Well actually Greivous 's constant coughing was due to Windu crushing his lungs with the force which is also why he was severely weakened, but yeah I wish he had a much better representation especially in the 2008 show, Greivous deserves every bit of badassary possible.
Sadly, it seems that the twirling mustache villain trope was Lucas' original idea for Grievous all along. I guess some communication problems happened between him and Tartakovsky and the latter only got the concept of "Grievious is a cyborg who hates Jedi and trained to kill them". Thus, with only that to work with, Tartakovsky made Grievous the badass we see in the 2003 series. technically it still fits even with the newer clone wars show. The new show takes place almost entirely between episode 2 and 3 part 2 of the tarkovsky series
It's an art of Tartakovsky to mix stiff animations AND fluid ones in a way only he could he really come up with. And yes, this animator managed to get that spirit really well, even if he claims to still be an amateur. Amazing work, overall! 👍
“You fool, I’ve been trained in your Jedi arts by count dooku” “How interesting, I trained the man who killed him...” The film novelization makes the best Star Wars movie even all the better. If you haven’t read it, I’m not sure why. It’s prob my favorite Star Wars novel. (Well I guess that doesn’t count cuz it’s a novelization of the film and Lucas basically wrote it in a sense, but you get what I mean, my fav actual EU novel is prob like Labyrinth of Evil or some other badass Luceno novel) it goes into much more detail on all the important scenes. Especially the final fight between Anakin & Dooku. It’s awesome to see how the count literally starts to become scared of how strong he’d gotten and began to see how hard he’d been played and manipulated over the years.
I absolutely agree. The Dark Lord Trilogy as a whole kicks major tail. My favorite Luceno novel though, and novel overall, is Darth Plagueis. What a fantastic work of literary art.

Also have to take in the face that obi wan is the master of form 3 he as a defense that even some of the best Jedi have a hard time getting past in fact that's the reason he was the one sent to fight grievous he has such good defense are focus that he counters grievous's unpredictability and four sword fighting style and the fact he doesn't have any three of these elements against obi wan causes alot of problems and make it hard for him to actually get a win on the master of form 3.
This is a thing of beauty. 2003 clone wars is one of my favorite pieces of Star Wars content. This fills me with joy. How exactly did you do this? I’ve wanted to do something like this but I don’t know how.
I just took the audio from the original scene and animated it in adobe animate, trying to be as close to imitate 2003 artstyle as I could. Sounds simple, but in reality it was hard, even tho I’ve had a lot of fun making this :D Edit: sorry for the late answer btw
This actually looks like the early stages of the animation in the show like an unreleased unpolished version of an episode. That's super impressive for what I can assume is a single person try to recreate the art style created by an entire team.
there are so many things I want to see from star wars in this art style cause of how good it is! some of the stuff from 2007 clone wars , some stuff from the original trilogy, and some stuff from the sequels! it all works so well!
Best series! I truly wish we got so much more of this. Shane it ended so quickly & rub time was short. What I loved was how Tartakovsky could tell a story with no words. I loved the fight scene Anakin & Assajj Ventress had in the rain. That's one of my all time favourites!!
I so needed this. Thanks so much! I love this style of the clone wars. Imagine what you could do if you made the Clones Wars series in this style, just to see what it would look like. Both versions are good of course. Still I wish they could have added Captain Fordo, The Muunilinst 10, Voolvif Monn and Durg somehow into the Clones Wars Series. I could imagine Captain Fordo and his troopers being lead by Voolvif as his Clone Legion.
Wow, this is a very accurate facsimile of the 2003 art style. If it had had more inbetweens it could have passed as the legit thing. Whoever made this is extremely talented
This is exactly the difference between the prequels and the sequels. 15 years later, stuff like this comes along and everyone loves it. No one will be talking about the sequels in 10 years, even for the sake of memes or whatever
The Ewok films were better than the more recent films. I would stop short of the Christmas Special but even that was more exciting. The last film I just could not get excited about.
I'm a wannabe animator desperately trying to find my feet, and I hope you can forgive me saying, this inspires me more than words can describe. I'll have to come back to give specific compliments later. For now, know that you've inspired me to go forward with my hobby.
@Mastersavagesempai 12x 1. Ik and its so sad bc I like that grevious soooo much better than any other one😭 like he's such a badass. 2. I feel like if they were both their 2003 variants, that fight would be fuckin awesome, i mean Mace pretty much demolished a whole ass clanka army with his own two hands and the force, but on the other hand grievous took down multiple jedi masters, some of which were on the jedi council, with ease. And stormed the chancellors office with only his magna guards, pretty ballsy if you ask me.

