Recoleta Has World's Most Beautiful Cemetery & Bookstore !? Floralis Genérica, Buenos Aires [Ep.89]

In This Episode, Sayu Rinpoche visits the neighbourhood of Recoleta - home to some say the world's most beautiful bookstore (El Ateneo Grand Splendid) and cemetery (La Recoleta Cemetery/ Cementerio de la Recoleta). You'll also see Floralis Genérica, a giant flower statue right next the Faculty of Law Building (University of Buenos Aires), a church building that's older than Argentina as a nation (Basílica de Nuestra Señora del Pilar/ Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar), and a rather unusual site - a shanty town dated all the way back from the 1930s!. Throughout this epside, we'll also be talking about what happened to Argentina after the end of its golden age, as well as the rise of Peronism & life of Eva Peron - who inspired Madonna's movie Evita and the song "Don't Cry For Me, Argentina"
