Thank you for the great review. I’m hoping that you can answer a few questions about the system. So I’m looking to use this for a family vacation home, because of that I have a couple of questions. 1- What is the limit for the number of shared access PINs that you can have? 2- what flexibility do you have on temporary PINs (ex. Time frames, etc.) 3- with the batteries in the sensors, are you notified through the app when they get low, or do the sensor just stop working? 4- how many people can have access to ring account on the app, for example can my parents, myself, my spouse, siblings, siblings spouses all have the app on our individual phones to be able to arm and disarm the system? 5- can I manage the system remotely or are there limitations? Thanks again for the great info.

Your educational security videos are TOP NOTCH!! THANK YOU!! I recently purchased and installed the 2nd GEN ring system. Question: Can you set the system to BYPASS a door when HOME/STAY is active. Thanks to this review and several others by security.org. I went with Ring home security system. To me its the best value for the money. Ring is the cheapest system to buy, Its very simple to set up. Even for a non computer savvy person like me, and what I like about Ring better than its closest competitors such as Simplisafe and Cove is that Ring is the only one that doesn't charge you extra OR make you buy into the more expensive monitoring plans than they advertise to lure customers in just to get access to your doorbell footage. And with Ring you can expand and add as many extra cameras as you like and nothing changes with price. This is just not true with any other security system. Also with ring You have the option to self monitor if you want but the only reason I was even considering self monitoring was the high cost of many of these companies monitoring plans. Ring's $10 a month plan is a bargain compared to every other company out there and its no contract. So I went with it. I hate contracts that lock you into spending with a company. If a product is good and worth it then you don't need to force your customers into contracts to keep their business . Ok so ring doesn't have a fancy keypad that looks like a computer screen but who cares All that is for is to show everyone you have a security system. They don't have key fobs either but considering that everyone has a cell phone and the system is controlled through your phone, you don't really need an extra key fob to add to your key ring. I almost went with Simplisafe because a neighbor has it and he showed it to me and I was sold on every aspect of Simplisafe except one. Simplisafe offers a $15 a month monitored plan but what they try to hide from people is that in order to get full access to your security system you have to pay $25 a month So that axed Simplisafe and I found out Cove dose the same thing. SO for me, Now that I have the Ring system installed and I did it myself I am happy with it. I did opt for the $10 a month fully monitored plan and they give you a 7 day practice period before the system goes live and I tripped it by accident a few times and was immediately called by Ring to see if everything was OK. Also compared to my friends security system from ADT that he has a 5 year contract with and pays $65 a month for monitoring, it works pretty much the same way the ADT system works. Ring's system also has the chimes that go off even when the system is unarmed so when you are home and a door or window is opened the system sounds through the whole house just like all the big expensive companies offer. So for me, for the money in initial cost, and the optional monthly monitoring, Ring is the best system out there and no one else can touch them.

Very informative review. Being new at all this i have some questions. Currently I use Google Assistant, I have no experience with Alexa. Will Google Assistant work with this or should I just go with Alexa? Also, with the cameras, can I remotely turn on the cameras on from miles away to watch whats happening at my house? Also, can the window and door monitors be activated and/or deactivated individually or no? And can you have more than one keypad in the house, one at the front door and one at the back door? Lastly, can you get the system at Amazon or should I go to the nearest electronics store? Keep up the good work😀
Ring Products integrate best with Alexa. Yes you can watch the cameras when you are not at home. You cannot activate and deactivate the window sensors one at a time. You can't have more than 1 keypad. You can get it all on Amazon.
Is the siren louder on the new version? That's what prevented need from taking the plunge on the first one. I tested using a store demo and with the volume all the way up the siren was not loud at all even though it came from there base and keyboard. Do they allow for an external siren to be added to this yet that is loud?
What is the most compatible or can you find the most compatible HomeKit or Apple friendly home security with the smartest cameras? And review them for me? I am blind and my wife can see, she is not technically inclined, I was a guru with all the engineering and all that and I just recently went blind and I can no longer or at least it feels like I couldn’t get out there and find the best the last best funny love was like you can which was way overpriced and unnecessary, and I’m looking for parallels in spar cameras that will work with Apple.
It basically lets you turn the led light on all devices on and off (The little ring on every sensor) So ex. When you open door a green light flashes to say it's open. Led on keypad lets you adjust the brightness of the buttons when you touch them

Hi BF, I have been searching for this answer for hours because I feel like I figured it out once and Ring does not seem to like to divulge this for some reason. Anyway, the company is Rapid Response according to my one hour phone call with Ring tonight.
Yes, the Ring works without the monthly service, but you lose the professional monitoring, reduced video history, and the cellular backup for when power goes out.

Yeah it’s called a dome siren
Brilliant review, in-depth and interesting . Subscribed 👏🏽

Why the light on the Base Station is Red?
If the base station is stuck on red, try resetting the device by unplugging it and removing the batteries for 10 seconds.
What is the LED settings?
It basically lets you turn the led light on all devices on and off (The little ring on every sensor) So ex. When you open door a green light flashes to say it's open. Led on keypad lets you adjust the brightness of the buttons when you touch them

What company provides monitoring service for Ring? Their website states that they don't own their own monitoring center.
Hi BF, I have been searching for this answer for hours because I feel like I figured it out once and Ring does not seem to like to divulge this for some reason. Anyway, the company is Rapid Response according to my one hour phone call with Ring tonight.
@@SecurityDotOrg WOW!! I didn't expect you all to actually research the answer for me. Thank you !!
Great review!! Answered a lot of my questions!!
This video was so helpful dude! Thanks!
Can you still use this security system yourself if you don’t want the monthly service?
Yes, the Ring works without the monthly service, but you lose the professional monitoring, reduced video history, and the cellular backup for when power goes out.
extremely well done, you are a great presenter, thanks
Thank you kindly!

Great Job could you please reply and let me know if they have 24 hour customer service so if your system is not working you can talk with someone. How about ordering more parts and adding on to the system in the future can the person do that in the app or do you have to go through RING. Great Job talking tonight.
