    Awesome stain as usual. I'd love to see your take on Gibson's "desert burst" finish. It's one of their most inconsistent finishes, it changes from year to year and from model to model, but I always end up liking it for some reason, even if it never looks the same.

    Can I ask would these colours work on spalted maple?

    I'm planning to do my first refinish job with stain (videos like yours are an inspiration) and I was thinking of putting a maple veneer on the guitar, do you have any tips on how to work with that? I imagine I'll want to sand as little as possible since the veneer is paper thin (0.5 mm)

    • @bigdguitars
      @bigdguitars  3 года назад

      yea you can't sand a veneer. if you do you loose some of that depth.

    I have a big figured maple that I want to turn into a keyboard tray for my wife. Its got some neat patterns, but most the ppl online finishing the figured wood are using like the cream of the crop. Keyboard tray want to stay fairly natural looking, but I want it to pop a little.
