The woman being named “Alotta Fagina” is a play on Bond film girls having suggestive names. Like “Pussy Galore” in Goldfinger (1964) or “Honey Ryder” in Dr. No (1962) or “Xenia Onatopp” in Goldeneye (1995), etc
and the big Japanese guy who threw his shoe was a take off on the villain in the James Bond movie "Goldfinger" named Odd Job who looked exactly the same and who threw his hat (with a razor edged rim).
SO happy u guys watched this. i hope u finish the series!!! they’re all so good i think you’d definitely enjoy them. love your reactions 🖤
hi Haley, do you have instagram? you seem like a cool person to add :P
You think the third one is good?🤨
I actually enjoy all of them, too. With the first and third being my favorites.
Yes, we need Mustafa’s return and Molemember! Goldmoleber! Goldmember’s mole!
Don’t say mole…
I said mole…
A lot of references to old spy movies, esp James Bond movies. Lotta Fachina = Pussy Galore, Unusual Tasks = Odd Job, I think it was Dr. No that had a white cat, etc. Also Mike Myers movies all have classic '60s and '70s music in them (see the Shrek series).
My dad passed away in 2012 and I was in Memphis in a truck stop for the weekend. It was watching the Austin Powers trilogy that helped me get through
Hi Barbara, please accept our condolences. We’re glad you had something to take your mind off your troubles, even if briefly. Thanks for sharing.
@@ReelinwithAsiaandBJ thank you so much! Glad you are enjoying these movies
OMG This movie never gets old 😂
Glad y'all watched & enjoyed this one!! In my opinion, each one gets better & funnier!! I STILL gut-giggle every time i even THINK about a line, let alone, SAY a line from one of them!!! Looking forward to watching them with y'all! Please take care of each other "And if ain't nobody told you, I love you"...but nothing like how Jesus do!!! Really looking forward to watching "...the next, VIDE-O, Y'AAAALLLL!!!", w/y'al!!! Later...
The Spy Who Shagged Me is the funniest of the Austin Powers movies. All three are worth watching, but the second one is the best.
I just thought everyone should know that a few seconds after he questioned Austin’s prostate health I got an ad on prostate health.
Do what you will with that information but I laughed my ass off.
Part 2 is amazing. I love the 3rd to be honest too
It would be a riot if the two of you dressed up as Austin and Vanessa next Halloween.
Yeah, baby! YEAH! You've got to watch the rest of them, baby! That'd be groovy, baby! (Imagine a little Chest Hair Emoji here- I did!🤣)
That statue is Bob’s Big Boy….Icon of the restaurant chain of the same name.
the intro scene with the women chasing austin is a parody of The Beatles movie”A Hard Days Night”. even the newspaper bit.
Very funny movie, I remember having a round bed. If someone saw it, the first thing they said was Austin Powers. Lol
Great reaction, as always! Not sure if you noticed but Mike Myers played the role of both Austin Powers and Dr. Evil. And he will also play more characters in the final two. Please watch the entire trilogy.
Thanks he's a legend hah
And Heather Grahm...and Mike Myers shadow puppet dancing in the tent with lights on inside 🎪!!!
Actually 12 years young... before aids in nor cal camping with family bass fishing...guess what... really big bass I brought home... pussy!! Uncles cousins gave a ✌ thumbs up.!!!
@@josephhickman4759 that tent scene made me almost pee my pants the first time I saw it
When I heard that Burt Bacharach had passed, the first thing I thought of was the double decker bus scene from this movie. It was so nice seeing him play the piano and sing.
Jamie, yes, he was such a great songwriter, but always had other people perform his songs. It was so nice to see him on the piano and singing.
As a millennial, this is the scene I think of most
Burt passed? So sad to hear that! Loved his music
No but seriously the second I saw that I remember saying out loud “ladies and gentleman, Mr. Burt Bacharach”
"Babe, you cannot have it flapping in the wind, though. That's just not gonna work for me."
