I made this Tarte Au Soleil this morning using my own pesto sauce. It turned out FABULOUS! My husband and I ate the whole thing w/a couple glasses of wine...of boy, was that good! He was so funny when he said to me 'Don't share this recipe w/anyone!' and he meant it!!! Thx Beth
A tip: if you don't have a cookie sheet without sides, just flip over your regular cookie sheet and put the parchment on the back and cook it that way. Temp and time are the same.
Thank you!!! I am definitely slow today! Have been asking all my friends if they have a rimless cookie sheet....duh, just flip it over...omg....making both version today for a get together tonight. Yummy!
in France it called Mediterranean Soleil tart. It comes along with other ingredients on the top of your homemade pesto such caramelized onions, olive tapenade or sliced black olives, sliced artichoke and of course served with a glass of full bodied chateau Margaux ... soooo good
I love you Beth, you’re always a life saver. I was looking for a easy appetizer seeing I’m driving from out of state this year to cook for my family at home and time is short. I been making everything you post for my family and it’s always a hit. Never learned to cook and now I cook for Two big family’s. Thanks for being internet mom/ hero
Awe that's the best comment ever! :) It's truly been my goal with this channel from the beginning, to convert those who never learned to cook, into lifelong cooks who knock it out of the park for their friends and family! There's no greater feeling than to spend time cooking a delicious meal that then gets rave reviews! Such a sense of accomplishment and joy! :) Keep up the great work!!
I made this for Thanksgiving with an apple filling, topped with a little powdered sugar. The results were stellar! I got comments like "You MADE this?" and "Wow!" Obviously, I am making it again for Christmas morning :) Thanks Beth! You are so inspiring!
The possibilities for this idea are endless. Sweet or Savoury. Mine will be a breakfast "croisant" with good strawberry jam . Imagine it with a great cappuccino.
Hi from South Africa I love all ur recipes & the expert & easy way that u explain those that I tried all were successful 😊 Plse continue with France Those little bakeries / coffee shops /the atmosphere is so beautiful Loved the outdoors eating sardines for the first time Love ur house in France (what detail) & the shelves with all the Crockery cutlery etc., glad you are back👏👏
I made the chocolate version of this yesterday and it was a hit! Everyone loved the shape of it and kept me asking how I made it - and in reality it was sooo easy that I had to laugh :)) Thank you Beth, greetings from Istanbul
I like your videos before I even watch them . You are such a great baker. I love your delivery ,presentation, thoroughness, and your generosity in sharing such lovely recipes . Thank you. !!!
Wow! I'm having a group of friends over next week I think this is the perfect recipe! I May just improvise with different fillings. A sweet and a veggie type. Impressive.
I followed all your steps and made some little triangular pieces with the offcuts and the pesto to taste and save the tarte. I used the two long offcut strips to make a cheese and tomato pie. The dogs ate the leftover egg wash. As you see, I can't waste anything! The tarte, well, the tarte looked gorgeous, very impressive! I took a photo on my mobile and showed it to the young woman that served me with the pesto as she wanted to know what I was using it for. She said "WOW!" but honestly, it really did look great! Thank you Both and all your devotees. XXX
I made this for a Winter Solstice party and my friends LOVED it, thanks, Beth! The only problem was that they all wanted the recipe and found out how easy it was, so I could no longer impress them with my amazing skill!
I have made both of these numerous times and because of your expert guidance they have turned out beautifully & been really popular. Thank you, keep your recipe ideas coming.🤩
Oh wow! What a show stopper. And it seems the possibilities with the filling could be endless. Maybe raspberry jam and cream cheese? Anyway, I’m definitely going to give this a go!
Aww how wonderful! So glad to be of service! :) Yes lots of yummy French recipes to try! Here's a playlist of some of my favorites :) ruclips.net/p/PLA8NZSto-k4NJm-_GzFNy2R_lUQ1vVlD2 Hope you enjoy the dishes and France!
i know it is a LOT of work but i would really love to see your whole christmas menus that you used to do years ago, the turkey, the appetizers and desserts all in the same video, those are the kind of videos that really make me feel that christmas is around the corner haha.
Oh sure! Perfect timing! I just did one last week for Thanksgiving ruclips.net/video/qf7azPxci8g/видео.html and on Dec 4th I'll be posting a new one for Christmas Brunch :) . Stay tuned! :) xx
I loved this you can make anyway by adding just about any flavor I have tried it with lemon pudding and Brie. Chocolate with crumbled nuts. Caramel and vanilla pudding and the list goes on and on I love this recipe.Thank you so much for this video Lori B
We made these for a dinner party recently. Both the Nutella and the pesto ones. Apparently Trader Joe's pastry sheets are a seasonal item, so they only have em during Christmas. However, I found that using the Pepperidge Farm from Target works just as well. The only thing is, you have to set it on the countertop to thaw and soften, so that you can unroll it into one giant sheet. If you do it when it's cold and frozen, you'll just get three thin sheets. :) Oh, not to mention, they were a hit.
