Thanks for your comment 👍🏾 Finally someone who understands that GR Sport and GR are two different things. If I'm not mistaken in the United States there is the Supra, GR86 and the Corolla GR and in Europe Supra, Yaris GR and GR86. Toyota only sells 3 sports models per market.

Toyota has been improving this drive for many years, in other words, it is not a gearbox but a power splitter. Audi had it too and abandoned it, and now they regret it a bit. In Superbikes, they were also thinking about applying it. Williams, F1 had it too, but the FIA rejected the patent, it beat the car, it was too fast in the corners from the rest of the competition. Agricultural machinery also has CVT
This is only GR Sport trim. Not real GR
I see that many here have no idea about CVT technology as a power distributor, which has nothing to do with a traditional automatic transmission. The sports specification in the GR Sport does not make sense at all to accelerate the car to 250km / h, and the technical could be more due to the smooth power vector that is calculated from the moment. Williams also had a CVT in F1, having been banned by the FIA years ago for speeding too smoothly and faster cornering than the competition. Toyota here does not present a speed demon, but a car that is to be properly economical and smoothly accelerating on the basis of new technology and the TNGA platform. Who does not understand this, from engineering mechanics should not speak, but since we have zombie customers who see and expect only V max instead of other features ... Tragedy
I'm a happy owner of this exact model!! (Europe, bought in March 2022). I drove it for 7000kms until now. Here speed limit is 130km on highways btw I appreciate my car's pickup also in automatic Eco mode. I drove 7000kms total so far and I see a total consumption of 19,5 km/l.

@@harryspeakup8452 Ah sorry I've mistaken this for another version. The Corolla GR with 1.6 3 cylinder is not even CVT but 6 speed manual.
Honetly the CVT may be the best piece of tech...but the sound is awful.
I just dont get that it is almost 200hp and goes top speed at 190km. Dont get me wrong, I am a biker and I personally dont like speeding on a car, but my '06 Yaris 1.3 80hp can go 170 km top speed on the highway. I would expect more from a car with 2.5 times more horsepower and bigger engine displacement.

It’s a Corolla hybrid with a sporty style. So it is limited to 190~195km/h. It’s not the GR Corolla with the 1.6 petrol engine and 300hp as you might have thought.

Elle n'a pas de vitesse
Elle est bridée à 185/189km/h, seul ou à 5 et le coffre chargé, elle atteint toujours les 185/189. La boîte CVT gâche tout, c'est un vrai bousin ce véhicule. Elle gueule comme un veau pour rien. Elle ne mérite pas de se nommer "GR".
« Elle ne mérite pas de s’appeler GR ». On pourrait en dire autant des R Line, RS Line ou Esprit Alpine, AMG Line, GT Line et d’autres. Ce n’est pas une GR Corolla (la version avec le 1.6 300ch manuel 4x4) mais la version GR Sport qui n’est qu’un pack de style. Alors comme c’est une voiture hybride avec une CVT, oui elle est limitée à environ 190km/h mais elle n’est pas pensée pour la vitesse. La boîte CVT ne gâche rien du tout à l’intérêt de la voiture ; être efficiente et efficace. La CVT permet de réduire la consommation de carburant tout en permettant des accélérations sans lag ni perte de couple. Au quotidien la CVT se trouve être très très bien. Elle fonctionne super bien. Oui dans la vidéo elle gueule parce qu’il la pousse à fond mais dans des conditions réelles c’est rare de la pousser autant. Les 184ch permettent de ne pas avoir besoin de la pousser pour accélérer suffisamment fort. À savoir aussi que les vrai atout dynamique de cette voiture sont le couple grâce a l’électrique qui est poussif et aussi le châssis qui est très bon sur cette voiture. Croît le ou non mais elle est très fun à conduire cette Corolla et la CVT n’est pas du tout un défaut. Je parle avec l’expérience.
Salut j'adore ton contenue toute fois es ce qu'il serait possible de refaire avec le nouveau 2litre 196cv pour voir la différence
Wooooo le 100 à 180 elle le fait en moins de 20 sec c'est vraiment pas mal mais les palettes ne servent pas à grand chose personnellement. J'aimerai bien voir un duel Mazda 3 😊.

@@harryspeakup8452 Depends on the tire set-up. Im running 225 falkens on this as a daily and it makes quite a bit more noise than I would like

Bon ce n'est pas une voiture de course mais l'hybride a bien progressé chez Toyota avec cette Corolla. Par contre ce n'est pas une 2022 celle ci. L'écran centrale n'est plus le même sur les modèles de cette année. (Il change encore sur les 2023)
Actually sport mode makes a little difference lol In the older Toyota hybrid's there was just a better reaction to the acceleration pedal.

Not so. You "change gear" to put the revs at the right place for maximum power out of a corner or before overtaking, similar to a regular car. Battery regeneration is done with one of the electric motors.
Shame it goes only up to 180-190. There are cars with less power that reach more. But still good for being fake GR

En fait l’intérêt de ces palettes est un peu vagues. Elle ne sont pas adaptées pour donner une impression de boîte auto 6 rapport comme on pourrait le croire. En fait elles viennent plutôt remplacer le mode B comme présent sur le 1.8 122 et 140ch. Donc c’est plutôt des paliers de mode de régénération qui sont plus utile en descente de montagne pour recharger la batterie.

Oui, parce-que le moteur électrique est calé pour tourner à sa vitesse maximale à 180km/h (vitesse réelle). Aller plus vite serait sortir de la plage d'utilisation pour laquelle il a été conçu.

Not exactly a fast car in this horsepower range, but ok - it's a hybrid.. I could never bear that noise caused by the CVT - sounds like the car is squealing and suffering....

Because it’s an Hybrid and it’s a Toyota. The best gearbox for an hybrid powertrain when you think about it. Really smooth and efficient
I think it can run more cause yaris can do 230, maybe corolla have more weight but i expecting on 200 at least
It’s not GR Corolla, the one with 1.6 300hp. This one is the Corolla GR Sport which is like GT Line, R Line, M Pack, AMG Line etc. It’s not a sporty version, the only differences with a basic Corolla are the wheels, the seats, the bumper, a few badges and the suspension setting.

This is NOT GR Corolla. It's Corolla GR Sport. GR Corolla comes with manual transmission
This is not an automatic known from normal cars, but a CVT power splitter, a totally different mechanism that has nothing to do with a traditional automatic transmission

He might have been doing the 0-100 on a slight slope or something cause this is able to do it under 8 seconds, around 7.4 seconds. The touring sports (wagon) with the same engine can do it in 8.1 seconds.

@@aguiii_films in the description he said it is the 184hp one. I have it as well on a touring sport model so it’s a bit heavier but it’s still a pretty decent acceleration
