movie has a lot of risk for failure, with excelent shows like LoTR and GoT people already saw the best of middle earth/medieval genre so everything to come after is destined to fail, like the hobbit and Narnia, it has to be a very good plot for the movie to be able to be on paar with the previously mentioned shows. And it has to do it without ExMachina scenes since GoT has been succesfull without them.
+FLOXI I I APB you cant see it in this video but if you look at the original trailer at 0:56 there is one dwarf sitting on the right side of the table :)
A couple of possible points; - Just as a correction, the Stormwind docks showed up in Wrath of the Lich King. - A possible explanation for why It looks like Dalaran is really high up in the one shot we get of someone flying to it is that it was originally located near the Alterac mountains, which have a pretty high elevation. This would explain the presence of clouds. - I could be remembering incorrectly, but I believe the Sundering is a result of Ner'zhul opening too portals to various worlds at the behest of the Eredar. If they're sticking with that, it would explain why he's in this movie.
7:57 is the Black Morass, which is a zone a lot like Swamp of Sorrows, pretty much the same look actually. All of that area down there used to be swamp-like, but the portal messes up the land, turning it all barren and desert like. So, no, the portal did not switch places, it's always been in the black morass zone (Now known as Blasted Lands)
he should possibly play king varian in the future or even in the second or 3rd movie he should play lich king before he becomes lich king (srry i forget his original human name)
+Andrew Rios it comes out on june 10 in america. in europe and asia its alreadyy out. i saw it yesterday even tho it has been out for about a week here. maybe more
Really? All my friends who watched it know nothing about the lore and they all loved it. Except the friend that i went with. (Well, he loved it too. Just knew about it lol.)
+DOmetry I love the cut scene is Warcracft 3 where Arthas comes home and does his father in. In fact most of the cutscenes in W3 are marvellous. They seemed to lose a little edginess in WoW though.
The mage you see at the ceremony and I believe the one Khadgar is running to in the tower ain't Medivh. It has to be Archmage Antonidas, being one of the Council of Six.
in the trailer if you look closely the king's body isn't there (in the movie his body is laid out on top of that tomb).. i think it was edited out so you can't really blame them for making the assumption that it was a wedding.
Esa Edvik Considering the first comment was written like it could've been about Blizzards attention to detail or the commentators theories, there is still an issue. How are THEY wrong ? Or more like, why assume he knows better when the movie hasn't even come out yet by simply saying they got everything wrong? In the end, he is still being cocky, although if it was about the commentators, then yes my first comment is pointless.
One thing i am noticing, "The sundering" didn't happen on Draenor, and before it was blown up, most of the orcs had already moved to azeroth. Of course, all the warlock magics meant draenor was dying before it exploded.
The 1st part is deffo Dalaran, Khadgar being sent to Kharazan to train under Medivh. Its the scene from the books where he "uncloaks" the council of six members. One i remember being prince Kaelthas, another Kel'Thuzad etc..:) :D Mostly likely one of the dragons there too in human form, Krasus ?
1st castle was Karazhan, 2nd image is from Isle of Quel'Danas close to the Sunwell most probably, it's not Dalaran. Humans actually asked for help from the Blood Elves in the 1st War but the elves in general didn't care until the Horde reached Quel'Thalas. The movie seems to be a free adaptation of "The Last Guardian", the book that tells the events of the first days of the Horde invasion by Khadgar's memories of what happened.
That's Dalaran, not Kharazan. You can clearly see that Khadgar is in the Chamber of Air, surrounded by the Council of Six. That's probably Archmage Antonidas that he's speaking to, not Medivh.
Thrall is green because even though his parents didn't drink the fel blood, the fel magics/energies still affected their bodies just by being around those who did. Because of this, little baby thrall's skin development was affected while still in the womb.
What i like is the design of the orcs, especially Gul'dan. When you see them in game they look badass with all that huge armor and fancy stuff, but i thought they cant make that design in an actual movie. Somehow they managed to managed to give all of them their key features from the game without making it look over the top.
1:08 this is not Karazhan or Dalaran, that men is not Medivh, but the other is indeed Khadggar. Medivh is the guy behind the table at 12:22, the old man in red is probably Faol or a member of the six.