You never stop impressing us Beth. This are beautiful and easy to make. Now I have to decide which one I’m going to make first since they both sound and look super yummy 😋
Judy Lee make a clear glaze with about cup and 1/2 powdered sugar, 1/2 tsp vanilla and a tablespoon or 2 of water. Stir till smooth but thick. Drizzle over while hot. Omg seriously just so good. I’m a retired pastry chef and can bake just about anything yet when asked to a pot luck or any kind of dinner I take one of these. Never any leftovers to bring home 😋
The napkins look very pretty, we used to do these in our home economics class in 5th or 6th grade or have our grandmas teach us. I still have some to this day:)!
Down here in Boston with my daughter and grandchildren I browse through YT for puff pastry recipes for the young ones and hurray what do I find! Beth’s entertaining dishes so tempting and mind blowing for a person from India ! I have already made the braided puff pastry and Iam coming back to Beth for more! Thankyou Beth you made my day and such attractive tasty puff pastries!God bless!
Thank you so much for this recipe. I was looking for an appetizer to take to a dinner party this week and an appetizer for my Christmas open house. Not only will these variations work for both but now I can use the puff pastry in my freezer.
@@thesnob7 I was thinking some Chevre with herbs de provence along with the sun dried tomatoes. Or a combination of whole roasted garlic, kalamata olives and chevre.
I’ve made this several times by now and it always gets wiped out fast. It’s also good to put some shredded cheese and Italian prochuto (don’t remember the spelling) but it’s so yummy. Thanks Beth!
Beth, you're killing it with this one they're absolutely beautiful and it seems a shame to have to eat them!! Since you didn't mention it, I will for the benefit of those unfamiliar with using puff pastry - keep it cold and ALWAYS use a very sharp knife to cut it to avoid ripping the dough. This sunburst will be a perfect addition to our our upcoming Holiday brunch.I may have to do a dress rehearsal with this one, LOL! My husband and I bought this built in 1984 house this past June. He cooks, I bake and while we both liked the overall layout of the kitchen it had white period appliances and oak cabinets. I'm a retired kitchen/bath designer still in the loop and hired a cabinet maker to shuffle some of the cabinets and make a few new ones, a painting crew to paint the cabinets and a counter top crew to make new tops. New appliances and, AND I got my 36"w x 24"d chilled marble dough rolling slab in a 30"h cabinet!!!
I feel like I'm in Math class. All these perimeter, quarter, inch, got me all twisted. Thought we were gonna have a radius and find the circumference at some point. Awesome recipe and super presentation ma'am. 😊
I was thinking the same thing (12/15/19) but I am concerned about spinach ‘strings.’ Please update and tell how it turned out ( I don’t have a processor).
Super easy, delicious and fun to serve! Kids coming from Europe and Australië for Christmas home to Africa, this mom is going to be a hit this christmas! Thanks for this recipe!
Love this delightful flower so pretty & elegant... your use of sesame seeds nice touch very stylish centre piece. Hey Beth. I’ve loved your channel for a long while now. Could you do a video where you take us around with yourself for grocery shopping? I would love to see how you shop. 😊
Thanx Beth! I made it for guests and they couldn't have enough! I had to fight for a little piece just to try it : D))) It's delicious! I made my own Vegan Pesto with store bought Vegan Puff pastry. I've added black pepper and a bit of chilly, with sesame seeds on top. Next time I have guests, I'll make two!
Hi Beth, just wanted to thank you for all your amazing recipes, I really look forward to a new clip coming out. We had friends over for the weekend recently so decided to have a go at your Tarte au Soleil. It worked really well, and our friends loved it! I also love the cheery way you present each recipe, makes you feel you can do it too! Many thanks
Aww so glad to hear that Jane! This is one of our favorites too! And thank you for your kind words about the channel, I'm so glad to hear you look forward to the videos! I have a new one coming out next week, Chicken Marsala! Stay tuned!
Beth... your channel is just amazing... I both use your delightful recipes sometimes as they are or tweak them in a way of my choosing... none the less they always come out spectacular and to this I appreciate your guidance... hope to encounter each other in France one day... from a very happy new participant in our journeys. Bon appetite to life, love , friends , family and happiness.. ❤
Aww I'm so glad you enjoy it! Always such a joy to share! :) Yes I've been noticing a lot of new fans in France and it would be fun to do a meet up of some kind one day!!
