Your content has been invaluable as someone new to the hobby and just learning to paint. Quick, simple techniques and listed paints, it's like I'm painting by numbers (which is amazing for a newbie!). Plus, the paint schemes look pretty slick! Keep up the good work!
Thank you. I rember what it was lik egetting started and the lack of imformation or even just bad information, my goal is to always make sure my content can actually be used and is achievable.
Its difficult to explain how much your videos help me to understand how to paint those figurines. Thank you so much and keep going !!
I'm glad. Thank you. keep practicing and painting :D
I can't even begin to say how helpful your video's have been. You are a very good teacher thank you.
Thank you. I really apreciate you letting me know
I completely forgot about the skeleton on the shield until you came back to it and added the awesome glow. Really guiding people how to get that small detail for going over the edge but still making it incredibly beginner friendly. Keep it up!
Thank you. its the cool extras and little things that make the difference with your miniatures
As someone who's new to 40k, and new to painting, these videos have been incredible, thanks a lot :D
I’m glad I’ve been able to help you with your painting. I love teaching the process and it also helps improve my own skills 😃 it allows me to push myself
Another wonderful video, mate. I love those space marine bikes so a good painting tutorial is always a winner :)
Thank you, yeah the bikes came out great, probably my favourite of the 3 units. they look great with the transfers.
This man does not blink!
Haha don’t worry I blink when your not looking 😉
I am new to the hobby and your videos have been the most helpful so far in regards to working with the 9th Edition Starter set. I look forward to more content in the future!

I've discovered Warhammer40k universe 2 weeks ago at 30yo and I wonder why I did not get into it sooner ! I thought painting was really hard but your videos are simples to understand and make me want to give it a go !
Keep it up ! For the Emperor !
Your getting into it at the right time for you. If you were gonna do it sooner, you would of 🤷🏼♂️ ha I’m glad I’ve helped you get started and I hope you get as much out of it as I have. 10th is around the corner as well. Good luck 💪🏻
Very cool! Gotta try the paint scheme!🎉
Easily the best tutorial videos on the subject.

I did my first marine and necron watching your video and they turned out pretty great and now i went and bought the elite edition and you have videos for all models. Thank you wo much man
Glad my content has helped 😃 good luck with the elite edition. I hope you get a lot of enjoyment from it 💪🏻
Always enjoy watching your content. Copied alot of techniques especially the bases. I've started adding rubble on top now! The bases definitely compliment a finished miniature
Thank you. Its nice to know my content has helped you. I wish I was better at doing bases though. I would like to get better at them. Rubble is a great idea for that extra detail
Great job. Will be alot of help once I start painting my army.
Good luck 💪🏻
Great tutorial! It help me a LOT!
Glad I can help :D
I am planning to buy the combat patrol box specifically to learn to paint with Space Marines. This video is perfect. Great job
I’m you liked the tutorial 😃 the combat patrols are a great way to start an army. Good luck 👌🏻
Love this channel
I love this comment 👌🏻
I bought the starter box just for your tutorial.
Good luck. I hope you get a lot of enjoyment out of it. It’s a big project, just make sure to enjoy the process 💪🏻
Just got this kit for my daughter to start with 🤘🏿
Awsome. I wish you all the good times together 😃 as long as you enjoy the process, that’s all that matters. Doing the best paint jobs and playing the game correctly isn’t as important 💪🏻
Fantastic content! Thanks !
fantastic comment, thank you :)
Great job and thanks 👍
no, thank you for commenting :D
It's a really cool tutorial.
Thank you very much :)
We fight for Macragge!
