Tiny mistake correction : the BMW is a 118d and not 120d. Still a 2.0 but detuned to 136hp (Belgium special) as mentioned in the video ✌🏻
I'v got a 118D model year 2016 but is 150 hp
@@cristianosimula5500 In Belgium it is further detuned for insurance purposes. Like anything at or under 136hp will cost less in taxes/insurance cause they also take into consideration the power of the car. It's very stupid if you ask me but well 🤦♂️😂😂
The eCVT of the hybrids is really good, it provides instant torque like full ev cars, as long as you have sufficient battery charge. Even Prius can surprise sometimes how quick can be when pushed, well how quick react I a mean , Prius and fast two very different things 😂👍🚗🚙
I’ve just traded my diesel Porsche Macan for latest generation 5 2L GR Sport, as I’ve recently retired and need to have a reset financially. I was very impressed with the transmission on the Corolla. Especially from a standing start. It feels quicker than the claimed 7.5 second 0-60mph. Acceleration is instant too. Unlike the jerky PDK fitted to the Macan.
It does feel way quicker!

It is normal. Electric engine has max torque from 0rpm and then it is constant. Ecvt does not have any gears, electric engines does it smothly. Ice runs in most efficient range. That is toyota hybrid :) Japanese are best is these toys

Corolla looks way better, the BMW could pass for a 2006 if it was dirty and had some dings here and there! The blue is awesome though, would look great on Toyota!
Intéressant mais ce ne sont ni les mêmes générations de véhicules, ni la même classe de motorisation. Je suis d'avis qu'un % minime d'acheteurs de BMW diesel va se tourner vers cette version de Corolla, même si elle est économe en carburant. Merci pour ce "drag race" même si peu de gomme a été laissée sur le tarmac.
Tu as tout a fait raison. Les deux véhicules sont très différents et 4 ans les séparent. On aurait aimé avoir une dernière version de la série 1 mais malheureusement ça n'a pas été possible. On l'a plus fait pour le facteur "fun" que pour la comparaison a proprement parler. Je promet que le prochain drag race inclura plus de gomme brûlée ✌🏻😂

What's the horsepower/ torque on the Corolla? I hear the 2022 Corolla GR coming to America will have approximately 255hp and 266 ft lbs of torque?
Around 180hp and 280nm (combined output)

@@paulrevere365 as for the true GR (coming next year) it should have the Yaris GR4 power train so 1.6l 3cyl turbo (around 260hp) and 4wd.

Regarding the Adaptive Suspension that you mention in the video, I have searched many toyota websites of different european countries and I found nothing. There is no way you can configure your corolla GR sport in any website and add those Adaptive Suspensions. I mean, are you sure the car in the video has that kind of suspensions and how can one order them?
Hi! Yes it has AVS suspension (adaptive variable suspension) as an optional on the GR Sport trim. The car was configured in Belgium and I double checked with my contact at Toyota Belgium and it is something new on the Corolla GR-Sport only. You can also distinguish it by the added driving mods in the drive selector (eco,comfort, sport, sport+ ) whereas the regular corolla had less to chose from.
Google "corolla gr sport AVS suspension" and some extra information should pop up. I hope this helped and if you have any more questions, don't hesitate to hit me up ✌🏻

@@fietspomp987 it's a 2015 but it's a Belgian car. In Belgium they are detuned for insurance purposes (from 150 to 136 or from 177 to 163 etc). But normally you're correct 😁

Super vidéo, je me demande vraiment se que vaut une Corolla vs une boîte auto traditionnelle car en test en général la Cvt est mal vu
Petite erreur de ma part, c'est un 118d et non une 120d. Ça reste un 2l mais avec 136cv au lieu de 163/184cv . Un truc typiquement belge pour les assurances haha.
La CVT n est pas du tout orientée performance mais en accélération elle est assez performante (dans cette gamme d'autos) car elle garde une plage de couple assez constante et donc pas de perte de puissance pendant l'accélération car pas de rapports a passer. Après, le démarrage sportif est honnêtement très faible et la sonorité pas très excitante haha ✌🏻

186hp ant 10s to 100? it barely wins against 118d... thats slow...
It's not the fastest car indeed 😂 also it's a 8s car not 10, that applies for the 1.8 version whereas we shot with the 2.0. The launch is bad due to the CVT but acceleration is decent honestly 😁
it is 20 years mature technology since 1998 Prius, At 186HP, dual injections 2.0L but at the efficiency of most 100HP turbo 3cylinders cars and not a diesel.

I say that because the max speed is not all on a sport car. But 180kmh...it is "slow" for a sport car.. The swift sport for example can reach 216kmh.
