Hey guys! This week it is time to start getting the 1960 Plymouth Fury ready to drive, at long last! We'll start under the car with some repairs to the frame and driveline, and then we get together for some tuning on the engine... Finally, I am entered in the local vintage Tractor Pull in a couple weeks, so let's start getting the old International W6 ready to go! it's a beautiful car!!, showed it to a friend of mine, and he couldn't believe it's made from 3 or 4 different cars and models,. excellent craftmanship!!
The Fury project is so well known, it even got a mention about a year ago in an editorial in Hemming Classic Car magazine, as an example of what can be done in a home shop with determination - but with the mention that the builder has a skill set far beyond what most hobbyists posses. To say the least.
Scott, seeing the Fury roll up the driveway like that was a thing of beauty. I remember when you pulled it out of the field... Best to the Menace and all the agents.
I too have watched the entire Fury build. Scott, you have rebuilt this Fury to a far higher standard than the factory ever reached originally. It's gorgeous.
Problem I see is they had all the parts new and in a plethora at the factory and *_still_* did not achieve what Scott made out of three and a half or so rustbuckets *_to date_* while stating that he isn't finished yet .....
@@MaxGiganteum That's an interesting angle to view at it. Saw a documentary recently about the "Sud" factory Alfa Romeo had to establish/keep working in the seventies in order to avoid administrative problems with and (over-)taxation of their "Nord" factories. It got clear how no amount of excellent engineering could weigh up against sloppy building carried out by unskilled, uninterested workers. So, the way "HR" hired, fired and overall organized the workforce actually bodging these cars together might have had a major influence in the legendary sloppy build quality of that era.
5 long years - we (including Colin James) have been anticipating the Fabulous Finned Fury Field Find in all her splicey glory, glistening and being tweaked in the sun....... Surely timed to be road ready in time for Labour Day when the Elks lick the Stamps......ahem.....and the Cats maul the Boatmen..... soooooo Canadian. Im STOKED for this !!!!
Gorgeous! Absolutely GORGEOUS! The Fury in it’s 1960 summer holiday colours looks good enough to eat! It just screams hazy lazy ice-creams at me. That is one exquisite car Scott, a monument to your talents and your many wonderful friends. The Fox is a beauty too, what a lovely car. The sweet Mischief is looking foxy with her boyfriend and will really grace the Fury (covered) back seat. Dean was on form! Hilarious! Just the right cast for that sequence, Kyle and Jim hammed it up wonderfully and Dean “That’s how they came” … hahaha! Kyle was looking for a fender to demonstrate his “magical now you see it… now you don’t” split repair technique, but the Edsel door will do just pretend it’s a fender Kyle. Bless you all - another wonderful episode - this one oozing awe from everyone at the sight of the 1960 Fury.
“ A Lot of people don’t realize the hardest part of a project is blowing it apart into a thousand pieces and then giving up” ! Truer words never said! Then waiting 30 years for Dennis Collins to show and buy it! Easiest way to flip a car!
The Fury is looking better every day. Deans greasy flip was great! Always nice when the seller tells you it was stolen AFTER you buy it! First time I have seen so many “customers” on the lot!
Hi, Scott the Fury looks so beautiful. Great job on the under coating and the driveshaft bearing plus the tune up. You look great driving the Fox Mustang 5.0. I can't when you do the drive video in the Fury. You should take Dean, Tom, Myles, and Laura when you do the drive test in the Fury. Take care Scott and give my best to everyone.
HEY SCOTT! LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT! And I was so pleased to see that Motor Peaker unit I donated to the channel years ago on the work table! Hope it was helpull!
I’ve been watching the Fury restoration since the beginning. I still can’t hardly believe you saved this car, there are few people with the skills and patients to complete something of this magnitude, bravo. Also, thank you for bringing us along it’s been such a entertaining restoration to watch! 👏🏼👏🏼
You know that we're gonna need some sort of parade with this Fury and Miles' Strato-Chief in the very near future, right? Those cars, all clean and shiny running line astern through town will turn A LOT of heads!
Another excellent episode! The Fury is looking brilliant and that tractor is gonna be a beauty. Having said that, Dean’s Greasy Flips had me in fits of laughter, I want that sweet Edsel; reckon Dean’ll throw in shipping to Australia in that eight fiddy price?! I'd best take the 17 Street exit and head to One Fih Thirh! Thanks so much, folks, this hour of entertainment makes for hours of laughs and good times!