It likely was already mentioned, but for anyone interested in the other races, you can see the elves and even a dwarf more up-close in the council scene at roughly 0:56 (trailer time, not here). Just play the trailer on 0.25 speed to catch the elves on the left.
The first scene ( The building in the sky with someone walking up to a platform ) looks like Dalaran because of the Eye logo you can see everywhere and the fact there isn't just one mage but several, so it looks like the Council that reigns over Dalaran ( With Antonidas being their revered leader, which is why the mage might look old for Medivh ).
You can see the elves earlier. And there are also dwarves if you look closer. Both of those are Dalaran. If you look closer at the first shot, you can see the right type of architecture right to the giant tower. The city is behind the mountains. Lothar is flying to the mages for help. They possibly increased the size and made somekind of floaty sub-cities... Karazhan is in deadwind pass, which is not nearly this room-y. :=)
The first minute they're going on about how the guy in the circle is Medivh, what you'll notice is there's 3 people in a semi circle, so I'm assuming there's 3 people behind in a semi circle which would indicate it's actually the Council of Six within Dalaran.
Also, guys, check out 00:39:27 on the trailer (12:00 on your vid). That orc with the helmet and the red warpaint on his arm? That's totally a throwback to the orc on the original Warcraft 1 box art.
I'm inclined to think the tower in the beginning is Dalaran, simply because if you look at the architecture in the background, you can see the eye of the Kirin tor.
the human saying "they're beast, they should be treated like beasts" is probably Blackmoore, the human who finds and "raises" thrall to be "a warrior with thinking of men, and savagery of the orcs"
Thank you guys. You made this trailer better because when i watched it i didnt notice any of that. i didnt know green was fel orc i thought red was fel orc and i didnt notice the dark portal either so you guys gave me hope that this movie will be awesome!!
i believe its dalaran at the start with 1. the tabard the head mage is wearing looks like that of the kirin tor. 2. its floating in the clouds...and later in the trailer you see a gryphon flying up to it. 3. the metal framing between pylons look like the eye with the 3 arms dropping off of it, which also resembles the symbol of the kirin tor. i dont know if all this has been said already but there you go :)
1. Dalaran doesn't "disappear" nor "takes off", Archimonde destroys it, and then is rebuilt by the Kirin Tor. 2. Yes the one going upstairs is Khadgar, and the one in front of him is Medivh, and no that is not Karazhan Tower, that gotta be one of the gathering chambers from the High Council of Dalaran, better known as the Kirin Tor...
1:42 -- You can see Dalaran Symbols at the top of each "window". Theres 5 people in the room and likely another one in the right corner, though we can`t see him now. The Council of Six, perhaps?
11:40 -- Lothar stands before a funeral pyre, where there is clearly a casket dressed in flowers. King Llane is missing from the picture and Queen is seen comforted by Lothar's hand.
8:09 - About the Portal in Azeroth : its NOT Swamp of Sorrows, its the Black Morass (yes, Blasted Lands, but BM was its old name). The last scene was the same place (they have been improving the Portal on Azeroth side since their landing) Remember the instance where you help Medivh open the Dark Portal (Caverns of Time: THE BLACK MORASS Instance) That's what that scene was....
7:49 is NOT the Swamps of Sorrows. It's the Black Morass. The Black Morass was the area that is currently divided into the Blasted Lands and Swamp of Sorrows. It is where the orcs first appeared in Azeroth through the Dark Portal. When the Dark Portal was opened, the area around it began to wither. During the Second War, the Black Tooth Grin clan established its bases on this area and was entrusted with the keeping of the Dark Portal. By the end of the Second War and the destruction of the Dark Portal by Khadgar, the entire Morass was still a swamp. However, the link between the two worlds remained, even after Draenor's destruction, and the damaging effects of the portal continued. This left behind the wasteland of today, which eventually became the barren Blasted Lands. The northern part of the Black Morass, which was far from these effects, remained intact, and thus, has been renamed into Swamp of Sorrows. There even is a dungeon called The Black Morass in the Caverns Of Time. For me there is only 1 question why is the portal not working in this scene?
first thing first, Dalarn that is in the sky is not the origional Dalaran but what was rebuilt after the demon Archimonde destroyed Dalarn the first from Warcraft 3 or 2. i also want to point out the elves used to be members of the Allaince, the blood elves, before they sworn an oath to the horde due to their hunger for magic after they were accused of treachery when stopping the undead advanced before dalarans fall, which is a curse they have received.