*The fans who want the whole movie:* “No, it won’t!”
A part 2 Will do fine.
This is actually very well made. It was much more fluid than i expected and the art was spot on. 11/10 my man!!
What really makes this scene wonderful is how stiff the animation is. I know It sounds sarcastic but this is a genuine compliment
It's an art of Tartakovsky to mix stiff animations AND fluid ones in a way only he could he really come up with. And yes, this animator managed to get that spirit really well, even if he claims to still be an amateur. Amazing work, overall! 👍
@@MrDibara Honestly I couldn't say that better
If Kenobi had fought 2003 Grievous, he would've died.
@@7632ios No he didn't even meet him in the 2003 series and that Grievous would have killed Obi Wan after like 20 seconds if they'd fight each other
@Frank Castle So?
Maybe or barely beat him
Amen
Grievous would surely win in lightsaber battle, but kenobi still could use force, so I'd call it a draw
“A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one”.
0:32 Famous last words “YUHYUHYUHYUHYUHUYUHUYUHUY-“
Pretty good. But Grievous looks so wrong flexing without erecting his spine.
So what you are saying is, you wish you saw Grievous get erect?
Abdega *Yes.*
Sounds weird without 03 voice too
@@Abdega Well, he was shorter than I expected...
More like erecting his COCK
This was simply amazing, seeing the characters do something I love in this style, simply precious.
Genndy would be proud, just like the old days.
“You fool, I’ve been trained in your Jedi arts by count dooku”
“How interesting, I trained the man who killed him...”
The film novelization makes the best Star Wars movie even all the better.
@D'niro Gavin That would be Shatterpoint.
D'niro Gavin no, you’re thinkin of Shatterpoint lol. LOE is the prequel to Ep3, it takes place like in the months leading right into the movie
I absolutely agree. The Dark Lord Trilogy as a whole kicks major tail. My favorite Luceno novel though, and novel overall, is Darth Plagueis. What a fantastic work of literary art.
@@emperornapoleon6204 "Have you ever heard the tale of Plagueis the Wise? It's not a story the Jedi would tell."
Ridley12 oh yes. It is my favorite Tragedy. An ironic tale, indeed.
Obi Wan's face at the end lol
Count dooku? Well he’s dead AF so the bar isn’t set too high
Kenobi never beat Dooku directly, that was all Anakin. In the RoTS novel, Kenobi does tell Grievous “I trained the one that killed Count Dooku”
Napalm Wolf oh shit fam! That’s a massive burn!
Nothing less from the Trolling Master
Outta be canon
0:38 Honest to god, you really nailed the art style on these droids. They look amazing.

Am I the only one that loves the 2003 battle music that plays during Grevious' first on screen fight?
Intimidating af.
The only Problem is that if this was from the 2003 show there would be like 1000000000000 Droids around Kenobi
I am so happy that I live in this age where even if it is done by the fans... we get to see Star Wars
"I was trained in your Jedi arts by Count Dooku"
"My padawan killed Count Dooku."
See if it were the REAL grievous he would have just started attacking obi wan immidetely without a word
Not really. He would have done that if he was the one doing the surprisingly not the other way around.
Then he would have fricked obi wan's booty hole which would have a butterfly effect of obi wan not meeting Luke and Luke doesn't know where to train to be a jedi so now Luke has a frickable booty hole and he would have lost to some clone troopers and died and Vader stayes on the dark side and the empire would win and everyone would die I like the other grievous better
@@good1742 that would most likely not happen
@@aaronjones6299 it honestly would, 2003 grievous literally 1v5'd a bunch of jedi and *won* , obi wan is a good fighter but if 5 jedi couldnt take him on obi wan would not stand much of a chance
@@freddi00 you forget that those five Jedi where tired, afraid, and surprised something dooku taught him to use he even told 2003 grievous that it's best to run of any three where lacking even against a Jedi knight.