So easy looking to make, thanks!!! I can serve it to our across the street French neighbors who are coming back from their summer apartment in Paris to their winter home in Palm Springs.
Pleeease do more vegan recipes Beth!! Love your videos. 💚🌱 For people with vegan/ lactose intolerant relatives.. or can't eat dairy etc themselves. Lots of pre made puff pastry is actually vegan! (At least it is here in the U.K. Be sure to double check.) There are also 'free from' (but almost identical) options for both jars of Nutella and pesto, in most supermarkets. Which replace the dairy and eggs etc , but taste fantastic. (For egg wash I just use some plant based milk!) It's always nice to try and include everybody's dietary needs where possible! Especially around the holidays. 🎄
I made this beauty for an after Thanksgiving brunch. It was a hit. So pretty, so delicious & so easy. Thanks for sharing this with us! Can’t wait to make the chocolate version some time. Was also thinking that raspberry jam would be fabulously sprinkled with powdered sugar, of course.
Shachi Phene Could I suggest that it might sound like a good idea but pesto is cheesy & salty enough as it is. Feta might make it inedible. Why not try onion chutney with feta?
Here it is three years later and this video is still incredibly popular this time of the year! Glad you asked that Shachi.. I was wondering if feta.. or maybe some grated Fontina or something like that) would be a good addition.. I guess if you didn't overdo it (so that cheese was oozing everywhere), why not!? LOL.. 😋 MMm.. Thank you again Beth... three years later...
Hi Beth! For the first time after years of watching your videos, I can finally say I tried making one of your recipes -- and it was a great success and so easy!! I used a smaller plate for my circle because there's only three people in my apartment, so I could only turn one twist per section, but it still looked and tasted great! Oh, and we didn't have any eggs on hand so I just used a mix of olive oil, parmesan, and garlic powder which actually tasted very good with the pesto :-) I already bought some hazelnut spread for the next go-round. Love your videos and recipes, thanks for this simple and beautiful one!
They i loved this deffo on my list next to do ,did a goats cheese with fig and balsamic chutney for my aunties party it wrnt down a treat, that was inspired by you,now i have been told everyone wants more,
Stumbled over the tarte au soleil by accident (I'm a new subscriber) and this will sure be the appetizer at my next invitation or coffee morning - which ever will be first. I'll give it a try with homemade Pesto Rosso and Mozzarella. Thanks for the great 'n easy idea!
Wow! That is impressive and it looks easy. When I saw the Tarte I thought oh oh this is going to be complicated. Going to try this it's sounds delicious and looks Impressive.

So easy looking to make, thanks!!! I can serve it to our across the street French neighbors who are coming back from their summer apartment in Paris to their winter home in Palm Springs.
Oh that's perfect! :) And what a nice lifestyle they have! That sounds ideal :)
I’m going to make this with fruit mince in it for Christmas morning.
Bell Bird How was it? Shall I make it too?
Som Thing It was delicious. Just make sure your fruit mince is not too sloppy.
Love puff pastry recipes, they are such show stoppers.
This looks so easy and so elegant
Oh it is that's the best part! Super easy and so impressive! Guests are always amazed by it ha! :)
Pleeease do more vegan recipes Beth!! Love your videos. 💚🌱
For people with vegan/ lactose intolerant relatives.. or can't eat dairy etc themselves.
Lots of pre made puff pastry is actually vegan! (At least it is here in the U.K. Be sure to double check.)
There are also 'free from' (but almost identical) options for both jars of Nutella and pesto, in most supermarkets.
Which replace the dairy and eggs etc , but taste fantastic. (For egg wash I just use some plant based milk!)
It's always nice to try and include everybody's dietary needs where possible!
Oh yes you must try the sweet versions too! Also really good! :) So glad the pesto one was a hit! YAY! :)
Amazing!! Indefinitely want to try making that! Thank you, we make Swahili food from east Africa
The pesto one would be so good with a bit of crumbled feta in there :P
Oh yes for sure! Great idea :)
Yasssss!
Shachi Phene Could I suggest that it might sound like a good idea but pesto is cheesy & salty enough as it is. Feta might make it inedible. Why not try onion chutney with feta?
Yum!!
It look's like a fancy spanakopita at first glance. :)
Awe I'm so happy to hear you finally made something :) . Ha! Good for you! See it was easy right? :) And fun I hope? xx
