Ronnie is saying his mother's terrible abandonment of him made him strong instead of allowing it to lead him to his own self-inflicted death or drug overdose. If his mother had been around it may have been worse for him since she was a serious drug addict. He already had a drug addicted father raising him. He's simply making the most of his pain and trauma and claiming victory over that since he didn't let it destroy him (literally). Wonderful reaction though, so deep!
His mom abandoned Ronnie and his brother Anthony when he was very young. His mom was a drug addict and so was his brother and he died in a motorcycle accident. His father also had substance abuse issues but raised him and his brother. Dad was in a motorcycle club. When Ronnie was I think a teenager his dad became a born again Christian and started a Christian motorcycle club. The end with his daughter represented his fear of her inheriting the addiction that he and the rest of his family dealt with.
In his older songs he talked to God alot. Idk what caused him to change. Theres a line in one of his song It's Over When It's Over "God can you hear me). Another one is God Are You Above
Religion can be traumatizing, depending on the upbringing. Some go through "spiritual abuse" by family members. However, some of us simply did our own research and finally came to the conclusion that it's an illusion. I suspect it may be a bit of both with Ronnie, as well as a lot of the hypocrisy that can come with especially Christianity. This reactor here though is a rare gem who can appreciate the music, disagree with some of the lyrics and yet still have compassion and try to understand.
Excellent breakdown. I think this whole trilogy was about facing and fighting your inner demons so to speak. Trying to conquer them on your own. Though we know the best way to do that is by the blood of Jesus. I feel for Ronnie and pray he one day comes to the truth.
He has come to the truth, his truth. So have I. I relate so very deeply to how Ronnie feels about religion and how it shows up in his lyrics and videos. I feel entirely free now and have never felt more spiritually connected to my own sense of faith and the beyond. I can say though that as someone who spent 50 years as a Christian I totally understand how you would want to pray for him or me or anyone else no longer believing but I hope you realize that most of us over here also "deeply wish" that believers would come to what WE know to be our truth, as much as you know yours to be yours.
This was the last video of a 3-part trilogy. It came before popular monster. Since you didn’t know what was happening, you obviously didn’t watch the 2nd one. In order: 1) Losing my mind 2) Losing my life 3) Drugs Every one of the reactions i have watched from you has been SO confusing and incoherent. It’s like you miss the whole point - the meaning behind the song / video - on purpose. Is that for the views and social interaction? 🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
I'm course what you think of a non God but evidents of space and time or science just your selection on the argument of other things the Bible seems done and maybe there's something else we have been choked with this maybe there's something else?wish you the best let's be a small spec in life God and Bible is work of old ideas
I tend to agree with your view... BUT there's being atheist or agnostic and then there's being a dick about it, you're on a pastors page bro just watch a different point of view from yours take what you want from it but don't hate on it world would be pretty boring and shitty if we all believed the same things

It's a Trilogy
"Losing my mind", "Losing my life" and "Drugs"

That is Corey Taylor from Slipknot.
At least he speaks out about real stuff. Which is why i love their music. We are not all meant to see and experience the world through the same lens.

Hmm got it. So I had it right. Thanks for recommending them.

I'm not religious but I really enjoyed your reaction!
I don't think Ronnie is agnostic, certainly not atheist. He references God as real. Wears a cross earring. He knows down deep that God is real. ❤
❤❤❤❤❤
This one he's killing off his old self
Have you heard anything from Ren?

I respectfully disagree with you my friend. You have been lied to.

Sorry that was incoherent
Are you referring to the whole reaction as incoherent or some specific parts of it.
Sorry pastor I'm probably the worst person