-Asia
😆😂🤣
The henchman in the hat is Random Task. In the James Bond movie Goldfinger, his name was OddJob and he threw his hat, not his shoe. The hat had a sharpened steel brim so it was pretty lethal. I think the shoe throwing might be a reference to when Khrushchev banged his shoe on the desk in protest at a United Nations meeting, although I could be wrong about that.
In real life, random tasks actor went to jail for a gang assault on a woman that happened in 1990, shits crazy
yeah, if it was Odd Job from Goldfinger, Austin would be dead. Instead he gets hit by a shoe and exclaims "Ow! That really hurt!" which strangely is one of my fave parts of the movie.
Goldfinger also gave us Pussy Galore (aka Alotta Fagina).
@@jessemalone8363 He also fought in UFC 4. He took repeated punches to the groin (Which was completely legal back then) in that fight.
@Jesse Malone Yep...he was taken in for felony vandalism and as part of his plea he had to submit a DNA sample which linked hin to the 1990 gang rape. In 2017 he was further convicted of voluntary manslaughter in the death of his cell mate. He's serving a max life sentence.
This movie is funny on its own, but it’s HILARIOUS if you’ve seen the early James Bond films it’s parodying. Hopefully you guys have seen a few of them so you could truly appreciate this gem.
I can't imagine anyone there age has never seen a handful of bond movies.
@@5hanesBoard Maybe the Daniel Craig ones but I do not think they have seen any prior to those.
Also rest in peace mr burt Bacharach he passed away this February at an amazing age of 94 I think
@@5hanesBoard it is quite possible in the UK, ITV one of the main channels (which is also free) shows them all every year, often more than once. Tonight they have the man with the golden gun, and a few weeks ago I watched goldmember, er I mean goldfinger.
What he said! You can go back and watch any of the Roger Moore/ James Bond movies, and you will know exactly what he’s talking about… 😆
Ah!!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 So glad you watched this! All three are a must!
Now, everyone is right for letting you know that this movie references the old spy movies, but the opening credits - why Austin is running from the girls - is a reference to The Beatles and the opening to their movie "A Hard Day's Night." You watch the Fab Four trying to outrun their fans (crazed teen girls) on their way to the train station.
Also, the actress who plays Mrs. Kensington - Mimi Rogers - also plays the mom in the cult classic, Ginger Snaps (2000). Great movie for next October's line up ;)
This was so much fun - my cheeks hurt from smiling so much at your reactions and one-liners. I grew up with these films when I was in elementary school so it's wild to me to think others didn't see them at the time - one of those franchises I don't even think to recommend for that very reason, but so glad I get to see your delight at being introduced to our groovy gentleman spy. (I forsee some shagadellic costumes for next Halloween or cosplay for the next two installments. 😉😂 ) Can't wait to see "The Spy Who Shagged Me" and "Goldmember" uploads, please keep going!
Heather Grahm
The cheeks both front and back. Dang did I actually think that aloud... she looked him yeah baby you did...hahaha
The bell bottoms. And before aids scare and etc. Imagine trying out run the cops wearing those.
@@josephhickman4759 god she ruins that whole movie. Not that it was a good movie to begin with, but she is terrible. Thankfully 3 and Beyonce are lightyears better.
I remember watching this as a kid. So much funnier as an adult 🤣🤣 My favorite part is when Austin tries to backup on the cart. Also, fun fact Moustapha is played by Will Ferrell
I thought it was him, only now rewatching it. Not a fan of him but I was like will Ferrell
@@charleyblack101 same, I can't stand Will Ferrell live action roles except in a couple circumstances; this movie and Zoolander.
@@RidgeR5 ya don't like him either, except also in The Other Guys and The Producers and Stranger Than Fiction and...
@@RidgeR5what about Step Brothers?!?!?! One of the funniest movies of the late 2000’s!
No shit it's will Ferrell 😂😂
You guys should definitely watch the OG James Bond films now! They’re so fun and then you’ll understand more of the references in the Austin Powers movies.
