I think this is possibly the funniest of the Austin Powers franchise with all the cameos providing the fondant for the cake.
I also loved it for the final song "What The World Needs Now Is Love". Written and performed in his last time on screen by one of the all time great composers of our age. With more than 500 songs to his credit, the sensational, Burt Bacharach. He also composed the song "Alfie (What's It All About, Alfie?)" performed by Susanna Hoffs (of the Bangles) as "Alfie (What's It All About, Austin?)".
The dr. evil first prison scene was from silence of the lamb's Hannibal lector
When BJ opened with "y'all know what time it is," I expected him to check his watch and tell us. Now we'll never know what time it was.😞

Usually when they do flashbacks of characters with different younger actors, they're usually kinda bad. But the ones they casted for the flashback of Austin Powers, Dr Evil, and Number 2 were on point in their acting. They were perfect. Lol

This movie has the best puns and innuendos in the entire trilogy. My favorite comes toward the end:

Also, I love the name given to Beyoncé's character. Foxxy Cleopatra is just alluring and badass at the same time.

So this is my absolute favorite of the Austin Powers films. Lots of times comedies like this don't work that well with a sequel, they actually improved with each entry. There's also a level of nostalgia as this has so much early-2000s flavor.
This is, and always will be one of the funniest trilogies ever made. And it is a Comedy. There are a lot of great trilogies, but very few are Comedy. And the Stars they had appear in this one. Amazing. GREAT Post, Asian & BJ.

A complete parody of Hollywood and the film industry. Loved it at the movies when I saw it on release week and still love it today. Goldmember is most definitely my favourite of the three films in the series. Thanks for sharing ❤
Just now remembering my mom took me to see this in the theater and when Mini Me flew out the shoot into the wall, I laughed so uncontrollably my mom had to tell me to be quiet lol

Micheal Caine had a spy TV show in the 60s where he played a character named Matt Helm. Austin Powers' look is partially based on Matt Helm, especially his thick rimmed glasses.

That's not correct. Anthony Franciosa played Matt Helm in the tv series, and Dean Martin played Matt Helm in the movie versions. I think you are getting him mixed up with the 60s spy films Michael Caine made in which he played the character of Harry Palmer in films such as The Ipcress File.

I was a huge James Bond fan growing up, then Austin Powers International Man of Mystery came out my senior year of high school, and I fell in love with it also. Austin Powers became some of my most used quotes when I was in my late-teens/early-20's. The trilogy is such a great parody and simultaneously a tribute to the Bond franchise!
Yay, I was hoping yall would continue this franchise! I remember seeing this in middle school, my dad drove us outta the city to the drive in theatre. Tonight I'll be watching all yalls reactions back to back 😸

Nice reaction Asia and BJ lol. The best intro and if everyone wanted to be involved for their own movie, I'm definitely seeing it. Michael Caine played Alfred in the Christian Bale Batman films. Mike is quite hilarious at all the characters he plays. I do suggest you watch Goldfinger (1964) to understand the references in this film. It's a spoof of James Bond films. Start with all of them starring Sean Connery. Yeah baby yeah! That's so randy. Number Three is played by Fred Savage from the show The Wonder Years, the films The Princess Bride, Little Monsters, The Wizard, Vice Versa, The Boy Who Could Fly, voiced Kyle H. in two episodes of Family Guy, voiced three characters in American Dad, appeared in Deadpool 2, Welcome To Mooseport, Super Troopers 2, etc. John Travolta as Goldmember at the end was great.

One of the best comedies ever, I will never stop quoting these films. For the new characters, Beyonce was so good in it, Michael Caine too even tho neither were super known for comedy acting!

Wayne's World and So I Married An Axe Murder are other Mike Myers movie to watch. The Mole was played by Fred Savage. He was also the little boy in The Princess Bride that was home sick in bed.
The first time I saw this movie, it felt like it didn't measure up to the first two. However, the more I've seen this movie, the better it gets. Now, I feel like it's by far the best of the series!

I think this was her first major role but she was in Carmen the Hiphopera that came on MTV 😂…. I swear me and my cousin used to be in tears laughing at that movie. It’s not meant to be funny but we were kids watching it. I love Goldmember too. I think it’s the first movie I went to see in theaters without my parents… either this or You Got Served… idk which one came out first.
