Hi Corey once again you have given me a plethora of information that will make me understand why I need the rest of the Ring security system I only have a doorbell right now but I'm going to purchase the rest thank you for all your advice and information peace out👸🏽👏🏽💞🥰👍🏽😁
I am considering the newest 2021 system to replace my soon to be sunsetted AT&T DigitalLife Alarm system. I have had the $100 per year Ring connection for the last 8 months - but have never done anything about getting the monitoring of the cameras I currently have. I know that's yet another hurdle. I am a retired computer technologist and believe it or not, just a bit overwhelmed.. Thank you for your video!
wow i love these things cause they are the real superhero's along with tablets ipad's cell phone's laptops computer's printer's as there sidekicks oh man i love superhero's i been a fan of them since i was turning 4 while watching them at my grandparent's house as a kid in 90's
So if you don’t have the subscription it won’t record what’s happening just show you live video? Like if you don’t have it and someone walked in front of the camera, it would alert you and you could watch the person. But it won’t record for you to go back and watch again?
work as an alarm contractor but installed ring at my house.. crazy how many standard features are available that are considered "upgrades" on older systems. also crazy how people get locked into contracts and cant even arm or disarm their home from their phones or need to add more equipment to make it smart home.. i know older customers like simple stuff but it is 2021. the standard of living has gotten way better. but i love the ring system. 4 cameras (2 solar, 1 hardwire, 1 batt) solar never dip below 99%. and 10 sensors through the house.
It is funny you said this. I am currently running a Ring doorbell and 3 stick up cams. I am adding the Ring home security system now. We had someone from Vivint come out recently and it would have cost us $100 to get the coverage we have with this system, plus the cost of equipment up front. No comparison. We live in an isolated area, and we we not even need the alarm to notify the police, just us.
What kind of battery life do you get out of the stick up cam. I wouldnt want to have to continuously replace the battery for something that high. Also in MN we get super harsh temps. probably best to get wired option if possible?
Good question! If we have not answered your question within our detailed hands-on review, we suggest reaching out to the company directly to get more information. Thanks for understanding!
The biggest downside to these cameras is the video quality. The features are where it’s at with ring cameras but I can’t wait until they are 4k with backup batteries in all products and a much better Wi-Fi antenna built in for a more reliable robust connection. I’d also like to see edge be functional (for me the video quality becomes useless) and to be able to have local and cloud storage at the same time also have an option to switch to edge local storage if internet goes out.
the video you monitor has 10 minutes limit, and you need to reconnect every 10 minutes. is there any way to have 24/7 live monitoring without reconnection?
Hello. Thanks for the great video. Finally getting rid of ADT. I have a question please . I'm gonna have three different pads in three different floors. I need the pad upstairs not to chirp at all when any sensor is opened or closed. And I need the one in the middle and Basement floors to only chirp when certain sensors are opened and closed. Are these options customizable? Thanks so much.
Just so you all know if you already have this system and are watching this video when he says "alexa, set alarm to away" your alarm will set to away. My Show 5 in the kitchen picked this up from the studio and set my alarm to away. Good sir, don't you know you are supposed to "bleep" when you say "Alexa" in a youtube video?
Can you use your own wireless wifi router and not the built in router with this ring alarm pro? Do you have to connect wired directly to you own wifi router in order to use my own router to connect or wireless?
Thank you so much for your kind words. We work really hard to make sure we produce accurate and entertaining content. Please share our channel with your friends.
I’m planning to get a Ring stick up cam for indoors, one should do I don’t need much. I’m not a homeowner, I live in senior community and I have a studio apartment. Thank you for your presentation!
Maybe because I'm old (70) maybe because I'm just not tech savvy, but questions do all these peripheral devices depend on a strong signal from your existing wifi?? Battery operated cameras obviously are going to require I go fish out the ladder, (not something to look forward to) but, how often? Does the software tell you when peripheral battery life is low or am I left to guess? Also could you elaborate a bit on monthly fees? You mentioned one for $10, but it sounded like other options exist. Thanks
If I do not want to have protect plus subscription, and power go out, but my router has battery backup, Will ring alam still send notification to my phone App for example motion alert? Will i get notification about power goes out?