Especially the hairy chest bit. Sean Connery had a beautiful one!!
@@lorihagerty7833 indeed!
To me James Bond is Sean Connery, but to Ian Flemming Bond was Powers Booth.
Living with BJ must be a riot every word that comes out of his mouth I’m cracking up😂😂😂
He does have some pretty good comedic timing.
I want Asia's laugh as my ringtone.
Wow that would actually be awesome. I wish I thought of that. I love these two people.
Absolutely!
100% agreed 🤘
Me too!!
She could make some money.
"what exactly do you do number two?"
"That's my business, now please excuse me I need to use the little boy's room"
Best joke 😂
Who does Number Two work for?
Fun fact about "hairless" cats. They actually have a very soft fur undercoat that you can't really see so they are very pleasant and warm to the touch. They cannot go outside in the sun cause they can get burnt up and obviously get colder in the winter.
There are those movies you remember having so much fun watching. The theater audience I watched this with was laughing out loud throughout. Mike Myers did a wonderful job spoofing and paying homage to the 60s spy genre. Especially a tribute to James Bond movies. But with ridiculous and funny style. "Yeah, Baby"! 🤣
I also really loved the sequels. "Spy Who Shagged Me" and "Goldmember". Especially the 3rd movie. Spoofs the Dutch. 😆
It also features Beyoncé as a "Powers Girl". I always thought she should be an actress. Really shines in the 3rd movie.
I'm half-Dutch American. Pokes fun but it's all in funny taste. Don't be sensitive and offended. It's comedy. I hope you two check out and watch the sequels. Just laugh and feel good. Thanks, BJ and Asia!
You two always get me laughing. You have great chemistry.
Watching the frozen part, that is like "Demolition man", that is a movie you definitely need to watch. Sly Stallone at his best and Wesley snipes at his best. One of the best action movies of all time. Not to mention Lenina Huxley (Sandra Bullock) in one of her first major rolls.
"Warm liquid goo phase" cracks me up!
Mellow greetings, sir. What seems to be your boggle?
Glad you guys got to this Gem. Now you MUST watch part 2. It is equally funny and we are introduced to the legendary “Minnie Me”….
Great reaction! Glad you two liked it. The second and third ones are the funniest. It's one of the rare times that the sequels are better
You'll get more out of the trilogy if you've seen the James Bond films. The guy with the hat was a parody of "Odd Job" who was this Japanese assassin who killed people in "The Man with the Golden Gun" by throwing his steel rimmed hat like a Frisbee. So the guy in Austin Powers is called "Random Task" and kills people with a shoe. Def worth watching all 3 AP movies.
*Korean Assassin (Though he studied Karate in Japan, he hated being mistaken forJapanese!) & the film was "Goldfinger" 😉👍
That’s GROOVY baby… YEAHHH!!” 🤓🤓🤓. I hope you can do the whole series but in my opinion, the 1st one is the best of the lot 👍😄
You think the 1st is best......Ohhh behaaave
@@multiversal2023 … Hey, we all have our reasons & personal choices & that’s mine… I like the original 👍🤓
@Gerard Roll yeah i think they're all just as good if I'm honest
@@multiversal2023 … No arguments there but I notice that with so many movie franchises, the first is usually the best & then they tend to suck more & more as they go along. Case in point… The Fast & the Furious. I thought the first movie was the best of the lot but then, the arrival of 2 “certain gentlemen” in the series SAVED it… The Rock & Jason Statham. Their on-screen chemistry was certainly electric & I loved watching them together, especially when they’d hurl insults at each other & threaten to beat the ever-loving crap out of one another in hilarious fashion. I wouldn’t have tuned into the franchise again if they hadn’t showed up 🫵😁👍
@@gerardroll6468 I can't stand those films, horrendously bad
Part two? Go for it. Austin Powers is a great movie series because parts two and three are pretty much just as good as one, so definitely have a blast with it all.
bj's reaction when he realizes it's a guy is too funny 5:10 "that aint no woman.. it's a man, baby"
I’ve seen this movie countless times growing up, rewatching with you 2 was hilarious. Please do the other 2, they’re just as funny
I'm a big James Bond fan and I didn't like this movie when it first came out but it definitely grew on me and became one of my favorite comedies. Great reaction yall
The thick chest hair was a humorous nod to the original James Bond, Sean Connery.