I feel like this would be a great video to introduce you guys to someone who's never seen CWM. Almost all of you are here, you're all having fun, everyone gets a joke in, everything's fun and everything resolves itself (almost, but a few good teasers for the next episodes). And a nice cameo from Kyle. Just a great production!
Scott, as ever, is the master of the understatement. Re the tractor: "It's not Pebble Beach"...the filter bowl: "That's not ideal". Love it, always makes me laugh. I agree with you about car development like the Rover 3500 you showed a few weeks back. Lovely cars comfortable, quiet, stylish. The only development since has been to trick them out with junk you can do well without so that non-car folks will buy them.
I’ve said it before, but seriously, this is the best car/variety show on RUclips-it’s certainly not “the same ole shit”! Freaking 59 kilometers per hour-hauling butt for sure in the “T” and the Fury is a masterpiece restoration🤟🏻❤️🔧 you’re the tops Scott and agents!
Lovely to see the Fury out and about, Scott - even if we're not able to go for a run until she's to your satisfaction. So pleased to see her moving under her own power and getting the post-rebuild niggles sorted. Love that Mustang too. The Foxes were my favourite era of the model and it's lovely to see such a well-preserved one - even if you're not allowed to open the sunroof! Great to see another Greasy Flip - and Dean found another Edsel, eh? Or is that what's left of his black one after it's been driven for a week, broken down and then sat outside for a month? (Just kidding, Dean!) You're game in doing the Tractor Pull, mate! Mind you, that old beast is so well preserved, I reckon it will do well once you've knocked the bugs out of it. Will enjoy seeing what she can do, eh? Another great show and so again, many thanks for keeping them coming. All the best
Damn it's beyond satisfying to see the 60 Fury rolling up the driveway. I can't wait to see the final reveal video. To take a car that was literally on it's death bed and not only bring it back to life, but bring it back to beautiful again is a feeling that is hard to explain.....it's about 25% pride, 25% happiness and 50% relief that it's done. 😅 As a high school graduate of 1993, the 5.0 Mustang was a legendary car back then....especially the 5 speed versions. Guys were bolting Vortech superchargers on those things back then and just slaying everything on the street. So many of them were modified and beat to death. It's a rare treat to see one that survived in OEM condition.
What an outcome from hard work, skill, determination and importantly mateship turning the Fury in the horse field into the piece of art it is today. A real credit to all if the agents. Love the paint scheme.
Everything about the Fury is just exceptional. Too many things to list. One of the best saves ever. I know it would be a herculean editing job but it would be cool to see all of the clips of this build consolidated into a mini series and then pin it. It needs to be easily shared. I know I would.
It's awesome to see the Fury so close to completion. That project is how I discovered the channel. I remember reading a forum post about a group of insane people trying to weld a Fury to a Dodge and so I started watching, anticipating some sort of train wreck...yet here we are 4 years later and I'm still waiting for that train wreck. You should also enter the forklift in the tractor pull!

..hi Scott.....almost brings a tear to the eye seeing the Fury this close to completion......great show this week....Dean footage is always a treat........
coldwarmotors The Fury Looks so wonderful Takes me back to the old days when redid my 1952 Chevy Bel Air hard top and put on original Factory seat Covers I got at a sale Your interior is just wonderful looking and it has me wanting to Sing the cars with the forward look.. Keep bringing them back to life. Double WOW TO THE PLYMOUTH!
Another Canadian, east of Scott and the crew, ("Offgrid Homesteading with the Skinners" --- YT channel -- ) has one of those "belt driven" saws that Tom was talking about. He also uses a "vintage" tractor to drive it and uses it for cutting his firewood into usable lengths. Of course, most of his firewood is "cut-offs" from his home made mill that he uses to mill his own lumber from his own "woodlot" on his property.
Wow! In the time I started the video to the end, the number of views of this video went from 88 to 2,189. Guess Cold War Motors is getting popular! ;)! That 60 Fury is looking AWESOME! Nice job on the tune up and armrest. Underside is looking good! 92% percent done. I appreciate you waiting until you consider it "done" to show us the car while taking us viewers for a drive! Loved the Mustang GT too! The Fox bodies were awesome. 1979 to 1993 then a refresh lasting until 2004! They were new when I started high school in 1979. Hard to believe the cars from 1993 are 30 years old! Like you say, cars still seem modern to us people in our 50s and older, from the 1960s and 1970s. Newer cars are becoming too complicated with too many sensors and new technologies. Especially with parts shortage on the new ones! Hope the tractor pull goes good! You'll be ready for it! Looks like Dean has another Edsel to restore. Would take more work than you've got in your Fury over 4 years though! I appreciate your videos and it is a highlight of my Saturday! Have an awesome week! George from Maine!