A few points of critique: 1) 4:21 this is not Draenor post-Sundering. The land began to die due to the overwhelming fel energy coming from the presence of demons and warlocks. The Sundering did not happen until after the orcs had thoroughly made their presence on Azeroth. 2) 6:30 [Not really a critique] The reason from Christie Golden's perspective as to why Thrall and the rest of the orcs slowly become green is because of the fel energy surrounding their people. Even though Durotan, Draka, and the rest of the Frostwolves didn't drink Mannoroth's blood, they slowly began to change due to simply being around the fel magic. I suppose the influence has already been spreading to Draka, and Go'el (Thrall's given name) simply became affected during his gestation. Other than that, good eyes, guys!
Starting at the 2:45 mark, the dagger I believe to be an orc dagger. It looks like the pommel is shaped to resemble a wolfs head in my opinion. Also, I can't believe you didn't mention the Horde banner at the 7:47 mark. Appears on the banner on the left part of the screen. I got very excited when I saw this!
That one place in the sky toward the beginning isn't Medivh in Karazhan. It would be Khadgar meeting with the Council of Six of Dalaran, which meet in the Chamber of Clouds. (referenced in the beginning of Day of the Dragon).

Grom is older than Thrall. he was the first one to drink the blood on Draenor. thats why Mannoroth came to him in WC3.
+Rage Kage He is?? How much older. He "looks" younger than Thrall in Warcraft 3
+Juan Jaramillo Grom is definitely not younger than Thrall. Grom is like 20 years older
+Rage Kage OMG you guys just illuminated me :O I thought the little brother thing was just a joke.
Don't know how long this movie will be but based on previous game to movie adaptations, a single movie is not going to be enough
+RUPAK RANA
The whole Warcraft yes it is confusing.
You will end it with the child wanting to hear what happen next so child has something to look forward to the next night.
that's not Outland, draenor doesn't become Outland until after the 2nd invasion.
+sonicfreak1031 Pretty sure the humans named it outland at once they set foot there
+vil ikke my point is, that doesn't happen until warcraft 2
This movie is going to have lots of pointless grinding. I wonder if they will have to collect 12 tusks from lvl1 pigs.
+YrielRazik lol
don't forget to spam left mouse click on the sheeps :O
+YrielRazik there ain't quest like that in wow. Maybe 8 wolf meats from level 1 wolves?
*Boars
+YrielRazik It's Warcraft, the RTS, not World of Warcraft the Grindfest.
They are lucky there weren't any defias pillagers in westfall yet. I don't think the orcs would have survived their fireballs
that would've been hard xD the first Defias will appear only many years after the end of the First War since Stormwind needs to be destroyed first.
+Tholyn thats SO OLDSCHOOL I'm crying IRL :'(
+Tholyn - i still remember my first evening of wow on release day... me as a mage and 2 paladins were running through Westfall and the most dangerous thing there were those stupid lvl11 dust devils, which kept killing us :D
+Tholyn you the real champ
+Tholyn the defias brotherhood comes after the fall of stormwind to rebuild it. additional to this in the 2nd movie i'm sure we'll see, that one of the 7 human kingdoms (The kingdom of Alterac) will help the horde. along with other information n such.
About all that orc skin colour confusion:
Orcs are normally brown.
When they drink demon blood they get red glowing eyes.
They get green skin from fel magic being used all around them.
Thrall was born on fel contaminated Draenor so his skin is obviously green.
+Mobilone Thrall was born on Azeroth, not Draenor wowwiki.wikia.com/wiki/Thrall
No Way True, but wasn't he conceived on Draenor?
+Mobilone I can't really remember but I think he was.
No Way Anyway all that fel magic around him and his parents made his skin green.