The name "Alotta Fagina" was another James Bond reference: In the Bond movie "Goldfinger" the name of the main female character was "Pussy Galore"
Big hairy chest but had to wear a hairpiece 😅
In my opinion, Pt2 and Pt3 get better and better! Unusual to see a movie franchise where the sequels get progressively better! Man, I wish Mike Myers would've made a Pt4!
Great choice! It's nice to see the recently passed Burt Bacharach (RIP) A little bit of macabre trivia. The villain who threw his shoe, reminiscent of Odd Job from James Bond's Goldfinger movie, was played by Joe Son who is currently serving 34 years to life for a torture/murder. AND.. you did kmow Michael Meyers was both Austin Powers AND Dr. Evil. The third installment has Beyonce in the cast.
Love your reaction to this movie ❤ the second Austin Powers is a must! At least as funny as this, maybe funnier. The third one was a bit of a letdown As I remember, but it’s been a long time. Another comedy you should watch is “Clue” 😁
Dr. Evil is actually based on one of the James Bond Villains (Ernst Stavlo Blofeld - I think that's his name). Mike Myers used to be on "Saturday Night Live" and his boss there was Lorne Michaels (who had a certain way of speaking and funny mannerisms), so Mike Myers combined the Bond villain's look and over the top killing methods and his old boss' speech patterns, wit and peculiar ways to create "Dr. Evil".
The pinkie finger in the mouth was one of Michaels' quirks.
I remember there was some sort of SNL special on the 25th(?) anniversary where there was a skit that brought it up. Mike Myers' explanation why Dr. Evil was not based on Lorne Michaels was that even though he had "Evil" in his name, Dr. Evil was actually a likeable character with heart and pathos.
Every time I watch this movie now, I wonder what in the world my dad was thinking taking me to see this in the theaters when I was 10! Absolutely hilarious, though, and definitely a series that was referenced then until now.
Groovy baby! Yeah!
Asia cracking up throughout the reaction makes this video even funnier. 😂
Watching movies with you guys is so fun. BJ’s crazy 😂😎
Ahh the memories 😂 The joy on your guys face’s said it all what a perfect reaction. I’ll be 41 this year so I’ve watched these dozens of times, so much so it makes it hard to re-visit them, however, this was an awesome way to take that trip. Thanks so much, made my day.
🇳🇿🏆🇺🇸
Yours is my favorite reaction channel! Even though BJ was 'intrigued' by some of the female scenes, he was always leaning into you. Watch the next one with Mini Me and more of Dr. Evil's son. Love you two! 🍿😇🤠
Nice work, y'all! This movie was such a riot... glad you guys laughed your way through it!
Austin was so childish on that spinning bed "oh I fell over.. oh I fell over again." 😂😂😂😂😂😂
If you haven’t seen the old Bond movies, a lot of these gags just probably look stupid. Like random task throwing a shoe instead of Odd-Job’s razor hat.
Love the Austin Powers series!!
Hope you watch the whole trilogy! They’re all really good!! 🥰
Love, from Michigan ❤️✌🏻
You know it's a great movie when Asia says "I jus can't" numerous times throughout
The Austin Powers movies are so much fun and they pack in as many double entendres as possible, it's great to see y'all laughing and being silly. I think you'd love watching the others in the series.
Dr. Evil's pinky to the mouth I think is intended to be his "I'm being evil and coy, muh-ha-ha" signature bad guy move
I forgot how funny this movie is. I was cracking up during the urinal scene in the beginning! You guys will love the other 2 films!
