I wish I had seen this about a week ago. I just got tired of messing with my Sharp and it had the same fault and symptoms. I had replaced the backlights because I had the one long one short fault code to begin with and it worked for a bit then went into the fault mode like yours. I also had a quarter of the screen stop displaying right before it happened. I couldn't find no info and got tired of troubleshooting it and ended up just breaking it down and giving up. Thank you for the info though because now i can locate where i put my power supply board and repair it and maybe sell it to recoup some of my loss. I know they want an arm and a leg for the boards in these tv. Good find bro!!
Mr. Ray speaks the truth. Seems to be a common problem on this model power supply board. Same fix for a a 70" LC-70LE847U Sharp Aquos. In my case, the power LED was 2 slow and 5 fast which indicates display (panel) fault. Normally fatal but having nothing to lose I checked the regulator anyway. 8.4 volts on pin 2. I want to say I got the replacement KA378R12 off eBay but not sure, anyway they were 2 for around 10 bucks shipped. It's a readily-available part; look it up on Google. Make sure to remove the old thermal paste on the heat sink and apply new. Don't overdo it, a light even coat on the back of the part is fine. The TV's been running sweet as a first kiss for a year or so now. (I got it free off off the local Craigslist) 10 bucks well-spent!
Excellent I have a similar tv with the same symptoms and started to doubt in my theory and internet start to convinced me that was TCon board, but thank your video now I know i'm not crazy
I will send you one litre of vodka if its Voltage Regulator on my TV mobo, almost same model, exactly same led flashing sequence. Just got a TV for free. Taking in my hand screwdriver to check tommorow. BR from Poland.
Mine is aqous LC-50LE570X it has red standby and blue (switch on) but still no display no backlight no sound I tried to check the output voltage on standby it starts on 9v slowly going zero...do u have some advice for my tv?
Hi Ray, where did you find the a KIA378R12PI ( 12V Regulator with turn on control ) I have ordered two sets of regulators these are not the turn on control regulator? Can you please provide the manufacturer where you purchased your regulators? Thanks a million!
I have the same model... I've been having power freezes (power light on, black screen, no response to remote) for years...backlight has never functioned...but no flashing or error code... I have to unplug it, wait 10-15 minutes, then plug it back in... Assuming that It needs that time to disapate the charge... Do you think it's the same regulator causing it??? Thanks for posting this... :)
Hi I have Sharp Aquos LC70LE650U, I already change the power board what you did but still same flashing I get. Do you have any idea what else the problem is?
I have a similar issue with a lc55ub30u i just picked up off Facebook for free ordered all new boards for cheap off ebay I'm praying to jesus that after i replace all the boards it fixes it it's not hard to replace the leds i just don't want to have to resort to that and i truly don't think they're dead as I'm not positive but i think when i was tinkering with it they came on briefly at one point then shut off so I'm pretty sure it's power related
@@rays.2480 im pretty confident it is the power board aswell as the leds plug into that and the power light comes on so I'm hoping the boards fix it if they don't idk whats going on i think it's unlikely that its the lcd itself or backlights but i could be wrong

Hi Ray, thanks for your video. I have the same Sharp model... it's been an excellent TV, until recently. I was wondering if you or your readers have any experience with this model, regarding local digital channel reception (re: antenna)... We don't have cable (for channels), but currently are using internet sucessfully for internet channels like RUclips.... we cannot any longer receive any local digital channels My Sharp will no longer receive any local Digital channels (have done several resets, as per set-up, which has always worked in the past. I'm getting an error message "remove scrambled channels", which we never had this message in past years.... is there a digital tuner chip in the TV that might be defective?, or is this scrambling new? Thanks The antennae, cable & transformer have all been changed,

Hey what’s up man how you doing I had the same problem I got the same TV the only difference is I get sound but it’s a flashing light no picture I want to thank you have a blessed day
Hi Ray, thanks for the video. I realize you may not know the answer to this, but I appreciate that you are taking the time to respond at least to other questions.. I am wondering where that turn on voltage, pin 4 on that regulator is getting its 3 volts from? That seems to be the problem with mine... I have 12v on pin one, but only millivolts on pins 2 and 4, I changed out the regulator thinking it was at fault, but after researching your video a few times I think I’m understanding that pin 4 needs to be getting 3 volts from somewhere in order to “turn on” and send voltage out of pin 2... is this correct? And do you know where it should be getting that voltage from? Thanks again!
Check your other voltages on that board. You should have 5V standby voltage for one on another white connector and others. You could also trace the circuitry back to see where your missing voltage on that pin comes from. I wish these videos would show the schematic, if possible, so we could follow the voltage paths.
i could replace the regulator, but i have no way to test the board afterwards. as i have said in previous post.. I no longer have the tv..it was a customer repair.
Good morning Mr., please I need a measurement if you have a A6069H chip of a tv SHARP between pins 7-8 and 3, I have 5 pieces and between those pins there is zero ohms, I want to be sure of that measurement to return them. Thank you very much.
Hello Sir, my sharp LC-60LE640U just has a blank screen with sound , I can see the screen get brighter when I change channels but still a blank screen, could this be the T Con board?
I have a sharp aquos lc-60le550u and it looks identical to this and doesn't seem to have a backlight even though the panel comes on. do you believe this is the same issue and should I go ahead and purchase the same resistor? I don't have much experience but i can go buy a solder to make it happen
No, I had to order it, I got a few of them, they were cheap. I did my typical testing, found out which voltages were missing, Which happened to be my 12V regulator. Found it, Looked it up online. I was able to use a common regulator for testing purposes. The proper regulator has an on/off control. With the common 12v regulator, the set worked fine. But you could not control the functions of the tv to turn it off. So, when it worked, I then ordered the proper regulator, installed it, and the tv was good as new. An easy job for someone that has electronic experience. Not a job for an amateur.
