Earth Wind & Fire has an insane catalog of music! They have been my favorite band since the 1970s. If you have a chance, look up info on the mastermind behind EWF -- Maurice White (R.I.P.). There is NO OTHER group that sounds like them. They have great party music, message music...and ballads that have been responsible for part of the population increase since the 70s. ❤

A very sweet reaction from my all time favorite band 😎! I see 👁👁 that you have reacted to EW&F before: Let's Groove and After The Love Has Gone. This song just touches the soul with Phillip Bailey on lead vocals. Reasons wasn't released as a single from EW&F's 1975 album: That's The Way Of The World. It was written by Philip Bailey, Charles Stepney, Verdine White and Maurice White. It was produced by Maurice White.
The ballad Reasons is considered a love song by listeners and fans and as such, is often played at weddings - a fact that surprised band members, since the song and lyrics tell a story about a one-night stand: "Longing to love you, just for a night". After the couple makes love, disillusionment strikes: "After the love game has been played / All our illusions were just a parade / And all our reasons have to fade".
"Reasons" has also been covered by artists such as The Manhattans on The Manhattans (1976), Miki Howard on Love Confessions (1987), Maxi Priest on Maxi (1987), Reel Tight on Back To The Reel (1999) and Nelson Rangell on Far Away Day (2000). Musiq Soulchild also covered the song on the 2007 Earth, Wind & Fire tribute album: Interpretations Celebrating The Music Of Earth, Wind & Fire and Omarion on his 2017 album Reasons.

Prominent members have included Philip Bailey, Verdine White, Ralph Johnson, Larry Dunn, Al McKay, Roland Bautista, Robert Brookins, Sonny Emory, Fred Ravel, Ronnie Laws, Sheldon Reynolds and Andrew Woolfolk. The band is known for its kalimba sound, dynamic horn section, energetic and elaborate stage shows, and the contrast between Phillip Bailey's falsetto and Maurice White's baritone.
Earth, Wind & Fire is a live instrument music band whose music spans the genres of Jazz, R&B, Soul, Rock, Funk, Disco, Pop, Big Band, Latin-Caribe and Afro-Pop. They are among the best-selling bands of all time with record sales of over 90 million records worldwide.
Earth, Wind & Fire has won 6 Grammy Awards out of 17 nominations and 4 American Music Awards out of 12 nominations.
Phillip Bailey has released several solo albums. The band has received an ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Heritage Award, a BET Lifetime Achievement Award, a Soul Train Legend Award, a NARAS Signature Governor's Award, a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, the 2012 Congressional Horizon Award, a 2012 Lifetime Achievement Award at the Trumpet Awards, in 2012 received Major League Baseball's Beacon of Change award and were included in the Kennedy Center Honors in 2019.
Rolling Stone magazine has called them "innovative, precise yet sensual, calculated yet galvanizing" and declared that the band "changed the sound of black pop". VH1 has described EW&F as "one of the greatest bands" of all time. Earth, Wind & Fire were also ranked at number 60 on VH1's list of the 100 Greatest Artists of Rock & Roll.
EW&F continues to tour and play their music live on stage all around the world in 2023.