The people request a Reelin' with Asia & B.J. supercut of Asia saying "You are lying," B.J. exclaiming "Golly!" and all dance sequences.
Went to the movies to watch this as kids, it was so funny that everyone was laughing the whole time, you couldn't hear a damn thing xD
I'm so glad reactors are watching these films. They shaped so much of my sense of humor
“Who does Number 2 work for?!” 😂
And Rest in Peace Mr Burt Bacharach ❤whom recently passed
A one of a kind classic.Watching part 2 and part 3 are definitely worth it! Austin powers was an international spy working for British Intelligence he's a parody of James Bond(always in high profile circles) so he attracted women who were attracted to money and power, definitely not looks in his case😊.
Wayne's World is a must! Another Mike Myers movie. Dana Garvey, both were SNL Vets. Taken from a skit they did together on that show. It was huge.
Can’t wait for the sequels! They’re just as hilarious too! 🎥 🍿
Hey ya'll, Big Boy began as Bob's Pantry in 1936 by Bob Wian in Glendale, California. The restaurants became known as "Bob's", "Bob's Drive-Ins", "Bob's, Home of the Big Boy Hamburger", and (commonly as) Bob's Big Boy. It became a local chain under that name and nationally under the Big Boy name, franchised by Robert C. Wian Enterprises. In 1947, the first Shoney's drive-in restaurant was opened in Charleston, West Virginia. Five years later, the name was changed to Big Boy Restaurants - only to be renamed three years later to what is now known as Shoney's.
And Big Boy still exists in California as Bob's Big Boy, in Cincinnati as Frisch's Big Boy, a couple locations in Thailand, and a couple hundred in Japan.
Yes, you have to watch the early James Bond with Sean Connery to understand all the inside jokes. The parody is so well done.
I don't remember seeing Asia laugh this much
The Chinese henchman was named Random Task, a reference to a similar henchman in the old Bond films named Oddjob. These movies were great. I had the first and second movies on VHS and WORE. THEM. OUT. It was a favorite raunchy comedy in my household when I was a kid.
This was an awesome reaction. Dr. Evil was based on Mike Meyers’ old boss Lorne Michaels from SNL, who would always be picking something out of his teeth with his pinky up like that. If you watch some interviews with Lorne you’ll hear he sounds exactly like him too.
" the weasel woulda went Pop!!" Dude. You crack me up! You two are great! Thanks for making me laugh!
When this came out it was the first time anyone had seen anything like it since the 1960s Matt Helm and Flint movies which are also James Bond parodies. Amazing, and the 60s music and fashion vibes just made it better.
The Austin powers trilogy is so awesome and funny hard to pick a favorite
such a great movie. i personally think this series is the main reason the James Bond movies went from silly gimmicky spy movies to the more serious action packed movies we have now.
I come for Asia’s reaction but I stay for BJ’s commentary lmao 😂
Y'all know you gotta watch Demolition Man now, right?
The Spinx cat is surprizingly very soft to the touch. I also was like BJ, and was a little freaked out by the breed being used to fuzzy kitties too, but after I got to touch one and interact with it, they are adorable.
I forgot how funny this movie was. The guard that got ran over had me cracking up.
Excited for this one - Myers at his best - you absolutely need to watch part 2 and 3!
I saw this in theaters in high school with my friends and so many ongoing references to this movie continued for YEARS! I am crying from laughter. Thanks for the memories! YEAH BABY!
Mustafa the henchman is Will Ferrell in case you didn’t recognize him 🤣
I watched this when it came when I was in 6th grade and I could do a really good impression so there ended up being an Austin Powers character in a student written play in 6th grade 😂😂😂 ppl loved it
Get ready to laugh right from the start of the opening credits!! I loved this film when it came out and am looking forward to watching this with you guys later.
I hope Asia and BJ do the sequel as well. It's sort of like a version of Back to the Future with the Austin Powers gang, lol.
