Wow, that's pretty sweet. I think the back actually turned out better than the front, but the whole thing is amazing. Your ability with these stain bursts is astonishing D! 😲 😎
Hey Derek, love this video, such a classic look with that Brockburst. Hey could you tell me if any of the Angelus leather dyes match the classic Vintage Amber tone? StewMac sells a good vintage amber, but it’s about four times the cost of Angelus dyes by the time it lands here in Australia.
Off topic question here, but have you ever replaced the bearing(s) in that Makita sander. I bought that sander several years ago (thanks to you! lol) and it's great, but has started to wobble a bit. I think it's my fault for using just the edge too much. Just wondering if you know about the process of restoring one.
Awesome work, thanks for the video. What grit sandpaper do you use for sanding after the first time you stained? And at roughly 10:00 you said you should have added Napa(?) first. What is that?
Hey D. Have you had any success with odies oil over these stain bursts (without smearing). I like the idea of odies but concerned with this. Video idea? Hmmm?
Beautiful!
you did a fantastic job ! I will post pictures of full build soon' thanks' again !
Perfect timing, I'm getting ready to stain my firebird bird (with a lip) in sunburst. Thanks for all the tips and demonstration.
Wow, really great job! Gorgeous guitar body.
Thank you
D, that looks killer! I cannot believe it! It looks as if this was natural, as if the color stems from the wood!
How exciting to see your guitar getting done on video!!! Great job as always!
Popped up again so I guess I’ll watch it again!!! Love this one ❤️❤️❤️
Love TruOil! The feel, look and especially on the neck. Elegant looking.
Derek, well done looks like it will match the neck perfectly
The weathered look @9:55 was pretty cool too!
Amazing!!! I have a kit just like it to start on soon!! Wow beautiful work!
Beautiful! Happy to see a new staining video 😀
Beautiful ending!
My cat sat and watched the whole video... lol true story... Great job!
Looks great!!!🔥🔥🔥

Awesome! Will I get similar results on a mahogany firebird body? Just bought the dye
Good job Derek. Daddy's proud.
Finally, finally an old school stainjob!
Is that just plain red Angelus dye?
Stunning end result btw! I'm doing a Tele and this video is a goldmine of awesomeness!
Very nice!
Very nice, as always.
Looks good
That is one piece of true craftmanship. So sorry you live so for away.
Thanks for the video! No pre stain wood conditioner?
No just right on bare wood

What dyes ar you using?
I come back and reference these videos to give me the courage to burst a catalpa body that I have!

I did this video. Odie's Oil Finishing Product Review
I saw the rewiew. Its what got me interested in the product but that was over bare wood if i remember.
Yea it was bare. I think if you sealed in in sanding sealer you would be ok.
Ah. That answers my other question. Odies is ok over sanding sealer?
“Never done a stain on a lip before” That’s one of my main issues… lol… touching my face while working I always manage to stain my lip🤪🤪🤪
Great work D
I love Firebirds.... 😍😍😍😍😍♥️😜
Spectacular
Nice!
Love you avatar
My anxiety level would be so high doing that, you're cool as a cucumber.
Ok, I’ll bite. What does Brock mean.
That is the blondest Alder I've ever seen . Looks like Poplar .
😀😃😄👍
Alder??? Looks like Ash to me…
