Update: after resetting TV, lower backlight brightness to 50% in tv menu then do firmware update via internet or USB drive to prevent future errors. if error happens again and again you must replace LED backlight strips, see that fix here- ruclips.net/video/YgaL6X6eSaU/видео.html

Hi. Thank you for your informative videos. I also have a screen problem with a 32inch Sharp LCD TV and was hoping that you would be able to point me in the right direction to find the solution. Every time we turn the TV on the image goes out after about a second, but sound remains. There is a bit of flicker before the screen turns black. To get the screen to stay on we have to repeatedly switch it to standby mode and back on again. Sometimes it takes three attempts and other times up to ten. Do you perhaps have an idea where the problem could be? Thanking you in advance, Klaus Oellrich

My TV quit right during the Super Bowl. I immediately went to You Tube to find a solution as there was no way I could get a tech to come out. This worked for me. I couldn't believe it! I have never fixed anything electronic in my life. Thank you so much for posting such clear instructions. My husband is impressed.

I recently switched cable carriers: from Direct TV back to U-verse (which was not without significant heartburn, it took 3 techs to complete the switch). Suddenly the picture on my 52" Sharp plasma TV began flickering and went out! The U-verse tech said my TV has gone bad. I was beside myself and refused to believe it. So, I googled the problem and watched the RUclips video on how to reset the TV. IT WORKED PERFECTLY!!!! I am again watching my beautiful TV with a crystal clear picture!!! THANKS SO MUCH Tampatec. I will always search for your advice before the repairman!!!

I had to do this three times but on the third attempt it worked perfectly. Not sure why it did not work the first couple of times and i am sure I followed the directions to the detail but when I got to the green screen and shut it off, I then unplugged and replugged and the arrow light flashed the first two times. Third time a charm. Thanks for the tip, you saved me a lot of money.

Hi , I own a TV repair company, Affordable Mobile TV Repair in Virginia Beach Va. The reason that I responding to your post is that you are telling half of the story. These sets accumulate lamp error codes, so just zeroing them out of the register and resetting the set will NOT permanently fix the set. It's a temporary fix at best. We have repaired approx 250 of these sets over the last 3 years and most of the time, you have to replace the led strips themselves to ensure a permanent fix for this problem. If you do not, the tv will show the same blink code again after the register accumulates more than 6 lamp error hits! Thanks

    • @TampaTec
      @TampaTec  7 лет назад +5

Wayne Mitnick thanks, for the tips, I did a few LED strips before but thought this error was triggered by a software glitch because tv came on and stayed on. I thought maybe there could be a firmware update to patch it. Awesome you're helping the community, if you start a RUclips channel I'll sub. I respect your professional advice. i added that note in the video description, Thanks again

First of all, thank you for your videos. They’re easy to follow and I appreciate your time. I tried all of you fix options, but none have worked. I have had this 55” Sharp TV model LC55P8000U for LESS THAN 8 months and it already stopped working. When I try to turn it on with the remote the red power light stays on but nothing happens. If I press power again, it blinks 5 times and then turns off. To make things even more confusing, sometimes when I press the power button from the remote there is a 3-4 second delay and then the red light blinks 5 times. And AGAIN, sometimes it’ll blink 10 times. I’m so confused. I keep reading about trying the reset where you hold down the volume and input buttons, but my tv DOESN’T HAVE BUTTONS!! It only has one joystick thing that has engraved arrows for up, down, left, right, and the center button says ‘ok’. I tried that process with my remote buttons... still nothing. Any chance you can help?

** Unfortunately this fix did not work for me. I called a tech out for $59 and the fix was to hold the Volume +, Volume -, and Power button at the same time and then plug the TV back in and wait for the solid light to come on. This will work until there is a power outage or the TV is unplugged, then the slow followed by the quick blinking light will go on again. Hope this will help some folks out that couldn't make Tampa Tec's original fix work. **

Channel up and down or volume up and down is sometime used to navigation in settings, and input or source button sometimes used for select. Some TVs have a short or flush joystick near it sensor on the TV back or bezel, and if u push in it may select or turn TV on off.

I have a 40", pretty sure it's a standard LCD predating LED from 2011. This got the TV on, but it does appear to have a legitimate backlight issue as it constantly flickers in brightness. The first thought is a backlight inverter board, though I've seen all kinds of issues caused by the main power supply itself. Do you happen to have any advice on testing for faults in the inverter board?

I have a Sharp Aquos LC-60LE831U. All HDMI inputs fail but I can still watch DVD movies and Netflix using an ethernet cable. I replaced the main board and got the same long/short blinking sequence but I am having trouble powering up after watching your video for the 70" TV. Is there something different I have to do for the 60" model? Thanks

I have a Sharp LC-60LE835U doing the short flash long flash thing, but it does not respond to the reset/restart sequence described here. This model has "soft" buttons on the face of the TV. Does this make a difference? Do I need to so something else?

Have you ever troubleshot a sharp tv model LC-40LE810UN that does not turn on. The standby light doesn't come on either, it acts like it has no power and the outlet it is plugged into is good. I have a multimeter, I just want to know how to troubleshot the power supply to make sure that is the problem or if there is any other tips you might have.

I have the same problem. I can't find my particular TV but I do have a sharp LC-37SH20U. The buttons are top, and the shelf above blocks access. Would the steps be the same as yours?

Thank you very much for the great video. It worked on my LC70LX732H fit the first time. However, after the factory reset, it did not come up and the light kept blinking. Then I tried to repeat the step - “plugging in the power while pressing Vol Down and Input”... then screen does not turn on again! Anything else I can try?

I have a 60” SHARP AQUOS Model# LC-60E77UN that started having this power blinking light issue. I followed your video but the TV still doesn’t turn on and the light keeps blinking. The TV is 11 years old. What is your recommendation? Is it worth fixing?

Is there anything you can do for one vertical line going down it's yellow. The bottom kind of fluctuates. The last three or four inches from the bottom.

Hello I have a 90” sharp and it is doing the same thing but it does not bring up the serial number on the screen like that and the Chanel down and volume down still does not work. Would this be the LED strips? I already replaced the main board.

I have a LG 6550 tv that was bought last year. Last week the lower 3rd of the screen begin blinking greyish lines. I unplugged the tv and plugged it back in. I also unplugged the cable box to the tv but it even did the grey lines blinking/flashing with the items disconnected. The only thing that has ever been connected to the tv has been the cable box.
Do you propose the next step is going in and reset to original settings? Or is it an internal issue?

I have an issue with my Sharp Aquos LC-52LE810UN. The front panel volume buttons trigger on their own, raising and lowering the volume. I determined this by disabling the front panel buttons, but that just results in a popup in the center saying "the operation is not allowed". Is there a way through the service menu or otherwise I can physically disable the front panel buttons? Thanks.

2 of my hdmi ports quit working on my Sharp Aquos LC-70LE733U. Do you know what’s wrong and how to fix them.