3rd one is beyonce too
You guys wil ABSOLUTELY LOVE this movie and be laughing the whole way. I ssw this in theaters and during the ," Who does #2 work for!!??", scene, I was laughing so hard that it hurt, lol. And The Spy Who Shagged Me,the sequel, is even funnier. Fun Fact: this movie wasn't a hit at first ,but word of mouth took over and when it hit on VHS( Im old) , it became a huge hit and spawned 2 sequels
I saw this multiple times in the cinema back in 1997, I was 18 at the time I'm 44 now!
The other ones are hilarious as well. He plays Dr evil also. And plays other villains in the sequels. Great reaction❤❤❤ Beyoncé is in the one called goldmember and she kills the role!
"I want my baby back, baby back, ribs!"; "Get in my belly!"
It's been 26 years and my aunt still does the Dr. Evil pinky every single time I see her.
The guy playing the piano on the bus in the night on the town scene is Burt Bacharach and passed away a little over a month ago. RIP
Mike Myers is a comedy genius! 😂😁😂
Austin Powers is a great James Bond comedy-parody movie
Hope your guys react to two others AP movies 🙏🏼
This movie is hilarious! When BJ said "Mustafa gone", I lost it! I had an uncle named Mustafa, lol! You have to see the second one with Beyonce in it. Thanks for the reaction, BJ and Asia, I love your channels. Btw, I agree with Asia, the hairless Sphinx cat is adorable, but reminds me of a raw chicken when it curls up and goes to sleep! LOL!
Beyonce is in the third one, not the second. All these movies are great though and I can’t wait until they react to those!
37:25 - Austin Powers is a comedic parody of James Bond, who everyone knows, is charming and sexually charismatic with the ladies, in addition to being a spy. The women chasing him is symbolic of how 007 often easily attracts, meets, and quickly sleeps with women (both ally and adversary) in the Bond movies.
The whole trilogy is gold, but the last two are my favorites🙂Even if it humour became repetetive.
Definitely watch the other two films in the series. As others have said in the comments these films are spoofing the James Bond films and the characters and outrageous names in those films like Pussy Galore and Oddjob in Goldfinger (1964) who are renamed Alotta Fagina & Random Task in this film. And yes, Asia's first thought about the name Alotta Fagina was right to be in the gutter because that's exactly what's meant by the name in this film and the original film.
This movie was hilarious, your reactions were awesome.
Unfortunately without knowing the Bond movies half of the inside jokes you won't understand. It's a little bit more funny if you know the James Bond movies. But still some hilarious comedies for sure.
Wow that's crazy after the countless times I've watched this movie I never realized the card dealer at the casino is the nazi soup kitchen guy from Seinfeld 😆😆😆😆
So glad you guys are checking these out and enjoying them. The series is definitely worth continuing. In fact, my favorite one of the series is the third.
Yes! Excited for this one. The trilogy is a must. Love watching movies and breaking bad with you guys. Keep it up!
Austin Powers is a parody of James Bond. James was known as a lady's man and Austin took that way over the top. Also, in England, the word "shag" means to have intercourse.
This is a shagalucious movie!! I hope you two enjoy it!
Dunno if u noticed, but both Austin Powers and Dr Evil are played by the same actor, Mike Myers 🙂
When Dr Evil put his little finger against his under lip it was when he figured he was doing something very evil that no one else had ever thought of before like a child 😂
Two genuine people is the difference on this channel !!
“How DARE you break wind before me!”
“Sorry, baby. I didn’t know it was your turn.” 🤓
To each their own, I suppose, but I am pro-hairless-kitty.
Enthusiastically.
You guys do realize that Mike Myers’s is Dr Evil and Austin powers right ? He plays a lot of the villains on the rest of the series
I agree with BJ about the cat. Lol 😂 loved this reaction. 🧡🥰
This is a parody of James Bond, so it probably would have been a good idea to watch a Bond movie first so you get some of the references.