Holy smokes, the Fury is a stunner! I've been watching this since you pulled it out of a field of horseshit...it's been really inspiring to watch. As you were letting the lift down, the side of the car looks like a mirror! Really, really dig the custom upholstery...fantastic work. Man, I sympathize with the feeling of seeing the Miller specialty tool in the illustration that would make the job a breeze, but isn't in my shop...so far on my own Mopar project, I've managed to get by with Harbor Freight pullers, shop press, all-thread and the BFH, but sooner or later, I know I'll be shelling out. Can't wait for the drive report video!
The fury is amazing , beautiful car and to know what you started with no one would ever know by looking at it. The tractor love the tractor it reminds me of being on the farm when I was just a kid. I definitely want to see you do more with it , maybe even paint it this winter.
All I have to say is your timing is impeccable. Every single time c.w.m post a new video it happens to be like when I'm lighting up fatty. Cheers to you menace dog and all the agents to a spectacular episode as always. Like to thank you and let you know how much I appreciate all the hard work that goes into making videos. You guys don't sugarcoat anything or like fix something behind the scenes and then act like it just magically fix itself and got itself running no you show The Good The bad and ugly no filler no bullshit. Again like to thank you for the hard work that you put in all these videos Scott. It truly is appreciated you really do make my day. Let you know I've had one hell of a shit couple days I've been really depressed and bummed out and your videos really do help me again thank you.
Hey Scott, you better fix the seat on the tractor before you enter the pull, or the tractor might be driving itself. The Fury looks brand new, looks good coming and going.
Hi there! The Fury is stunning! The To Do list has to be getting pretty short. It'll get lots of attention when you take it to most any car show. The Fox Mustang is sweet! Nearly all the ones I dealt with had horrible rattles & squeaks and that one is so quiet! Great entrance by Dean in the Greasy Flips segment. I'm pretty sure if Kyle hadn't already gotten that cherry of a GMC from you he'd be the proud owner of that Edsel. Once you clean out the fuel tank the tractor it'll be quite useful. If you get the saw that Tom spoke of, try to find store mannequin to mutilate for the Halloween episode. Take care!
Well it’s Monday morning here in the Great Southland ,been and exciting few weeks. So glad you repaired the 40 Dodge, I could not believe how far the nose was punched in. The midweek vid was exciting, I saw the thumb nail and thought the GMC would be a good match for Kyle and it was so… The Fury is just outstanding and it’s getting so exciting, great work Scott. Your talent is on full show and it amazes us all. Your a lucky man to have Tom and the Agents to help you sort it all. Keep up the great work.
I always give coldwarmotors a thumbs up and now I'm trying to figure out how to give it a two thumbs up when you have Dean with his greasy flips. It's nice to see Dean inebriated but not "hammered".
The Fury-on-Hoist lifting soundtrack sounded like the opening to a Nine Inch Nails song. I was ready to start putting on eyeliner. Glad I didn't have time to get started. Hot day at work today,. Got home, poured a tall glass of lemonade (with a splash of Russian delight), and clicked on the new CWM episode. life is good.
After taking a rear drum off, put the nut back on and tappy tap on the back, and the axle will come right out. Lucky the d/shaft trunnion bellows was good, as it's real fun to replace.
@@MaxGiganteum I did say AFTER you take the drum off. The axle won't pull out unless it's persuaded. But it's not super tight. This works mainly on '57 thru '64 Mopars.
Phanominal job on the 60 Fury !! 🏆 The Mustang is in amazing shape . My brother had the 1987 but it had a lot of issues with the chips in the ECU , so he bought an ‘88 CRX Si . 479,000 Km he sold it and it still started up like new. Good Luck at the tractor pull !!!
so happy to see the Fury up and running Scott, has been my favorite build of yours, and I've watched every step of the way :) Cheers from Australia, and hugs for Frankers :)
The Plymouth looks stunning. The interior really turned out nice. Too bad Dean couldn't make a sale, I think he just had some lookers, and not buyers show up.