I'm not a poster boy person but I will watch this allways watch your videos
I really apreciate that and commenting is the best way to help get these videos out to new people :D
Keep it up man
Thank you. I’ll do my best 💪🏻
Really appreciate these videos so much. I never thought the painting would be the part of the hobby I'd enjoy most! I may have missed it, but did you use a wash on the red helmets?
awsome. Pianting is great because it doesn't need someone else. you can do it by yourself and take your time. its very rewarding and you can only get better at it if you intentially put effort into it. you can use a wash like nuln oil if you wanted but I reccomend learning to recess shade. go and watch my terminator tutorial and you'l see the potential of what you can achieve
really cool guide
thank you very much
love your videos hope we can get a raven guard one just like this in the future
so after i have finished with the Necrons and Terrain from this set. I'll do Raven Guard to finsh off painting all the chapters :D so this will be Next month
@@TableTopReadyRUclips the imperium thanks you for your hard work
Your other video painting both the necron and ultramarine is what got me started painting! Quick question though; would you recommend using the Tamiya panel liner for recessing shading?
That’s great to know I’ve helped you get started 😁 personally I wouldn’t use the Tamiya liner. It’s enamel based and would need a gloss coat first to be effective. It’s very strong in pigment as well. It’s great for large models and scale models, not so much for miniature painting. Not this style anyway.
Great video, could you point me to any resources to help me choose which transfers to use on my squad? I’m new to 40K and am keen to get my models finished but not sure what the symbols and chapters relate to and want them to be ‘correct’ for gameplay and lore. Thanks!
Amazing work again Michael, loving the was this is building on previous information.
I’ve got 4 war dogs build and was wondering if you’d paint them all at once step by step, or one at a time?!
Cheers!
thank you. umm you could do a mixture. so you could do all the frames together as they probably just be washes and drybrushes. look at my painting Ork vehicles and how I start those off. you could then just spend your time painting all the panels and details as and when. these parts will be the focus anyway and the more enjoyable part.
@@TableTopReadyRUclips cheer mate, appreciate the suggestions! I’ll let you know how I go!
First also love the videos
Hey Michael, your content is amazing! And is really helping me with my first figures, I did have a few questions regarding painting, I used the Mccrager blue spray paint for my figures and did as the instructions said, however it seems that the paint is a much darker blue than what I see in your videos, and the paint seems to have a rough texture to it, I sprayed from a long distance in very short bursts, how can I fix all that? Thanks
If your having trouble with your spray then I have a tutorial dedicated to it. It’s sounds like the paint is drying before it hits the miniature. Make sure the can is shaken properly and if your dealing with a dry humid environment then I would spray from about 10-6 inches away or an arms length. Just keep moving a little closer if you need to and try spraying with longer bursts. It’s gonna be a case of trial and error. Lots of things can effect the spray. Hope that helps 👍🏻
@@TableTopReadyRUclips absolutely, yeah I live in a very humid area so that could be affecting it, I did shake the can for 2 minutes and sprayed about 12-16 inches away as the instructions said, I just didn’t know if the texture was part of the paint, but I’ll have a look at that tutorial, thanks a lot man!
Are there also any ways I can strip down any excess paint without taking all the paint off? Or is that not possible?
No. You can’t really target a layer.
😊
My sergent has a chest plate for some reason. What color should I paint it? And should I apply any transfers?
The shield is an option I found out too late 🤦🏼♂️ preferably I would have had that on mine as well. Do whatever you think looks cool. Have a look at some examples. You could paint stripes on there, leave it blue and a transfer would definitely look cool on it
I just painted two space marines but it just don’t wanna work out the shoulder pads are just annoying and I just don’t find it fun I also have some tau maybe that I can try these and it will be more fun because I like them more than what are your suggestions?
If you would prefer to paint your Tau then thats what you should do. painting trim is a very frustrating thing to do. remember you can neaten up if you're messy. If you struggle with the detail then sometimes I like to use some reading glasses or magnifiers making it easier to see these more frustrating areas to paint. Don't give up though, everything takes time. it's a process.
What color did you paint the captains shield?
Go check out my tutorial on the command starter set. It goes through what I did in that tutorial.
I am finding the drybrushing on the space marines armour difficult finding that everything seems chalky and catching everything rather than just the edges. Any tips guys?
If your drybrushing I really recommend using a small dry brush. This is going to help reduce you getting areas you don’t want to. As well you really need to remove as much as that paint as you can. This lets you build up the drybrush slowly. Lastly it’s easy to get excited and over do it so take your time, less is more.
