This works great. My finger is relaxed.
xD
She's a master. Walked onto the stage, set herself, took a deep breath, exhaled, waited for the crowd to quiet down, and began to speak. She says "Here's the scenario..." Her delivery alone in those first 3 words was so soothing. I'd like to reach that level one day.
just blow your finger
did you?
Great presentation! Dr. Gartner-Schmidt has done a lot excellent work to educate voice professionals and performers - This TED talk is a great addition!!
You guys really know who to have on your channel. Every time I watch them I feel more confident about life
Dr. Gartner-Schmidt gave a wonderful talk! She addressed “voice and emotion”, a current topic, and she nailed it! This is important not only for professional voice users but also for all of us who rely on communication daily.
This is amazing. I've intuit this already even though I've haven't heard a single study done on this subject. I just happen to listen to a voice of one person whom I somehow admire and a desire to copy her tone. So I observe and listen to my speaking voice. Yet the more I focus to the way I speak, the more nervous I get lol and altogether I sometimes forget what to say
Wow, Great content! Thank you 😊
Informative! Will practice this exercise before my trainings.
Wow so spectacular and intriguing
Thanks
Dr. Gartner-Schmidt gave a fantastic lecture to my doctoral class last year on this topic. So enlightening and educational. So glad you gave a TED Talk Jackie!
wow that an amazing and fascinating. Suddenly i know that...very worthy. thanks you very much and should watch Ted more
When my emotions run high, i go into a very high pitch. I realised after years that i am almost always anxious.
Now I don't want to sound skeptical, but I felt her nervousness at the start of this speech...
That would be pretty normal.
It is expected, we are all humans. However, she probably does a better job than most of us.
@@bluegiant13 You guys... I wouldn't have commented if she was not talking precisely about controlling your emotions for the voice not the be hijacked...
Does this explain why some people have problem 'screaming' in their nightmares.
If they ever make a bio about the life of Senator Susan Collins, Dr. Gartner-Schmidt would get the part over anyone on planet Earth.
timing
Lets go brandon
Has anyone tried this? Does it work?
heres an idea, and seems pretty harmful. maybe, try it, yourself ?
FRIDAYLXVE goddamn they just wanted to know beforehand 😭😭😭
It doesn’t work
@@nicolasbuhtoiarov9268 What were you trying to achieve through it though?
It doesn't make you less nervous, but it makes the voice less dependent on your emotional state, which makes it easier to talk without having a super shaky voice, even if you're nervous.
This don’t work
The overt panda extracellularly tap because look dimensionally yawn among a grubby gruesome uganda. serious, plausible sister-in-law
She can speak no problem but her presentation is visibly an act, she needs to go back to her full length mirror and watch herself as if shes a member of the audience.. Shes well practiced but far from being a natural
Kind of rude.
look at the source.