I recently watched the episode when you bought the 60 dart 4 door to save this car. Dean was hilarious wanting to save that car and you talking him out of it. It was a cool car but that fury is awesome good job to you Scott and all the agents that helped along the way
Wow! the Model T is moving right along! That is speed I can only dream of with my 4 to 1 hill pulling gears. The fury is awesome...but you don't need me to tell you that. Cheers from hilly Iowa

It's kinda anti-climatic, now what?🤤 I know whatever happens next will be pure gold!
You've turned a really poor condition car into a work of art. You should be proud!!
Dean is the Monty Hall of greasy flips . Love how the fury is coming along Scott
The only problem with a D.G.F. they are almost always a "gag" prize! So never Make A Deal with Monty Dean! 😆
@@glennnickerson8438 😂😂😂😂😂
..hi Scott.....almost brings a tear to the eye seeing the Fury this close to completion......great show this week....Dean footage is always a treat........
Lovin the Fury...
You did an oustanding job on the Fury.
She's a true beauty.
Enjoyed it

Everyone needs a Timing Advisory Board... tune by committee producing impressive results!
coldwarmotors The Fury Looks so wonderful Takes me back to the old days when redid my 1952 Chevy Bel Air hard top and put on original Factory seat Covers I got at a sale Your interior is just wonderful looking and it has me wanting to Sing the cars with the forward look.. Keep bringing them back to life. Double WOW TO THE PLYMOUTH!
As the kids would say, that Fury is straight fire. Nice work, Scott!
Great to see the Fury! Looking awesome! Can't wait to see more!
The Edsel engineers applied the Whitcomb Area Rule to the passenger side of Dean’s car to help it go supersonic. It’s a family hair loom!
She's a beauty Scott. I watch every episode of this built, the late night cold autumn night that a few good friends and a lot of beer got started!
The Fury's interior really looks beautiful Scott, love the whole car.
Great to see the finishing touches to the fury. Watched all along. Dean's a legend.
The Fury sounds great! Too bad about the diff having issues. That Fox body is a sweet ride, they are fun cars. Great video as always Scott, Cheers!
Love the Fury content. Bonus with the tractor and Tom telling stories.
I have watched every bit of this 60 Fury build, you are a master!
When the dream dies Dean buys!!!! OMFG
You have to be proud of that great looking Fury! Outstanding job! Love it.
How much does the Miller puller cost?
Great to see the Fury out on the road looks fantastic
Take care!
Let the show begin!
Well it’s Monday morning here in the Great Southland ,been and exciting few weeks. So glad you repaired the 40 Dodge, I could not believe how far the nose was punched in. The midweek vid was exciting, I saw the thumb nail and thought the GMC would be a good match for Kyle and it was so…
The Fury is just outstanding and it’s getting so exciting, great work Scott. Your talent is on full show and it amazes us all. Your a lucky man to have Tom and the Agents to help you sort it all. Keep up the great work.
Still can’t believe you don’t have more followers.
Man, seeing you with the Fury after dragging it out of a resting place in a field and what you’ve done , it’s a thing of beauty Scott!
I’ve watched since before the first 1960 Fury video. Beautiful work. Bravo!
Cheers Johnny! Thanks for following along for so long now...
Remember when Scott was clean shaven? 😊
@@glennnickerson8438 yep, sure do
I always give coldwarmotors a thumbs up and now I'm trying to figure out how to give it a two thumbs up when you have Dean with his greasy flips.
Fury is amazing love you Frankers Hi Scott and Dean every one at Cold War Motors
Fury looks great, you must be well chuffed, can't believe it's been 4 years
Are you going to drive that Plymouth back to where you bought it and show the guy what it has become? I know if I were the seller I would love that!!!
The 1960 Fury looks almost done, that was quick and easy.
Dean was really looking for the hookers, not the lookers...lol
I recently watched the episode when you bought the 60 dart 4 door to save this car. Dean was hilarious wanting to save that car and you talking him out of it. It was a cool car but that fury is awesome good job to you Scott and all the agents that helped along the way
Wow! the Model T is moving right along! That is speed I can only dream of with my 4 to 1 hill pulling gears. The fury is awesome...but you don't need me to tell you that. Cheers from hilly Iowa
Great start on the Edsel motor. A fan and an air cleaner! The rest is easy!