+Mobilone they get green from drinking the blood aswell and become red after drinking even more.
wowwiki.wikia.com/wiki/Blood_Curse
There are so many ways to get a green skin (those drained blood elves in WoW have greenish skins aswell)
Gonna give this film a solid shot , it's either Assassin creed or Warcraft that could start an era of solid/gud video game movies
Or The Last of Us which is coming out next year
+Barack Osama what? really? Is it just a rumour or they confirmed it?
+Cloud Sodding Strife So you like Advent Children?
sniffy705 yea the writer of the game (Neil Druckmann) is writing the script, and Sam Raimi is producing it. Maisie Williams is expected to play as Ellie.
***** not this year, possibly late 2016 or 2017

I don't think it really matters now that the movie is out...

At 1:04 I was under the impression that it's the "chamber in the clouds" where the Council of Six from the Kirin Tor meet. Anyone else agree?
yeah i'm in the same boat as you.
+Nicky Morris Yea, I was thinking the same. The bearded guy could very well be Antonidas, instead of Medivh.
+Nicky Morris I'm sure they'll work something out. Maybe they'll have Archimonde crash it into the ground instead.
+Nicky Morris it's called the chamber of Air, it's the meeting point for the Ruling Council of Dalaran, where its members are disguised.
There better be a Leroy Jenkins cameo.
+Sam the Pony Man ommmggg, could you even imagine!?
+ALEK SMITH It was actually in Vanilla
+Losing You to You This is a Warcraft 1 movie
+Sam the Pony Man isnt that a wow thing. this be wc1 fools
+Sam the Pony Man it would be very cringy
11:50 its a funeral not a wedding. Probably a Royal funeral. Notice the funeral pyre?
+Larkfeast
It is King Llane's funeral after Garona assassinated him. Lothar takes over and controls the Alliance.
+Otakahunt Its different canon. they are not following the canon of the original story. Only loosely following the original story.
+Larkfeast not true the director is addicted to wow and said hes not changing lore
+Larkfeast It isn't different canon at all, few minor changes like Dalaran floating for example rather than being on the ground in Hillsbrad Foothills.
if these moves are based on the games then i cant wait for war craft 3 the movie
+shay campbell Hoping we get to Reign of Caos too. That would be awesome. But for that we need to give total support to this film and to an eventual second one telling the story of the second war. Then for the third movie we'll have Arthas ,and Thrall , and Illidan .... WOW.
+Janilovic yes
Ohhh, that'll be great!
Fun Franklin i really just want to see the rise and fall of Arthas
+shay campbell If anything they should do Arthas' story as a seperate trilogy.
"Hey!, You wanna join my guild?!"
Imagine mediv just says that to Durotan
lmao
ok
+Emile Vinesh in leaked footage some time ago i also saw grom hellscream :D
+Emile Vinesh Ner'Zhul's role in this is just an opening for a trillogy. *no spoilers* ;)
+ProtossImba while I get where you're going with that, you do realize he is the sole person responsible for the Horde ever having been created, right?
+Emile Vinesh Spoilers? HAHAHAHAHAHA You do realise the 'spoilers' have been out for 20 years or so....?
i dont think it was Karazhan, i think it was place where Dalaran's Council of Six talk about stuff.
Its just put together like that
the iron decals against the walls all around have dalaran eye shapes so you would assume correct.
+Bhall You say "Kharazhan for sure" but if you look just behind the tower, there is a city with spires attached to it. It's the Violet Tower of Dalaran, not Kharazhan. If it were Kharazhan, there would be a small village set up around its base instead of a walled city.
+Frozenkex Plus there's Kirin Tor sigils all around the roof where the 6 mages are. It is Dalaran. Ign rewinders are plebs.
Those aren't Fel Orcs, they're Tainted Orcs. Fel Orcs are red.
+Mathew Smith "Orc's with the Blood Curse". takes away any confusion :D
+Mathew Smith Any orc that drank demonic blood of a pit lord and is not a brown orc like Durotan is a Fel Orc. Current Orcs are free of the curse but they are still tained by Fel energies.
+Mathew Smith Aren't the red Orcs called Chaos Orcs? If i remember Warcraft 3 correctly.
