Nah, its annoying. I hate people that do that shit. Nothing ruins a first time watch like someone saying "this is my favorite scene" and quoting lines before they even happen.
Please for the love of all that is shagadelic, don't stop with this one. React to the entire trilogy. This is undoubtedly one of the funniest trio of movies to have ever graced the big screen. Goldmember is definitely the best film out of all three. "I love GOOOOOOOOOOOOOLDDD!"
The reason we dont see Dr. Evil is because in the Bond movies, Blofeld who Dr. Evil is a spoof of was hidden the same way in the beginning. The chest hair is a spoof on Sean Connery.
" ...and a factory in Chicago that makes miniature models of factories. " I don't know why this line still always cracks me up, maybe it's the way he delivers the line.
Fun fact: the therapist is played by Carrie Fisher, AKA Princes Leia. She was a script doctor for years and worked on this movie. Rumors is she is the reason why that therapy scene is even in the movie.
*The opening where girls are chasing Austin is a parody of The Beatles in A Hard Day’s Night. Mike Myers’ parents are from Liverpool, where the Beatles are from.* 🇬🇧
It's funny seeing Holden quote movies and Jen being like "You're gonna need to cut that out" and then seeing Jen quote this movie as it's happening hahaha The first two Austin Powers movies are ironic! One of my all time favorite movies ever!
Daniel Craig said in interviews early in his stint as Bond that Austin Powers was the reason the 2000s Bond films were much more serious in their tone and dropped a lot of the tropes that were staples in earlier Bond films
This movie definitely blew up when it came to VHS. I remember getting it as a gift and none of my friends had it and we couldn't see this in theaters, so everyone made sure I brought it with me for sleepovers so they could see it. Eventually everyone had the movie, but I don't think parents realized what it was until after everyone already saw it. And I love this one for nostalgia, but I honestly think the next movie is the best of the trilogy. I hope you react to them all because I like how they're all a bit different.
What didn't make it into this RUclips edit was the Asian henchman's name: Random Task. It was a spoof of the henchman in Goldfinger, whose name there was Oddjob. Also, the theme that plays when you first see Powers dancing in the London streets is called "Soul Bossa Nova". In the 70s here in Toronto, there was a very popular local game show whose name eludes me now that used this song as its theme. I've never heard Myers talk about it, but I'm sure he must have watched the show too and remembered this when he needed music for the film.
I was actually born just a year before Natalie in 1995, and I was definitely shown these movies by my mom and uncle way before I probably should've seen them lol. I saw the first two movies right around the time the third one came out. I obviously didn't get the adult jokes until later on, but I still found them funny.
It's not just a Bond spoof . Cashing in on the franchise in the 60s - Our Man Flint movies starring James Coburn and The Silencers with Dean Martin as Matt Helm.
In the first few appearances in classic Bond films, Blofeld's face was also partially concealed . The Austin Powers trilogy has tremendous replay power.
I really hope you guys do Goldmember. I watch that one in theater when it came out and I literally almost fell out of my seat laughing so hard at the shadow scene.

James Bond meets Monty Python. The script is literally a quote fest. Absolutely hysterical, overtly ridiculous and subtly sensitive, it's the best. Something I’ve noticed with a lot of people watching this film for the first time is that no one has noticed Mike Myers is also Dr. Evil. At least until the credits.

Hey Jen just so you know the Steam roller and sea bass scene had more to them. There were scenes where they show their family's and their lives for example the guy who had his head eaten was actually going to get married the scene after his death shows that his friends were throwing him a bucks party. As for the guy who was flattened they showed that he was a married man with a wife and step son
Great movie. This movoe is a parody of the good old James Bond movies before Daniel Craig Bond movies. The group therapy scene is one of the funniest scenes I have seen in any movie. You should also see Mike Mayer's in his Wayne's World movies.1997 is an older movie ?
I had heard that Mike Myers claimed that he modeled Dr. Evil after Lorne Michaels. But Dana Carvey said that he was actually doing Dana's impression of Michaels instead.

I was wondering why so many reactors were leaving out those gags, but I just discovered that there's an American version and an international one. That's why. They even removed Christian Slater's cameo from themovie! 🤣
Holden and Jen, you have got to react to Baby Driver which is my favorite movie of all time. Baby Driver makes a lot of references to other movies. Baby Driver makes a movie reference to Austin Powers and it's hilarious.
I love whenever Natalie comes to the shoot. ❤ i just saw mike myers in so i married an axe murderer. And ive been wanting to see austin powers again since childhood, maybe now i have a excuse to
After watching the Austin Powers films, you both should watch the James Bond films, all the classics from Dr No from 1962, to the latest one No Time To Die from 2020/2021
It's great the lovely ladies have seen this comedy classic, I highly recommend it's hilarious sequel Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me (1999) - it's better and funnier and the whole gang is back in even more outrageous shenanigans. Please react to that next or very soon.
I'm one of those harsh critics when it comes to comedies, too, but for some reason, the Austin Powers movies, other really silly stuff like the Naked Gun movies, Space Balls or Hot Shots still crack me up. I loved Austin Powes back in the 90's, saw the Spy Who Shagged Me in theaters back when in summer of 99 I was such a huge fan after watching the original a ton. Maybe it's all pure nostalgia, which is funny since there's other stuff from back then that I used to adore watching that had either become dated, unfunny, uninteresting, or I just outgrew. But Austin Powers still manages to get a few laughs out of me.
Natalie, that is hilarious that you don't know what to do with your arms. This reminds me of the movie This Is Spinal Tap in which Rob Reiner's character, Marty Di Bergi, also doesn't know what to do with his arms & w/out giving much away, you two should do a reaction to this film. You'll certainly relate to Di Bergi about not knowing what to with your arms. "This Is Spinal Tap" is considered a cult-classic & one of the best comedies ever made. It is a rockumentary (or mockumentary) primarily improvised & was ahead of it's time when it was released in 1984. The cast did such a wonderful job that many believed the film to be real. How much of it was actually improvised? "All of it. The entire film was improvised. The only speech that’s not improvised is Patrick Macnee - at one point, he says, “Tap into America,” when they’re launching the tour. He was not an improvisational actor, and he asked us if we could write a little speech for him. Everything else was improvised." "Among the funniest and most quotable films ever made... It launched the careers of the central trio. Shearer became a mainstay of The Simpsons, McKean most recently turned up in Better Call Saul, and Guest went on to make the mock doc his own by directing and starring in the likes of Waiting for Guffman (1996), Best in Show (2000) and A Mighty Wind (2003). Reiner himself became a master of first-class Hollywood cinema across the genres. The New York native followed This Is Spinal Tap with hits such as Stand by Me (1986), When Harry Met Sally (1989), Misery (1990) and A Few Good Men (1992)."

Although most of this series references Bond, the part with Mimi Rogers was a take from the old tv show, The Avengers. The female agent always wore a black outfit.

this was MASSIVE when it came out
Will Ferrell first movie was actually Criminal Hearts
Notice it's the same actor that played odd-job on 007 gold finger. Awesome cameo and the alias random task
It’s not. The guy who played Oddjob died in 1982. The guy who played Random Task wasn’t even born when Goldfinger came out.
@@dnish6673 He's also a convicted felon now
I hope you guys react to the third movie of Austin Powers! I really like it.