I have the whole ring security system and one ring doorbell with 3 cloud cam. Unfortunately it ate up so much internet data that I had to stop using it.
My current alarm system has a fob that I use upstairs to arm and disarm the system. Is the app the only way to arm and disarm the system from upstairs?
Great review. I love my Ring system. But I wish Ring would come up with a whole home hub in which the cameras could talk to that has battery and cellular backup so that if the power or internet goes out you can still see your cameras. BTW, the Ring stick up camera with solar panel is the way to go, you never have to recharge the battery.
This is one of Ring's shortcomings - when the internet goes down so do the cameras. The system still functions (via. cellular) but you are blind to what is happening visually. The key is to get other brand cameras that still record locally to SD cards which can be reviewed at a later time as this fills in the gaps in the event of an internet outage.
@@BreakTime10101 , If your house is going to get broken into it's going to get broken into. As you know Ring has the cellular failover and at least know what's happening and can alert the PO-PO. The other cameras that record in the event of an internet outage are for insurance purposes. If you can prove your TV or whatever was carried out the door and have it on video it makes it pretty hard for your insurance company to dispute it! Did you ever think about that? Since you use Ring what is your solution to a downed internet connection?
I have the ring alarm,3 ring camera's 2 external 1 internal, the video doorbell 4 and I've just added the siren to complete my setup plus assisted monitoring money well spent in my honest opinion
Thanks for the review. I have had Comcast for 6 years. In the last year their customer service has gotten so bad that I need to leave them. I already have 5 ring cameras so I decided to switch everything over to Ring. Just ordered everything today!
One other question I have, I see you have 3 doorbells, are they all hardwired into your house wired doorbell, or do you have the wireless chimes throughout the house? Also, can each doorbell be programmed to ring multiple chimes within the house? Thanks
Hi Breaktime. We have done all of these versions with Ring. If you have multiple Ring Chimes, multiple devices can ring it. Even if you have Echo devices you can have those ring as well.
You mean solely? Ring does have cellular backup if your internet goes out. I do not think it can be your primary means of reaching the internet though. They go to great lengths to say just backup. Additionally, you wouldn't be able to set it up just using SIM. Finally, you may want to try to set up a SIM wifi system and then connect Ring through that. I haven't tried that yet, but it's a good idea for a video. Thanks!
Eufy does not offer a home security system solution. Yes, some Eufy cameras may be better but are NOT tied into a security system. I'll TAKE the lower video quality for ONE app that does it all. After a break-in I do not want to switch between several apps to figure out what's going on at my home! Think about that. While someone is raping my house. Food for thought.
does this ring motion detector keeps sensing 24/7 even if my system is disarmed? i see on my Ring app that even when my system is in disarmed mode, it still shows "Motion detected" when someone passes across it. I have motion alerta Off. How do I make it stop detecting when my system is disarmed?
Ring sucks, I just purchased an updated Ring Door Bell 7 weeks ago, the App was working perfect, I called Ring Customer Service she said lets refresh & uninstall the app and re install it, She failed to "FIRST" ask what version Android OS I had. Now I have no cell phone Ring app because the new App which people say sucks will not install on my phone nor can I get the version that installed no problem 2 months ago when I purchased the new Ring Door Bell on Amazon. Great review. Just one little criticism - Next video please mute your voice before saying "Alexa arm away!" I was playing your video on my TV and had popped upstairs for a moment and came back down just in time to cancel my alarm activation and stop it contacting the assisted monitoring station! For my sanity please call her "Miss A" in future and mute the video before asking her to carry out commands - Thank you :)

can you speak to the Amazon sidewalk for Ring and amazon devices and potential security concerns? I am looking at getting the ring system and doorbell and have disabled the sidewalk feature on my alexa app.
Ring completely sucks because there was absolutely zero tech or customer support after the sale. Simply safe all the way. I have experience with both and believe me SimpliSafe is the way to go. Unfortunately Amazon is way too big to even give a s#% about their customers and there is zero support after the sale. I will give ring one complement, when I took my video doorbell and smashed it on the concrete, it literally took three good hard throws to totally destroy it. True story