Chaos Orcs are also red. Fel Orcs are from Outland in WOW, they're basically Chaos Orcs with spikes.
+Mojo Söderström They were called Chaos Orcs in Warcraft 3, because they hadn't yet come up with the name 'Fel' until WoW. Until then they always just called it demonic or chaos magic.
Having seen the Movie and never seen this trailer you realize how much the trailer gives away.
+Ku Dastardly It's a shame. They could have even restored Maim and Rend back to their roles as the perpetrators of that particular fate.
they both die and they left thrall so the wild animals would kill him. I hope in the movie draka puts thrall in the river and then fights the orcs. durotan is already dead
also I hope thrall gets rescued a la moses by Tabetha. not sure if it was her though
+Ku Dastardly And to think, players kept joking that Thrall was "Green Jesus"... he's not Green Jesus, he's Green Moses!
And the term "fel orcs" applies to the red ones and not the green ones.
Has Daleran always been a floating city? I thought that it only became a floating after Archimond destroyed it.
No dalaran was in ground once
+Papa Wheely that's utter shit, they should follow the goddamn storyline. Dalaran beinga lready in the sky is a major plot changer for wc3.
1:06 that is the chamber of air, the council of six met there.
Doesn't take a phD to know Dalaran=purple. Karazhan=hardly any people in it unless the thing's being raided in game.
Tristan Brooks Haha! The most discerning feature of Karazhan is that it's simply a big stone tower on the outside. It's the inside, in all of it's glorious 5th dimension and all of it's features and secrets that makes it special
You're correct but the mage that is in the middle and at the funeral is most certainly Archmage Antonidas.
+Joao Pires (Exloar) IGN was like "Let's get two complete idiots who clearly have no knowledge of the game to break down this trailer.......seems like a good idea!". I counted more incorrect things than I care to mention.
I do not think that is Medivh. I believe that is Khadgar and that's the floating city of Dalaran.
+SinisterSin +1
+SinisterSin in which one? khadgar is just a mage apprentice so he shouldnt be in a position of power in dalaran. Otherwise he could be the one running around in the clips with just one sword.
+SinisterSin Khadgar was a young mage in his early twenties back then, I believe.
Maybe he is the boy who accompanies Lothar on the Gryphon. But the city is Dalaran, I think. And the white-haired mage looking at their arrival doesn't seem to be Medivh. He doesn't fit him at all I think.
+Janilovic I think that might be Moroes. Compare the shot with the actor's photo on IMDB.
Did somebody say [Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker]?
+Jeremy Higgins
lol why no upvotes?!?! where is the barrens chat army ? vanilla boys?
btw do you know where i can find mankrik's wife?
#isurvivedbarrenschat
+Blut Maul Your moms house, loser.....need 2 gold for weapons, anyone?
Time to wait for nobbel to do a breakdown
I am exited till warcraft 3 movie comes out when the scourge attacks loderon and also when they all team up to destroy the legion
good idea
spoliers here
medivh will die
lain will die
durotan and draka will die
blackhand will die
stormwind will be destroyed
lothar will flee to lordaeron
THE HORDE WILL WIN, LOK'TAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR
+yacine isthemastah Orcs win the first war and they get rekt in second war but they still won the first one
Petr Tichy no, the orcs almost destroyed lordaeron but gul'dans betrayl was the reason why they were defeated.
Petr Tichy The first war ended with destruction of stormwind Orcs pretty much winned I myself conssider it as a victory and then the second war started and in this war orcs where defeated
n0M4c your alliance arnt yu
(Grommosh Hellscream and his Warsong clan actually fight through the Alliance guarding the portal in order to escape the crumbling world)
Gul'dan is responsible for many things; but the destruction of Draenor is not one of them.
These guys made so many mistakes its actually kind of unbelievable
yes most of it was wrong
Like what? (I seriously dont know)
Like what? (I seriously dont know)
well about ho fight ho and wath roll everyone has. and were thay are and how are on those places. see the movie as fast as you can and you will see for youself

first legit video game movie. Diablo next pls!