Can you please do necions next i just started warhammer and got into necrons but idk how to do their guns and to paint. Also thanks for thr space Marines table top.
Necrons is out on Saturday. it is available to members and patrons right now though :) but not long to wait, don't worry
@@TableTopReadyRUclips okay thank you so much I had some issues with painting them etc since I am new so the video would be a big help. I can't wait to see the types of necions you will have on it.
the necrons I paint will be the ones from the same starter box as these marines. and the scheme is the main scheme yous ee on the box
@@TableTopReadyRUclips thank you that's the type of necions i have. And i am painting their gund black and painting their gun bits green.
If i git this set how easy would it be to make them Blood Angels? These tutorials are fantastic really appreciate them very simple easy to follow.
Pretty easy, I would reckon. Just replace the blues (so Mephiston red instead of McCragge Blue, etc) with reds and gold trim with black or silver. Might look kinda odd with Blood Angel with a shield but I still think it'd look cool.
@@winowmak3r I'd go with silver with the red but keep most everything else the same.
Really easily. you get Mephiston Red in the tool kit for your base colour. you can paint this over a wraithbone undercoat, i'm not sure they do Mehiston Red spray still, they probably do. You also get Blood Angel tranfers in the box. I do have a blood angels tutorial to give you ideas for what kind of colours to use :D
@@TableTopReadyRUclips excellent. I think i may pick this up.
Whenever I'll be able to buy my starting set, this will definitely come in handy. Just got into WH and but sadly every thing is so pricy 😂💔
I know people will attack me but I advise you to do as I have. Buy a set(a battle report set) and get some dice if you don't have any. Other than that, terrain can be made from cardboard and such things and I pirate rules and codexes, while I think it's moraly not right for many people I myself will not shell out the money GW wants for their ovepriced rule books
@@Miki-hk6vy no hate man, yea its costly! But hopefully one day after finishing studies and getting a job, will definitely try and get started. Till then ill try to learn tbe lore, and man its hard AF
@@smburhan6323 yeah it's a great hobby to have when you have a job. I got enough money to buy only bc I spent my entire school break working part time and even then barely clawed my way to a small set. Hope you also one day get it yourself. Just one thing to say, the paiting and model assembly is the best part, I'll be real new editions of Warhammer have bloated the rules too much and it's kinnd of gone dowhill but not the level of trash but annoying enough to point out
@@Miki-hk6vy dont know much, so whats a set(a battle report) ??
Look up this guys starter video he spends about £45 on everything you need to get started and it'll give you a idea if it's for you before buying a £60+ starter set.
Tesseract glow for the Sargents lenes
That’s a great idea 🤔 why didn’t I think of that
@@TableTopReadyRUclips don't worry I'm awful a painter but anyway the thing with the lens is use a white and then just apply it on if u see art for ultramarine sargents they have red helmet with green lens and veterans have white helmets with red lens and lieutenant have a white and red striped helmet but ye that's the ultramarines markings and also the gold is because they are 2nd company I believe green is 3rd
Can someone give me a tip on how to mix highlighlight colours?
Usually Im using 50/50 white and the layer colour below, but I feel like even if I get the highlight lines thin enough it still looks weird.
White isn't always the default colour to go with. If your painting a lot of miniatures, i would reccomend investing in a highlight colour that works rather than mixing. its more consistent and you have a better idea if that colour will work or not as other people may use it for their miniatures
@@TableTopReadyRUclips thanks🫡
Fun fact: swap out maccraig blue for caldor sky, you’ll thank me later 😁
Prequal : How to make Outriders without having a grandcanyon size gap on the front panel...
(Tried so hard yet still failed lol)
this is tough. even on these there was still a smal gap. if you use plastic glue, i try and push the sides together as much as I can to squeeze the glue goo out, when this drys it can be filed back.
Paint my Tau Empire for me lol 😢
I wouldn’t want you to miss out o. The fun and enjoyment of painting your own miniatures 💪🏻 you can do it. I believe