Grievous: Fine I'll do it myself!
Thanos: How dare you steal my meme!!!!
I feel bad for obi-wan he has to battle 2003 grievous
This is a thing of beauty. 2003 clone wars is one of my favorite pieces of Star Wars content. This fills me with joy.
How exactly did you do this? I’ve wanted to do something like this but I don’t know how.
I just took the audio from the original scene and animated it in adobe animate, trying to be as close to imitate 2003 artstyle as I could. Sounds simple, but in reality it was hard, even tho I’ve had a lot of fun making this :D
Edit: sorry for the late answer btw
thats ok. And I’m glad you did answer. I appreciate it. I’ve wanted to do like drawn animation for a while just it seems super ambitious.
This is amazing. I watched the 2003 series when I was about a year old. I still love it.😁
watching this scene with a different animation style reminded me of how amazing the star wars movie's sound design was
This actually looks like the early stages of the animation in the show like an unreleased unpolished version of an episode.
Came from Reddit. Absolutely stunning!
Wow, this is a very accurate facsimile of the 2003 art style. If it had had more inbetweens it could have passed as the legit thing. Whoever made this is extremely talented
Now I need the whole prequel trilogy animated in the Tartakovsky style
Same, 10 bucks for any animator that makes the entirety if this fight in 2003 stuke

0:47 my personal replay moment the way he just roasts Obi-Wan. “You fool!”
You are very talented! Great work! ❤️
I have wanted this voice with this art style FOR YEARS YAAAAAAAAAS
This is exactly the difference between the prequels and the sequels. 15 years later, stuff like this comes along and everyone loves it. No one will be talking about the sequels in 10 years, even for the sake of memes or whatever
Bro, sequels sucked so bad, you can't even make memes out of them.
The Ewok films were better than the more recent films. I would stop short of the Christmas Special but even that was more exciting. The last film I just could not get excited about.
Sam Cumbley there’s no sequel memes that are even worth reading
The whole point of the vid is about clone wars not the prequels dipshit. The prequels are terrible
Erick Santillana the prequels are terrible
if only there were awards on youtube
great work, tovarisch

I like how disappointed grievous looks when kenobi is destroying his guards
0:52 I'm didn't know the Jedi had robotic spinning arm in their combat that you can learn.
Nah. He knew half of his arms would get cut off with all the fancy spinning. He would use the Jedi style after that.
Not gonna lie, General Grevious was always one of my favorite characters. 😎
This video will make a fine addition to my collection
In this style and with this version of grievous this would be hell of a fight
I love these reanimations you make, they are absolutely brilliamt. Keep up the awesome content!
I’m new here but this channel definitely deserves a subscription
Obi-wan even has the Jack grin.
If this were the 2003 art style there would be a billion more droids XD
God damn I really felt uneasy. That Grevious version really could obliterate Kenobi.
I'm a wannabe animator desperately trying to find my feet, and I hope you can forgive me saying, this inspires me more than words can describe.
I'll have to come back to give specific compliments later. For now, know that you've inspired me to go forward with my hobby.

It’s a really good rendition of that animation. Nicely done.
You know the outcome would've been different with this Grievous.

2003 grievous was ridiculously OP, I think he could probably beat anyone 1v1 outside of like maybe Palpatine

Very nice! Love the style, it’s a great homage! Well done!