+!POTATO YESSSS plz Diablo
+!POTATO that's be the most boring production ever. like 3 hours of grinding boss to get to another act diablo would be dead in 6-7th part lol
+2sdd 'd*
Draenor was turned into Outland because of Gul'dan opening portals all over Draenor to travel to different worlds.
movie plot: king uses his command table to complete missions. he leaves stormwind to go afk in his garrison. garrosh doesn't have the item level to conquer so he plays Facebook command table. the end.
Isn't Garona actually Medive's lover, how can there be a romance between her and Lothar?
+Rodiacreed They probably scrapped that part of the story because they don't want Ma-danh.
butt head Well Medan doesn't have to be included, but Mediev and Garona is canon.
+butt head Med'an*
butt head lol
Nicholas Cannaday Chamber of Air, I know already. I know my stuff, thanks.
How about you go make your own speculation video then if you know so much? Whining like a teenage girl won't make them reupload.
Alex Coffey looks like someone woke up with some butthurt this Xmas. Rawr
Dayum you guys did not know much about lore and places !
Draenor does not undergo "The Sundering." The Sundering is when the Well of Eternity imploded 10,000 years ago. Draenor didn't shatter until after the events of the first war, but it was corrupted when they began invading Azeroth
I hope they have like a 10 second scene where Stormwind decides to build another barracks and you hear a peasant just say "More work?"
With that being released soon they'll switch focus to Warcraft and have 6 months to polish up the effects.
i think the graphics are ok. The plot seems to be kind of flat and predictible, hopefully i am wrong.
+Jesus Rendon if you dont know story wc 1 I can tell you that the story will be far more better than this trailer shows there will be a lot of twists
Yeah, were is Leroy Jenkins?
I WANNA SEE DWARFS DAMNIT :c
+FLOXI I I APB you cant see it in this video but if you look at the original trailer at 0:56 there is one dwarf sitting on the right side of the table :)
+FLOXI I I APB At 12:02 in this video you can see a dwarf with a hammer fighting an orc, in the left hand corner. :)
+André Skjoldal can't believe you caught that. He is on screen like half a second.
+FLOXI I I APB Dwarf armies would be amazing
+André Skjoldal I think then that is just an orc
A couple of possible points;
- Just as a correction, the Stormwind docks showed up in Wrath of the Lich King.
Henry Cavill shoud play in a future Warcraft movie if this one doesn't flop :3
+Gomace, The Dirt 5 Rengar Exactly - Maybey Turalyon !?
mila kunis too
Who would you want him to play though?
Arthas.
he should possibly play king varian in the future or even in the second or 3rd movie he should play lich king before he becomes lich king (srry i forget his original human name)
wow everything is wrong here
The 10 year old rumors .... they were true :D (Old WoW players will know)
bro XD
I want to hear at least one Bill Roper sound bite somewhere in this movie. Preferably, "Our town is under attack."
I love that the Park is together and not trampled by Darkwing.
I saw this the other day and LOL they are so wroong
you're wrong it doesn't come out till June 10th and where not onJune 10th yet dumbhead
+Andrew Rios it comes out on june 10 in america. in europe and asia its alreadyy out. i saw it yesterday even tho it has been out for about a week here. maybe more
fyi guys this movie is amazing, but if you dont know the watcraft lore, you will be disaapointed
Really? All my friends who watched it know nothing about the lore and they all loved it. Except the friend that i went with. (Well, he loved it too. Just knew about it lol.)
Wrong I don't know the lore I knew what was going on
I new absolutely nothing about it, but I.....REALLY did like it. Like NOT my kind of movie but I LOVED (ish) it
That's why critics gave it such a bad view
legion trailer was 100x better
+DOmetry I love the cut scene is Warcracft 3 where Arthas comes home and does his father in. In fact most of the cutscenes in W3 are marvellous. They seemed to lose a little edginess in WoW though.
+Dimitri I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that.
In the first thing they debate, there are multiple mages. And the metal structure of the arches is shaped like the Eye of Dalaran
The mage you see at the ceremony and I believe the one Khadgar is running to in the tower ain't Medivh. It has to be Archmage Antonidas, being one of the Council of Six.
