Most essential mod imo is definitely a front brake kit upgrade. I had an AP Racing 4 pot kit added to mine and it transformed the car. Stability under hard braking was immense, zero sponginess, no fading, perfect balance for road or trackdays. And they really looked the part
Exactly .Brakes 1st power 2nd. I bought brand new Cayman calipers with zimmermann discs Hel lines Textar pads Not as expensive as AP but stopping power in abundance Looking to changing rears to TRW 951/2 (r32 ones) in red
I think the wheels everyone keeps asking about are "3SDM 0.01 Alloy Wheels" which are out of stock and quite expensive , there is also a cheaper copy made by AVA called the Phoenix.
@@mofuchimumbwa2176 TFSI use a Mass Air Flow Sensor, al the air that comes pass it is calculated. When using a bov or dump valve you will be running rich. The later TSI use a map sensor so using a dump vavle on them is no problem. With that said plenty of guys run dump vavles on fsi and most tuners even have tunes for bovs on fsi.
Hi, i was just wondering, how does a mkV gti compare to a 997.1 in yoir opinion? I have a gti and like it very much, but i think i’m almost at the point when i want to upgrade and a 997.1 is what i can possibly afford. The price difference between the 2 cars is pretty significant. is the porsche really worth it? Don’t get me wrong, i got the porsche bug and i absolutely love them even though i’ve never driven one. I’m just trying to justify if it’s worth paying so much money for a 13 or so year old car. Thanks so much
Hello mate, can I ask where you bought the front skirt in red? Cheers and keep going with your videos I really like how you talk about VW and all the upgrades. Thank you
Putting a forge in... Every single gti owner decides against them.. More less everybody.. Do not use a after market bov... I've a sat nav usb Bluetooth aux port.. All from factory.. O and sd card also..... Mods to add to video... (induction kit) sounds epic. Exhaust,
Driver 81 pity. You should keep it, I can see the prices of these going back up again in a few years. Am in N. Ireland and noticed since I got mine the prices are going up all near 4k now. That Porsche is epic in your drive 2 lol.. Yea I also wanted a bov but all the gti owners kept telling me not to. They sound great still.. I went for a oversized ramair kit 155 quid am sure uve heard of that 1 if your on any of the gti pages
@@hondaloverkjb9312 can you copy and paste the link of the ram air kit you're talkin about I can't find them anywhere!! Ty in advance also is the ram air kit the same thing as the induction kit please put a link up I really really appreciate
Stage one isn't enough torque to worry about that, they can take up to like 450hp with no issues.. I would recommend a dsg tune though, it optimises shifting for the tune and raises the rpm limit
Joel Ripley hi Joel thanks. Yes I’ll be there in the yellow 911 (providing it passes it’s MOT this week) looking forward to it, last years show was great. Do you have a car in the show?

You mentioned things that usually don't get talked about very much except for tuning. I liked it.
Stage 1 not so expensive if you think about it. Gaining 50hp for 550 pounds makes much more sense than 200 pounds for whoosh sound on lift off.
Great video!!! U have to put also the cold air intake and some.other mini mods , maybe the r8 inductions

Love the miro wheels
Never was a huge fan of the mk5 but man you car looked really good. sad to see it leave the channel
Thanks Sam, got a few more GTI vids in the editing stage so they will be finished in the next couple of weeks. Thanks for watching.
Fellside road. Marley hill and suniside is your choice for your last time driving the gti.
DO NOT PUT A DUMP VALVE ON A TFSI
very misleading info you should use a diverter valve either oem or gfb dv+
sol tea explain please

Do you think Diverter valve is better than blow off valve?
Where did you find the rear valance or is ur car the edition 30?
The cat is absolutely stunning
Surprised not to see any mention of changing the springs. Is that not worth it?
Looks great. Love the wheels. I had a MkV back in the day, I wouldn't say it's quick as f***. 250HP nowdays is not much. They are great value though.
I’m trying to buy a mk5 gti now and decent ones are like gold dust
Found an 08 with 160k on the dash. Completely stock. 1 previous owner All the service records. Timing and water pump done at 130k. $3500! Lucky find!
$8k 95k miles
No records 1 owner but had 3inch exhuast all the way back,R32 rear
Intake coilovers and a shotty K04 lol
Best mod? R32.
is it worth buying a GTI mk5 2005 with 200km ?

Boy id love to see this get answered..
Where did you get the lip for it ??

Hi Patricio thanks for watching, i bought the car like this so unfortunately i am not sure where it comes from . Thanks for watching
Patricio Cornejo M. Just pull it off and spray paint it. I took off my grille stripe and painted it yellow. It looks awesome
Mate are you going to buy another GTi? What it’s coming next?
Cheers
What alloys do you have on this?

I was going to go down the induction kit route also and would have if i was keeping the car. Cheers.

Yeah the Ramair kit is quite highly spoken of and price is quite good for the intake sound it will make. Im sure ill be back to GTI at some point.

I’ve just acquired a mint Golf Mk5 1.6 Sport. What a motor.
What’s size rims are those
Great video mate!!!!
Awesome mate. Quick question
I’ve just bought a MkV GTI and am looking at the stage one kit. Have you had any issues with the clutch slipping.
Alex
Alexander Penrose my 07 gti is unitronic stage 2 with the stock clutch with 0 slippage issues
Alex i would recommend just going for stage 2. Also it could be the tune itself.
Stage one isn't enough torque to worry about that, they can take up to like 450hp with no issues.. I would recommend a dsg tune though, it optimises shifting for the tune and raises the rpm limit
George Wilson dsg rune is only for the automatics no?
Great video, you at ESPCC (cumbria international car show) again next weekend?
Joel Ripley hi Joel thanks. Yes I’ll be there in the yellow 911 (providing it passes it’s MOT this week) looking forward to it, last years show was great. Do you have a car in the show?
Driver 81 bringing my mk7 gti but it's not going to be in the show. Look forward to seeing you and the beautiful 911 there!
Joel Ripley cool see you there 🤔
That was meant to be a 😎 not a 🤔
Driver 81 😂😂
Nice video men
Lennard 96 thanks Lennard 👍👍👍
Need this wheels on my mk5 gt
Wheels ?
How can i contact you, i would like to buy mk5 you seem to have good knowledge on these cars
Exhaust? I mean come on. That is the first mod.
Intake too. The sound of cold air intake on this car is just orgasmic.
I sort of disagree. The TSI/FSI engine sounds like a diesel truck when you put an exhaust on it.
Best thing save up a bit more an buy a mk6 way better
Is that Alex from car throttle in disguise
Haha i was thinking the same😂😂
Nah too tall
Bruh ya seats look the same
I couldn't imagine having to shift with my left hand and accelerate with my left foot. I would have to learn how to drive all over again lol
Drew Drew lol you don’t accelerate with your left foot in LHD cars
🤣
what a fuckin idiot
Omg
Not one of those modifications is a “must have”. Any remap will instantly invalidate your insurance.
nice rip off of salomondrin's youtuber logo
Bad engine Tfsi
Thordur Hogna Yes 😢
Cold air intake? cost you about 3 to 400 euro but defenatly worthed.
2.0 litre?
Yea