NEWBS 11:51 isnt a wedding can you not see the giant coffin on the pyre??? All the wood around it for burning? Its a funeral not a wedding.. sheesh...
funeral, wedding? all the same for me, I'll never get either, cuz I'm immortal and forever alone.
in the trailer if you look closely the king's body isn't there (in the movie his body is laid out on top of that tomb).. i think it was edited out so you can't really blame them for making the assumption that it was a wedding.
Their nerd game is on point.
No it's not they got everything wrong.
+fizzrate Great, then don't watch it.
+MrHestolemyname You make zero sense. Why did you even comment? He was right (not eerything is wrong, but many things), just read the comments.
MrHestolemyname You do realize he was talking about the commentary, not the movie?
Esa Edvik Considering the first comment was written like it could've been about Blizzards attention to detail or the commentators theories, there is still an issue. How are THEY wrong ? Or more like, why assume he knows better when the movie hasn't even come out yet by simply saying they got everything wrong? In the end, he is still being cocky, although if it was about the commentators, then yes my first comment is pointless.
spoiler there was a korean high elf... :) i mean asian
Hahaha.. Saw that.. Ridiculous..
The movie seems to be a free adaptation of "The Last Guardian", the book that tells the events of the first days of the Horde invasion by Khadgar's memories of what happened.
the "evil looking medivh" is Antonidas I think. The dalaran archmage Arthas killed in warcraft 3.
+worldowarguru Also, Alterac mountains in the back.
You made this trailer better because when i watched it i didnt notice any of that. i didnt know green was fel orc i thought red was fel orc and i didnt notice the dark portal either so you guys gave me hope that this movie will be awesome!!
i believe its dalaran at the start with
1. the tabard the head mage is wearing looks like that of the kirin tor.
2. its floating in the clouds...and later in the trailer you see a gryphon flying up to it.
3. the metal framing between pylons look like the eye with the 3 arms dropping off of it, which also resembles the symbol of the kirin tor.
i dont know if all this has been said already but there you go :)
At 1:10 I think its Dalaran because on the side of the floating floor, that is visible to us shows a bunch of eyes which is Dalarans mage logo
You guys missed the nightelves at the table of councils! Was so excited to see themThere eyes glow and everything!
8:09 - About the Portal in Azeroth : its NOT Swamp of Sorrows, its the Black Morass
(yes, Blasted Lands, but BM was its old name).
The last scene was the same place (they have been improving the Portal on Azeroth side since their landing)
Remember the instance where you help Medivh open the Dark Portal (Caverns of Time: THE BLACK MORASS Instance) That's what that scene was....
0:59 the city is dalaran.... you can tell from the landscape, the architecture and most important from the kirin tor "eye" symbol
You missed the High Elves at 6:51. Have to slowdown to see it tho.
The Sky chamber is in Dalaran its where the Kirin Tor Council meets, this chamber is described in the Tides of war book just a heads up :)
I stumbled upon this video by mistake.....but in the first 45 seconds, I seriously understood 33% of the words being spoken.
The Old man Mage was Nielas Aran.
Thrall is Green because of the Demon blood curse.
That WAS Karazhan in the beginning lol
Great breakdown of the trailer, guys!
lol "I wanna see 5 nobodies show up like heey we're here to change the timeline!"
You missed a major event in the trailer. Durotan droping his pelt could be the banishment/exile of the frostwolfs.
first thing first, Dalarn that is in the sky is not the origional Dalaran but what was rebuilt after the demon Archimonde destroyed Dalarn the first from Warcraft 3 or 2. i also want to point out the elves used to be members of the Allaince, the blood elves, before they sworn an oath to the horde due to their hunger for magic after they were accused of treachery when stopping the undead advanced before dalarans fall, which is a curse they have received.
A few points of critique:
1) 4:21 this is not Draenor post-Sundering.
I was guessing Dalaran, it was built on a focused ley line so magic being drawn to it was a theme
That one place in the sky toward the beginning isn't Medivh in Karazhan. It would be Khadgar meeting with the Council of Six of Dalaran, which meet in the Chamber of Clouds. (referenced in the beginning of Day of the Dragon).
